Chautauqua County Home Auxiliary Fund

The former Chautauqua County Home Auxiliary established this fund in 2014. A scholarship is awarded annually to a current employee of the organization that now runs what was the Chautauqua County Home and who is interested in furthering his/her education in the healthcare field.

The American Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) offers a prestigious International Post-doc Research Fellowship Program aimed at supporting innovative research in cancer biology and treatment. Open to Italian citizens with advanced degrees obtained within the last three years, the program encourages applications for both basic and clinical research. Typically, applications are accepted from January to February, with fellowships granted for one year, potentially extendable for a second year.

Empowering a Better Tomorrow Scholarship

The Empowering a Better Tomorrow Scholarship, powered by Walmart, is intended to assist in the creation of a pathway for those who desire to further their education as they enter back into society. This scholarship will be available to the formerly incarcerated or those who have recently been convicted and who have completed their sentence. This scholarship will be awarded to individuals who can exhibit qualities of leadership, commitment to change, and desire to give back to their community.

• Enrolling at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States
• Planning to pursue a post-secondary degree in nursing
• Potentially renewable for three additional years

The Patient-Centered Clinical Research Young Investigator Award (PCC-YIA) supports early-career scientists conducting innovative research in bladder cancer and upper tract urothelial cancer. This award facilitates studies focusing on patient-centered outcomes, quality of care, and health disparities. Eligible applicants must be within six years of their professional degree and have mentorship from an approved institution. • Graduating senior from Black River, Holland Christian, Holland High School, West Ottawa, Zeeland East, Zeeland West, or the Careerline Tech Center
• Enrolling in a 2 or 4-year degree program at an accredited post-secondary school (including vocational/technical school) within the United States
• Financial need, a consideration (encouraged to submit the page of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing the Student Aid Index amount)
• GPA of 2.5 or greater
• Continuing studies in the visual arts either as an art major or art minor
• Recommended by high school visual art teacher
• Potentially renewable for one additional year

The NIH Common Fund is launching the RNomics program to advance RNA research through innovative technologies. This initiative focuses on developing tools for comprehensive analysis of RNA molecules, addressing current methodological limitations. Key priorities include sequencing RNA, detecting modifications, and studying RNA function across various biological contexts. The program encourages high-risk, early-stage projects that demonstrate potential for significant impact. Successful Phase 1 projects may transition to Phase 2, aimed at delivering validated resources for the research community.

The AK Chen Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, provides financial assistance to students pursuing higher education in Hawaii. Eligible applicants must be residents of Hawaii, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Preference is given to students from specific high schools and those majoring in STEM or education fields. The Hazel Herring Civic Improvement Grant, established by the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association, supports projects aimed at enhancing community spaces. Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. depends solely on donations to advance our only mission, to promote nursing leadership through annual scholarship support for professional nurses seeking masters and doctoral degrees in nursing education, practice, research, and administration.

NEF’s only purpose is to provide nursing scholarship assistance to make graduate level nursing education possible. NEF is one of the largest, national, private, professionally endorsed source of funds for advanced nursing study with over one hundred years of service to and for professional nursing. NEF is a non-profit organization with 501(c) status.

Margaret L. McClure Scholarship

Created in 2020, by Margaret L. McClure, EdD, RN, FAAN, together with NEF. This scholarship fund recognizes Dr. McClure’s distinguished career. Her many accomplishments include: leading the team that conducted the original research study responsible for the Magnet Hospital program under the auspices of the American Academy of Nursing. She concluded her full-time career at the New York University Medical Center, where through the courses of two decades, she served as the executive director of nursing and administrator for hospital and institutional affairs and as vice president for hospital operations. She also served in the United States Army Nurse Corps Reserve and retired with the rank of colonel.

Dr. McClure has served Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. as a board member, officer, and now emeritus member upon her retirement. This scholarship recognizes graduate nurse leaders for their academic, research, administration, and health care policy roles.

The George C. Decas Scholarship, managed by the SouthCoast Community Foundation, offers financial support to graduating high school seniors from Wareham, Massachusetts. Established to assist local students, the scholarship awards recipients over four years contingent upon their academic progress. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities and foster community development, reflecting the Foundation's commitment to philanthropy and regional improvement since 1995.

Margaret Gould Tyson Scholarship

Dr. Tyson was a very active NEF Board member for many years and the Dean at Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. Since her death in 2008, the Margaret Gould Tyson scholarship has been given annually to a doctoral applicant studying nursing education.

The George Earl and Katherine Hartley Church Scholarship, managed by the SouthCoast Community Foundation, offers annual scholarships to graduating seniors from Acushnet, Rochester, Marion, and Mattapoisett, MA, as well as students from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. This scholarship is aimed at those pursuing nursing degrees (LPN, RN, or BSN) at accredited two- or four-year colleges. It aims to support local students in achieving their educational goals.
