About Us
We help shelters and rescue groups save pets.
Saving pets. Together.
The Petfinder Foundation has been helping animal shelters and rescue groups since 2003. We are the ONLY national organization that does nothing but give cash and product grants to adoption groups.
Operation Grant
Grants vary depending on the organization’s need to support the number of adoptable pets listed on Petfinder and are awarded on a monthly basis throughout the year until all funds are depleted.
Single Ventricle Research Fund (SVRF)
Our flagship funding program — the Single Ventricle Research Fund (SVRF) — is an annual research award program that supports foundational studies aimed at improving outcomes for individuals with single ventricle heart disease. By addressing the organ- and multi-organ-level complications and clinical sequelae that drive long-term morbidity and mortality, the SVRF seeks to close critical gaps in understanding and treatment, and accelerate progress toward better, more predictive, and preventative care.In its sixth cycle, the SVRF welcomes foundational research that is directly relevant to improving outcomes for individuals with single ventricle heart disease.
What Fits
Through the SVRF, Additional Ventures aims to accelerate foundational research that will lead to improved care and new therapeutic opportunities grounded in a mechanistic understanding of single ventricle heart disease.
The 2027 SVRF welcomes research aligned with the focus areas and strategic topics described in the Additional Ventures’ 2026 Research Roadmap. We are particularly interested in proposals that seek to elucidate the mechanisms underlying, prevent, or reverse the interrelated organ- and multi-organ-level sequelae that contribute to long-term morbidity and mortality.
Eligible investigators include postdoctoral fellows or equivalents holding a mentored position. Collaborative proposals will not be accepted through this track.

JAHF New Partners Program Call for Proposals:
National Initiatives Advancing Improvements in Care for Older Adults
The John A. Hartford Foundation (JAHF) is entering a new chapter that builds on its work to improve care for older adults and support family caregivers while bringing new organizations, leaders and ideas into its community of grantees and partners.
Through this funding opportunity, JAHF is seeking proposals from organizations that have not previously received a major grant from the foundation.
Proposed initiatives must have a national or multi-site scope and align with at least one of the foundation's three priority areas:
Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism
Louisiana’s great outdoors and state parks are a great way for visitors to see the Sportsman’s Paradise while visiting our recreational and historic sites. The Louisiana Office of Tourism's vision is to market and promote the brand of Feed Your Soul showcasing Louisiana as a travel destination, increasing revenue generated by the tourism industry and contributing to the economic impact of tourism in all 64 parishes. The Office of Tourism partners with tourism professionals and industry stakeholders in private and public sectors to extend and enhance their efforts to reach domestic and international consumers and travel trade.
Louisiana Competitive Grant Program
The CGP (Competitive Grant Program) for FY 26-27 is offered to encourage and support marketing for Louisiana fairs, festivals and other eligible tourism events that attract and retain visitors to the state and have a positive impact on Louisiana’s economy. The maximum award per applicant is $15,000 for advertising expenses, with a reimbursable match paid after the tourism event ends.
The tourism event must take place in Louisiana between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027. CGP applications must be received a minimum of 90 days prior to the start of the tourism event.
The Bee Foundation For Brain Aneurysm Prevention (TBF) invites proposals that further the mission of reducing the number of deaths caused by brain aneurysms. Proposals directed at understanding the early detection, pathophysiology, genetic predisposition, or treatment will take priority. Proposals from a variety of disciplines (including but not limited to translational Neurosciences, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Radiology, Genetics) are encouraged and multidisciplinary proposals that illustrate a multi-faceted approach will be weighted highly. The purpose of this program is to promote novel approaches to the early detection and prevention of ruptured cerebral aneurysms, or early emergency and critical care treatment (excluding device therapies). We invite proposals that test an innovative hypothesis or develop new outcomes via interdisciplinary or translational research. Applications with more than one investigator must indicate how the different expertise of the co-investigators will contribute to the overall goals of the project. Grant Funding:
Elizabeth Ratta, a brain aneurysm survivor and a Bee Foundation ‘share your story’ contributor is passionate about spreading brain aneurysm awareness and particularly in the populations they disproportionately affect- those who are Black, Hispanic and women. This research grant is named for Elizabeth’s grandma, Rita who had an unruptured brain aneurysm, but at a time when there was limited treatment and support.About Rita Skertich GrantThe Rita Skertich Grant is specifically intended to fund research topics that focus on prevention and treatment of brain aneurysms in the Black and Hispanic population and women; the populations most affected by brain aneurysms. African Americans and Hispanics are twice as likely to have a rupture compared to white Americans. Women are more likely than men (3:2 ratio) to have a brain aneurysm and 1.5 times more at risk of rupture than men. The research funded by this grant will support efforts to improve outcomes, accessibility and a greater understanding of discrepancies in the statistics for these populations with a focus on prevention. The preference is that this grant will be given to a Black, Hispanic and/or female researcher with other underrepresented research groups also considered.Grant Funding:
