Community Foundation of Henderson County
Community Foundation of Henderson County was incorporated in 1982 by a group of fourteen dedicated and compassionate local leaders with the immediate need to manage two funds - the William C. Armstrong Scholarship Fund and the Charlie Renfrow Scholarship Fund, in addition to providing a permanent vehicle for citizens to give back to their community.
Our Mission is to help people who care make lasting contributions to causes that matter. The Community Foundation of Henderson County is a highly visible, philanthropic leader directed by an engaged and committed board, staffed by qualified employees, empowering donors at all levels to invest in professionally managed charitable funds that address community needs.
Martha Sales Schoch Scholarship
Applicant must be enrolled as a senior in a public, parochial or private school or be a graduate of such school and intend to enroll in a degree-granting program in an accredited college, university, community college or technical school. Applicant must be an active member of Fletcher United Methodist Church for two years prior to applying for this scholarship. Applicant should have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and a minimum SAT score of 800. The applicant should demonstrate financial need and should demonstrate involvement in United Methodist activities. Applicant must be of good moral character and reflect a willingness to work, learn, and pursue an education.
Hilcorp Future Leaders of America Scholarship
Benefiting select communities across the United States where Hilcorp operates.
The Hilcorp Future Leaders of America Scholarship Program was developed to give back to the communities in which Hilcorp Energy Company operates to develop future leadership talent as the next innovators, educators, and business leaders.
Award Amount
Multiple scholarships awarded annually. The scholarship is comprised of up to four (4) annual awards of $2,500, for a total award of up to $10,000.
The four annual (4) awards may be received over a period of up to 6 years, allowing for deferment if needed.
Stark Community FoundationStark Community Foundation is one of the area’s major sources of college scholarship support— thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, families and businesses that have created scholarship funds.The Foundation currently manages more than 100 scholarship funds that support hundreds of deserving students each year from Stark and Carroll counties. In 2025, more than $1,000,000 was awarded to local students to help them achieve their educational dreams.Adrienne O’Neill Scholarship FundThe Adrienne O’Neill Scholarship Fund was established to assist students who are the first generation in their family to attend college. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5, demonstrate financial need and intend to utilize this scholarship as the “last dollars” after all aid/scholarships have been awarded.Renewable Scholarship: Yes
