Richard P. Seiter Scholarship

Richard P. Seiter was a career correctional professional who served as Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) for several years. He began working in corrections after receiving his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. Dr. Seiter established this scholarship for children of current DRC employees to recognize the commitment of these employees and their service to the State of Ohio. Dr. Seiter established the scholarship with the belief that education (just like in his own life) can set a person’s course for life and put them on the past for success. He values the dedication of people who give their careers to public service, and especially those who work in the difficult jobs of corrections. He believes that if a scholarship can help them with their children, it is an investment in the future of our country and state that is a legacy he wants to leave.

The Lillian Gorell Scholarship Fund, established by the Pittsburgh Foundation, offers financial support to deserving students, particularly benefiting blind students and those pursuing studies in the arts. Founded in 1945, the Pittsburgh Foundation emphasizes community stewardship and long-term impact through its philanthropic efforts. This scholarship aims to empower students to achieve their educational goals while enhancing the quality of life in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Bumble Bee Seafood Company Foundation Scholarship 

The Bumble Bee Seafood Company Foundation Scholarship applicants should:

• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year
• Be graduating high school seniors, current four-year, community college or trade/vocational school students
• Plan to enroll or are currently enrolled in an accredited four-year undergraduate university, community college or trade/vocational school in the United States in fall
• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Have a demonstrated financial need
• This opportunity is open to all applicants, with a focus on those furthest from opportunity and having a demonstrated financial need.

The Eleanor and Simon Weissberger Scholarship applicants should:

• Reside within the 92113 zip code
• Be graduating high school seniors
• Plan to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university, community college, or licensed career/technical school in the United States in fall
• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Have parents who did not attend college
• Show a strong commitment to their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extra-curricular activities and/or community or faith-based service
• Not major in political, social, ethnic studies, and advocacy work

The Larry Waters Scholarship

The Larry Waters Scholarship applicants should:

• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year
• Be graduating high school seniors from Kearny High, Eastlake High, and Southwest High schools who plan to enroll full-time in a four-year university, or community college with the intent to transfer to a four-year university, anywhere in the U.S.
• Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Have a demonstrated financial need

The Lauer Scholarship

The Lauer Scholarship applicants should:

• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year
• Be graduating seniors from a San Diego County public high school who plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the United States in fall
• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Be actively involved in serving their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service or work experience and must describe how they plan to give back to their community during and after college
• Have demonstrated social responsibility and a high level of integrity
• Have parents who have not received a college degree
• Have a demonstrated financial need

The Lehman Family Scholarship applicants should:

• Be graduating seniors from Lincoln, Morse or San Diego (downtown San Diego only) High Schools
• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university in the United States in fall
• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Have a demonstrated financial need
• Have a commitment to their community as demonstrated in their involvement in extracurricular activities, work or volunteer experience or church activities
• Preference for foreign born children of immigrant parents

The Leon and Margaret Williams Scholarship applicants should:

• Be graduating high school seniors

• Plan to pursue a career in health or the healthcare field
• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Have a commitment to serving their community as demonstrated by their extra-curricular, work, church, or volunteer activities
• This opportunity is open to all applicants, with a focus on those furthest from opportunity and having a demonstrated financial need.

The Intermountain Community Care Foundation awards grants to organizations whose programs align with Intermountain Health’s mission, our national community health areas of focus, and priorities identified through our Community Health Needs Assessment. By supporting evidence-based programs and services that strengthen communities, the Foundation is dedicated to helping people live the healthiest lives possible.

Social Drivers of Health Grants

To qualify for Social Drivers of Health grant funding, your program or service must align with at least one of these social drivers of health priorities:

• Improve nutrition security
• Improve stable and quality housing through wraparound and support services

Requirements

• A full and complete financial audit conducted within the last two years. Submission must include the entire audit, including any findings and the auditor's letter
• A copy of the organization's 501(c)(3) designation letter or comparable government designation
• A completed W9
• A completed Supplier Form (a blank copy will be provided in the application)

Additional information

• Applications will be accepted for new or existing programs that clearly address a social driver of health. New programs may include pilot initiatives.
• In Utah and Idaho, applicants can request a total grant award between $5,000 to $100,000 per year for 3 years (up to $300,000 total) for the entire project period. Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin upon receipt of funding.
• In Colorado, Montana, and Nevada, applicants can request a total grant award between $5,000 to $50,000 per year for 2 years (up to $100,000 total) for the entire project period. Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin upon receipt of funding.
• Budget Limitation - A funding request may not exceed 20 percent of an organization’s annual operating budget, e.g., to be eligible for a $50,000 grant, your organization’s annual operating budget must be at least $250,000.
• In general, small equipment and materials, such as jump ropes or cooking utensils are eligible, at no more than a total $5,000 cost, but large equipment, construction, and capital costs are not eligible. Consideration will be given if computer equipment is necessary and vital to the success of the project.

Child & Family Mental Well-Being Grants

To qualify for Child and Family Mental Well-Being funding, your program or service must focus on families with children. Funding priority areas include:

• Mental well-being for children, including: reducing suicide deaths; reducing frequent mental distress, anxiety, and depression; decreasing substance misuse
• Advance prevention and early intervention addressing risk and protective factors
• Expand comprehensive, family-centered, mental well-being programs
• Build trauma-informed systems for young children including evidence-based prevention, behavioral health treatment, or related interventions or programs
• Strengthen community behavioral health capacity and collaborations through coalition-building

Requirements

Special education teachers seeking additional licensing or a master’s in special education and currently working in eligible Northeast Indiana public schools can receive up to US $2,500 annually for accredited coursework. The WindSwell Foundation scholarship may interest Daggett County, Utah nonprofits that support or partner with special educators pursuing advanced training.

Research institutions and other eligible organizations working on agricultural crops and food science can seek US $400,000 - US $500,000 to improve the flavor of plant-based and fermentation-derived proteins. Focused on ingredient optimization and consumer acceptance, the Good Food Institute and partners support projects that may benefit nonprofits serving Daggett County, Utah through stronger, more sustainable food systems.

Daggett County, Utah K–12 and education-focused nonprofits can access funding through Intermountain Community Care Foundation to launch innovative programs improving educational access and outcomes. Eligible 501(c)(3) or comparable government entities in Utah may propose pilots or proven models in areas like student and educator mental health, early childhood education, technology and AI, youth support, and teacher development.

Undergraduate and graduate students connected to the U.S. Department of Energy or the National Contract Management Association can receive up to US $1,000 for higher education costs. With a mission to support education, Pittsburgh Foundation provides scholarships that Daggett County, Utah students in these groups may be eligible to pursue, including those planning careers in contracting or procurement.

High school seniors pursuing vocational, technical, or college education who meet GPA and financial-need criteria can receive single-year scholarships of US $1,000. The Pittsburgh Foundation provides Daggett County, Utah students with support for post-secondary tuition through the Coach Dave Gray Scholarship Fund, which assists eligible Western Pennsylvania students attending accredited institutions.

Graduating high school seniors in Allegheny County, PA with financial need planning post-secondary education can receive a single-year scholarship for vocational, technical, or college study. Focused on higher and vocational education, Pittsburgh Foundation’s Comptaro, Elden, Lewis Combined Scholarship Funds may benefit Daggett County, Utah nonprofits assisting eligible students from this region.

Pennsylvania high school seniors and undergraduates pursuing degrees in biology, ecology, environmental or wildlife-related studies can receive single-year scholarships of US $1,000 to attend 2- or 4-year colleges. The Pittsburgh Foundation provides this support, which may benefit Daggett County, Utah nonprofits assisting eligible Pennsylvania students or promoting related conservation education pathways.

Graduating high school seniors and current students pursuing trade, engineering, computer science, architecture, design, or other vocational studies can receive $1,000 - $2,000 in scholarship support through the Daniel R. Miller (Fretts) Memorial Scholarship Fund. Focused on vocational and higher education, this Pittsburgh Foundation program may benefit Daggett County, Utah students meeting its academic and financial-need criteria.

Graduating high school seniors pursuing engineering, manufacturing, or related trades can receive up to US $5,000 for their first year of college or trade school through the David R. Miller and Sara G. Miller Scholarship Fund. Pittsburgh Foundation provides Western Pennsylvania students with single-year awards for accredited vocational, technical, 2-year, or 4-year programs.

High-achieving high school seniors pursuing higher or vocational education can access scholarship support through the Dorothy & Richard Barr Westmoreland County High School Scholarship Fund. Administered by the Pittsburgh Foundation, this single-year award supports students with at least a 3.5 GPA and demonstrated community leadership; Daggett County, Utah students may be eligible if they meet residency requirements.

Graduating high school seniors pursuing four-year college degrees can receive single-year scholarship support, with a focus on higher education. Grants from Pittsburgh Foundation help Daggett County, Utah nonprofits identify similar scholarship models that prioritize minimum GPA standards, financial need, and demonstrated leadership, volunteerism, and community involvement for local students.

Graduating high school seniors and past scholarship recipients pursuing vocational, technical, or college education can receive up to US $5,000 toward post-secondary study, with preference for students from farming families. With a mission to support education, Pittsburgh Foundation provides scholarships that may benefit students connected to Daggett County, Utah through their academic plans.

Graduating or previously graduated high school students pursuing vocational, technical, 2- or 4-year college education can receive single-year scholarship support through the Edward J. Ferri Memorial Scholarship Fund. Grants from Pittsburgh Foundation help students connected to Allegheny, Somerset, or Westmoreland County with tuition costs; Daggett County, Utah nonprofits may share this opportunity with eligible youth they serve.

Daggett County, Utah college-bound students can access funding through Muskingum County Community Foundation’s A. Porter Spirit of ZHS Fund to support two- or four-year college or trade school costs. Eligible applicants are high school students with at least a 2.5 GPA, strong attendance, extracurricular and community involvement, demonstrated financial need, and key character qualities.
