CommonSpirit is proud to support nonprofit organizations that help improve the health and well-being of our communities. Guided by our mission, vision and values, we prioritize projects that focus on advancing health equity, improving access to care and improving community wellness.

The Healthy School Food Pathway Fellowship empowers experienced school food professionals to lead sustainable and equitable food reform over a 13-month program. Participants enhance their leadership skills, gain in-depth knowledge of the U.S. food system, and advocate for healthy school food policies. The fellowship includes live virtual sessions, coursework, and hands-on projects, culminating in a capstone project. With a focus on collaboration and networking, selected fellows will drive impactful change in their school districts.

The Wythe-Bland Foundation Grant supports health, education, and well-being projects that benefit the citizens of Wythe and Bland counties. Established in 2005 from the lease of Wythe County Community Hospital, this non-profit foundation aims to provide essential services and maintain financial stability by managing its resources prudently. There are currently no limits on grant sizes, allowing flexibility to meet the needs of prioritized projects. The foundation emphasizes sustainable investment for long-term community benefit.

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Subgrant Program aims to enhance the health of elementary school students by providing free fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the school day. This initiative encourages healthier eating habits, increases fruit and vegetable consumption, and fosters partnerships among schools and local organizations. With funding available for the 2025–26 school year, schools with a high percentage of students qualifying for free or reduced-price meals will receive $50 per student to support this vital program.

The Healthy & Thriving Communities Grant aims to enhance health equity and well-being in Broward County by fostering a culture of health for all populations. This initiative addresses social determinants of health such as access to nutritious food and mental health resources, essential for reducing health disparities. It emphasizes community involvement and sustainable practices, promoting better health outcomes through education, environmental sustainability, and health literacy programs, ultimately striving for a resilient and thriving community.

The Methodist Healthcare Ministries is currently accepting proposals for its Open Grant Cycle, focusing on funding organizations that serve economically disadvantaged communities within a 74-county area. Emphasizing collaboration, community perspectives, and systemic change, this grant aims to address health inequities through targeted support in areas like housing and education. Eligible applicants must be IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations, with a funding pool of approximately $5 million available for transformative projects.

The Kelsey Trust, established in 1988, supports organizations that benefit the people and protect the environment of the Lake Champlain Basin. With a preference for local initiatives, the Trust collaborates with the Vermont Community Foundation for grantmaking. The Spring Grants focus on education and environmental projects, with a Letter of Interest deadline of June 1st and grant decisions announced by June 30th. Organizations eligible must be tax-exempt or public agencies in Vermont or New York.

The Moniker Foundation's Southwest Region Grant offers $10,000 grants and $1,000 participation grants to eligible organizations in a competitive process. Funding supports solution-focused health equity research nationally and in Florida, Kentucky’s Jefferson County, Louisiana, and Texas, which may benefit nutrition and healthy eating initiatives.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and eligible educational institutions developing health equity solutions in nutrition and healthy eating may be eligible for support in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Jefferson County, Kentucky. Focused on testing high-risk, high-reward interventions, Humana Foundation invites projects addressing preventable chronic disease and improving emotional connections and nutrition for populations facing inequity.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and accredited schools in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Jefferson County, Kentucky can seek support for programs advancing nutrition, healthy eating, and overall wellness. Humana Foundation provides Connected Healthy Lives Grants to expand food security, nutritional literacy, and holistic health initiatives in partnership with trusted community organizations.

New Hampshire nonprofits with prior AmeriCorps experience seeking to run full AmeriCorps programs, including those focused on nutrition and healthy eating, can apply for Volunteer NH’s competitive grants. Funded programs run for three years and can integrate nutrition, food access, or healthy eating initiatives within broader community service efforts.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving the Hampton Roads metropolitan area can receive up to US $25,000 for small, time-limited projects advancing nutrition, healthy eating, and related basic needs. Focused on wholesome nourishment, safe shelter, education, and economic opportunity, the Blocker Foundation invites programs addressing immediate community needs within its Virginia and northeastern North Carolina service area.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving the Hampton Roads metropolitan area can seek funding for nutrition, healthy eating, shelter, education, economic opportunity, and related community programs. With a mission to empower Hampton Roads communities, The Blocker Foundation provides project, program, core operating, and capital support for efforts benefiting low-income and disadvantaged residents.

Connecticut nonprofits working on nutrition, healthy eating, housing, education, or basic human services can access funding through Northwest Community Bank Foundation for program, capacity-building, or capital projects. 501(c)(3) organizations serving Northwest Community Bank communities may receive up to US $25,000 to strengthen quality of life, including food and nutrition programs.

Spokane County nonprofits and fiscally sponsored groups serving women and/or children with nutrition and healthy eating programs can access funding through Women Helping Women Fund. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations may propose responsive, community-based projects that strengthen homes and support women’s and children’s well-being during a one-year grant period.

With a mission to support wellness for older adults, Pinellas Community Foundation provides Pinellas County nonprofits and government agencies with funding to expand or improve direct services for residents aged 55 or older. Eligible projects include nutrition and healthy eating programs, mental health counseling, adult day care, caregiver support, durable medical equipment, and other wellness-related services.

Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public agencies, schools, tribal governments, and fiscally sponsored groups in Maine can apply for US $10,000 - US $1,000,000 to advance food justice, nutrition equity, and local food systems. Grants from Elmina B. Sewall Foundation can support grassroots, equity-driven efforts, including collaborations and transformational projects over one to five years.

The NASPGHAN Foundation Abbott Advanced Fellowship in Pediatric Nutrition offers up to $75,000 for one year of advanced training in pediatric nutrition for members of NASPGHAN. This fellowship aims to enhance pediatric nutrition expertise by supporting a well-defined clinical experience and focused research project. Eligible applicants must be MDs or DOs and members in good standing, with a preference for those seeking training at different institutions. The Froedtert West Bend Hospital Healthy Community Fund aims to enhance community health in Washington County by supporting programs that address priority health needs and social determinants. This fund prioritizes non-profit organizations focused on underserved populations, fostering collaborative efforts that improve health outcomes. Qualifying projects include health education, job training, and community safety initiatives. The fund excludes individual benefit requests and political campaigns, ensuring resources are directed toward community-wide health improvements.

The Community Outreach Steering Committee Grant aims to enhance community health in Waukesha County by funding non-profit organizations that focus on evidence-based practices. This grant supports initiatives that address social determinants of health, foster collaboration, and specifically benefit marginalized communities. Eligible projects may include educational, employment, health, and safety programs that improve overall health outcomes. Note that funding is not provided for individual benefits or political campaigns.
