Thomas E. Reynolds (TER) Foundation Scholarship

The scholarship was established to support the college education of students who are pursing a career goal related to the conservation or protection of the environment.​ Financial need will be considered if all other criteria are met.

Annual renewal requires that the student stay in touch with the EEF, provide term grade point averages, any change in his/her college program or professional goals, and maintain a 3.0 grade point average while actively working toward an appropriate degree.

The EEF High School Graduate Scholarship, offered by the Environmental Education Foundation, supports students from the Geneva Lake area pursuing environmentally-focused college degrees. Applicants must demonstrate a passion for conservation, have a solid high school record, and plan to attend an accredited four-year college. Financial need is considered alongside the fulfillment of other criteria. This scholarship encourages students to continue seeking additional funding for their education.

The Scholarship Program

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Some of the funds help students from a particular school or area; others provide financial assistance to those pursuing a specific field of study; still others assist students that are most in need. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds.

• Scholarships may be used to offset tuition, fees, room and board, and other items included as part of the cost for attending the institution. 
• Most scholarships are for students who live in Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties. However, some are also available to students who live in Berkshire County and Hartford County in Connecticut.
• We offer scholarships to those who attend on either a full-time or part-time basis. 
• Any student who plans to enroll for the upcoming fall semester, in any year of college as an undergraduate or graduate student and who will attend an accredited post-secondary school in the United States may apply.
• Scholarships are provided for one academic year and are not automatically renewed each year. You can reapply to our program every year you are going to attend college, and the application you submit that year will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.

African American Achievement Fund

Supporting African American residents of Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire Counties who attend four-year colleges.

In just one application, our Common Scholarship Application provides students access to more than 150 scholarship opportunities with awards ranging from $1,000 to more than $5,000.

In 2025, San Diego Foundation awarded a record-breaking $5.5 million in scholarships to nearly 1,400 students.

William and Lucille Ash Scholarship

Be adult re-entry students (age 25 or older) or former foster youth who plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university, community college or licensed career/technical school in the United States in fall (preference may be given to students attending a school in California).

A. Porter Spirit of ZHS Fund

A long time teacher at Zanesville High School. As a new teacher ZHS embraced her and she embraced the Blue Devils. Annette Porter is a first generation college graduate from a single parent home. While her parents supported her decision to go to college, it was necessary to incur personal debt which was and is common. This scholarship is available to help those students who may need a little financial help to take the first step toward college, and also make the collegiate experience less burdensome.

Becoming a Blue Devil was a process. Annette had a lot of help along the way, from Principals, Asst Principals, teaching peers, friends and family, so in an effort to pay it forward she has created this scholarship. “ Everyone of my students had potential, the most difficult thing was to convince them to work toward achieving it”. This scholarship will be awarded to a Blue Devil, not necessarily the most “spirited” but the Best Blue Devil who demonstrated all of the qualities that make up a Blue Devil.

The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery

The AAO-HNS is the world’s largest organization representing otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons – physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the ears, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck.

About the CORE Grants Program

Since 1985, CORE has awarded more than 800 grants and more than $14 million for research projects, research training, and career development to further the specialty of otolaryngology. These grants, ranging in award size from $5,000 to $150,000, have been essential for increasing the research base for otolaryngology.

The CORE program brings greater scale and less fragmentation and overlap to otolaryngology-head and neck surgery research opportunities, reduces the aggregate costs of the individual grant programs, and enables a comprehensive overview of the spectrum of promising otolaryngology and head and neck surgery research/researchers to promote to NIH and other agencies.

CORE Grants Program: AHNS/AAO-HNSF Translational Innovator Award

The purpose of this award is to support contemporary basic or clinical research focused on neoplastic disease by full time academic head and neck surgeons; to promote novel translational research preferably with biomarker ideas. 

Research supported by this award should be specifically directed toward the pathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of head and neck neoplastic disease, and may be either basic or clinical/translational in approach. 

J. C. & L. A. Duke Employees' Assistance Fund

Grants from the Duke Fund are designed to:

• Help recipients achieve self-sufficiency and/or return to the workplace.
• Provide transitional assistance.
• Improve the quality of life for the employee and their family.

Selection Criteria

The applicant must have experienced a combination of the following factors:

• Financial hardship as a result of a catastrophic illness or accident.
• Lack or depletion of benefits available through the 3M Benefit Plan, personal benefit plans and/or other resources.
• In addition, the applicant must be able to demonstrate that a grant will substantially assist them in overcoming all or a portion of the adversity. Awards will be made without regard to race, creed, color, gender, individual marital status, religion or national origin.

Students pursuing journalism or media careers who reside in Rhode Island or Bristol County, Massachusetts can receive up to US $15,000 for undergraduate study through the Ocean State Media Scholarship. Focused on higher education access, this Rhode Island Community Foundation program may benefit Chaves County, New Mexico nonprofits supporting eligible students in their communities.

Ornithology researchers and conservation professionals in Chaves County, New Mexico can receive recognition for significant contributions to raptor ecology and natural history through the Fran and Frederick Hamerstrom Achievement Award. Focused on advancing raptor science, Raptor Research Foundation invites nominations each spring, with recipients honored and invited to deliver a plenary lecture at its annual meeting.

With a mission to advance raptor science and conservation, Raptor Research Foundation provides Chaves County, New Mexico ornithology professionals with a prestigious, non-monetary lifetime achievement award recognizing exceptional careers in raptor research and conservation. Individuals with long-term, impactful work on birds of prey may be nominated by partner organizations for this honor.

Students presenting raptor or ornithology research with ties to Chaves County, New Mexico can receive US $325 - US $525 plus publication support for top oral and poster presentations. Grants from Raptor Research Foundation help emerging raptor researchers attend and present at its annual conference, supporting their academic and conservation careers.

Nonprofit health organizations supporting LGBTQ health in Chaves County, New Mexico can benefit when nominated physicians or medical advocates receive the Excellence in LGBTQ Health Award; each honoree directs a US $2,500 grant honorarium to a nonprofit of their choice. The American Medical Association Foundation recognizes leaders advancing LGBTQ policy, advocacy, care, research, diversity, and administration nationwide.

Students pursuing music or musical theater studies at Carnegie Mellon, Duquesne, Point Park, or the University of Pittsburgh can receive up to US $3,000 for higher education costs through the Eugene “Babe” Fabrizi Fund. Administered by the Pittsburgh Foundation, this single-year scholarship encourages reapplication and gives preference to percussionists, though all music students may apply.

Donald Franklin and Marilyn Good Holdren Scholarship

Marilyn Good Holdren was born in 1938 in Chillicothe, OH. She received her formal education at Huntington High School and Franklin School of Science and Arts. She served as a medical transcriptionist at Chillicothe Hospital for eight years, and spent the remainder of her life dedicated wo her work and friends at Battelle Memorial Institute. In 1963, she met the love of her life, Donald Franklin Holdren, and in 1975, they were married.
