David R. Miller and Sara G. Miller Scholarship Fund

The David R. Miller and Sara G. Miller Scholarship Fund was created at The Pittsburgh Foundation to provide scholarships for first year college students from Western Pennsylvania pursuing courses of study in engineering or manufacturing, or related trades.

P.U.L.S.E. of Noble County is a group of service-minded youth who meet monthly to organize community projects that benefit Noble County and grant philanthropic dollars to other organizations making an impact. This scholarship is for Noble County high school seniors who are P.U.L.S.E. members and are pursuing a post high school education.

Simon and Donna Dragan Scholarship Fund

Created in 2025 by Simon and Donna Dragan, this scholarship will provide financial support to students enrolled in a trade school to further their construction skills and/or students pursuing a two- or four-year college degree in engineering or construction. 

Simon Dragan is a native of Vurpar, Transylvania, Romania. He came to the United States after escaping Communist Romania in 1969 and held a variety of entry-level positions in the Baltimore area before finding work with Williams-Scotsman, a distributor of modular and mobile buildings. Mr. Dragan worked in various roles at Williams- Scotsman, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President of Operations. In 1993, he purchased Whitley Manufacturing from Williams-Scotsman—a factory located in South Whitley, Indiana—and developed it into one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of modular structures. Under his leadership, Whitley expanded from a single facility into a nationwide enterprise serving diverse markets including education, healthcare, government, retail, and commercial sectors.

A visionary leader in the modular construction industry, Mr. Dragan was inducted into the Modular Building Institute (MBI) Hall of Fame in 2002 in recognition of his lasting contributions to modular design and manufacturing excellence. In July 2025, Mr. Dragan sold Whitley Manufacturing to Sunbelt Modular, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Grateful for the opportunities he found in the United States, Mr. Dragan has given back extensively to various nonprofit organizations and charitable causes.

The Engineering Technology Scholarships, offered by ASHRAE, provide one-year financial support to full-time undergraduate students pursuing degrees in HVAC&R-related fields. To qualify, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or rank in the top 30% of their class, and they must meet specific criteria related to ASHRAE student branches or program accreditation. The Lynn G. Bellenger Engineering Technology Scholarship honors ASHRAE's first woman president and supports qualified female undergraduate engineering technology students. The Gordon V. R. Holness Engineering Technology Scholarship aims to support full-time undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Engineering Technology related to HVAC&R. Established by Gordon Holness, this scholarship highlights the importance of education in sustainable technology. Eligible candidates must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and meet specific institutional criteria, promoting excellence in the HVAC&R profession and fostering a sustainable built environment for future generations.

Native Forward awards are allocated based on the financial aid information provided by the institution’s Financial Aid Office. Awards can vary, ranging from $100 to $30,000 per academic year.

Native Forward Scholars Fund members of federally and state-recognized Tribes as well as first and second-generation descendants. However, Native Forward Scholars Fund scholarship opportunities have different Tribal eligibility requirements and can be determined by submitting a Tribal Eligibility Certificate.

Lynne Ruth Lafin Elmore Sucher Scholarship

This opportunity is provided to honor the life and legacy of Lynn Ruth Lafin Elmore Sucher.

The purpose of the Lynn Ruth Lafin Elmore Scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native graduate students attending full-time at an accredited institution pursuing mathematics, Medicine, or life sciences are eligible to apply.

Armstrong County Community Foundation (The Community Foundation Serving the Heart of Western Pennsylvania)

In 1997 Merchants National Bank, an Armstrong County community bank, marked its 100th anniversary. The centennial celebration included a unique expression of gratitude to the community in the form of $100,000 to be used as a seed fund to initiate a community foundation for Armstrong County. The bank challenged the community to keep the principal balance of the endowed funds intact and spend only a portion of the interest earnings to ensure a lasting legacy.

In accordance with the mission of the Foundation, the purpose of the Fund is to provide a scholarship to an individual who was a resident of Armstrong County at the time of graduation from high school or who was a graduate of a school district with an attendance area including Armstrong County. The Staff Research Program, initiated by the ARO, aims to enhance the professional skills of its scientific staff through collaborative basic research with external institutions. This program encourages hands-on scientific investigations in various fields, including engineering and life sciences, while ensuring the integrity of the ARO's mission. ARO scientists will not act as principal investigators on proposals but will contribute to research outcomes and educational activities, fostering knowledge advancement and collaboration.

The Sustainable Slopes Grant Program, initiated by the National Ski Areas Association in 2009, supports NSAA member ski areas in their sustainability efforts. With over $890,000 awarded, the program facilitates projects that enhance energy efficiency, protect natural habitats, and promote recycling. This year, applicants can apply for Cash Grants, the Herman K. Dupré Sustainable Snowmaking Grant, or the new Recycling Grant, all aimed at reducing environmental footprints and achieving sustainability goals.

The Fiscal Year 2027 AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Competition invites communities to apply for funding aimed at engaging adults aged 55 and older in addressing pressing local needs. James Brasington Theater Scholarship

This scholarship is for a student wo is attending school full-time pursuing an undergraduate degree intending to study theater arts. Preference to a student who shows interest in and affinity for the art of acting and shows financial need. This scholarship can be renewed 3 additional years.

Lakeview High School Class of 2020 Senior Scholarship Fund

The Senior class of 2020 exemplified strength and perseverance in an unprecedented time of change, disappointment, and new concepts of learning due to the Corona Virus (COVID-19) Epidemic. Through private funding of the Senior parent class committee, the amount of $6,000,00 has been raised, and will be provided in $1,000.00 increments per year, until the amount is no longer available. The fund will be awarded to an eligible Senior student who is able to provide a well written, profound, 500-word essay, explaining how they have persevered in their life, in spite of difficulty, in order to be successful by example, as they go forward in the next phase of their life.

USA Football’s Flag Equipment Grant supports youth organizations and schools in need of flag belts and footballs for girls flag football programs. Eligible applicants include legally designated non-profits in good standing with USA Football. The grant provides USA Football-branded equipment, with quantities determined by the application responses. Organizations are unable to select items from a catalog, as awards are issued directly from warehouse partners, ensuring accessibility for participants.

The American Indian Services: Trade Scholarship offers financial support for American Indian and Alaska Native students pursuing trade education. Since its inception over 40 years ago, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 35,000 Native students. Eligible applicants can receive up to $2500, with distinct deadlines for January and September awards. This initiative aims to empower Native students by facilitating access to trade school opportunities.

American Association of University Women West Chester – Chester County Affiliate

Mission Statement

The American Association of University Women West Chester – Chester County Affiliate Scholarship was created in 1998 by the AAUW West Chester-Chester County Branch to recognize member Alice Lawson’s commitment to the mission and values of AAUW, the nation’s leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls. The purpose of this fund is to provide educational scholarships to women from Chester County with special needs and circumstances.

Alice was a lifelong member of AAUW. Wherever she and her husband lived, Alice always joined the local AAUW, knowing she would meet and enjoy the company of other college-educated women. Of the many activities she enjoyed in West Chester, her AAUW book group was probably her favorite.

The award amount may vary from year to year. For the 2026/27 school year, we are awarding two $7,500 scholarships.

Compeer Financial's High School Senior Scholarship Program offers 105 scholarships of $2,000 each to graduating seniors in its 144-county territory. Eligible candidates must demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, and a passion for agriculture. Special consideration is given to dependents of Compeer clients and students from metropolitan areas. This competitive program aims to support the future leaders of agriculture and rural America, with awards paid directly to the recipients' colleges.
