Verne and Ardith Forbes Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior of any high school program in Dell Rapids, SD, or a graduating senior from a public high school program in Huron, SD. This award is renewable for one additional year if requirements are met and if funds are available.

The 2026 Radiation Oncology Institute- Innovation Awards aim to advance cancer treatment by integrating radiation therapy with immunotherapy. Researchers are invited to submit proposals that explore optimal combinations of these modalities to enhance patient outcomes. Funding of up to $100,000 over two years will support projects focused on identifying effective treatment strategies, understanding mechanisms of synergy, and improving access to care. Jack & Jean Ereon Scholarship

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of the family of Doug Ereon, who established the Jack & Jean Ereon Scholarship Fund of the Community Foundation for Mason County.

Doug Ereon credits scholarships with making his college education possible and leading to a successful career in oil and gas. Inspired by his own experiences and the support of his parents, Jack and Jean Ereon, Doug established this scholarship fund. Jack and Jean were devoted community members; Jack played a key role in developing Ludington's marina, and Jean always encouraged her children to pursue higher education despite financial constraints.

This Fund will support scholarships for graduates of any Mason County High School pursuing a degree or certification at any accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school. The Jack and Jean Ereon Scholarship Fund provides unlimited renewals until education is complete, with the hope that deserving local students can pursue higher education without the burden of mounting debt. 

The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation (VLCF) has played a pivotal role in cancer research and education since its inception in 1971, raising over $21 million to support innovative treatments and compassionate care. This private foundation invites applications from recognized healthcare institutions, focusing on funding scientific and medical fellowships. Community Foundation of Henderson County was incorporated in 1982 by a group of fourteen dedicated and compassionate local leaders with the immediate need to manage two funds - the William C. Armstrong Scholarship Fund and the Charlie Renfrow Scholarship Fund, in addition to providing a permanent vehicle for citizens to give back to their community.

Dan and Amy Pace Scholarship

This scholarship provides financial support to students who are graduates of a public high school in Henderson County and who plan to pursue a certification to teach high school English.

The Friends of Carl Sandburg Donald E. Hubbs Scholarship Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, aims to support Henderson County residents pursuing college degrees in Conservation, Animal Science, or Parks and Recreation. Robert and Vivian Edwards Scholarship

This scholarship is for a graduate of a Henderson County public, private or parochial high school who plans to enter into the field of veterinary medicine or related studies. This scholarship may be utilized for undergraduate and/or post-graduate studies. The recipient must be a legal resident of the United States.

The New Music Organization Fund Grant supports non-profit organizations and performance groups dedicated to promoting new music and nurturing creators. This grant prioritizes artistic merit, community impact, immediate funding needs, and a commitment to inclusion. Eligible entities can apply for assistance to sustain their vital programming and resources for artists, ensuring the continued development of a vibrant music community.

Ludington Hospital Medical Staff Physicians Scholarship

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of the Corewell Health Ludington Hospital Medical Staff, which established the Ludington Hospital Medical Staff Physicians Scholarship Fund of the Community Foundation for Mason County.

The award is renewable throughout college and medical school as long as the recipient demonstrates academic success and continues on the medical school track. The medical staff's goal in providing this scholarship is to reduce the burden of student loan debt, inspire young people to pursue medicine, and encourage them to return to Mason County to practice upon completing their training.

The Barbara and Frank Quadrato Veterinary Scholarship, established by the Connecticut Community Foundation, supports students pursuing veterinary medicine, prioritizing those from Woodbury or Bethlehem. Open to Taylor County graduates pursuing higher education or trade certifications, applicants must demonstrate past contributions to society and outline their future commitment to community service. Established by Hannah Durbin, a dedicated Air Force veteran and educator, this scholarship aims to empower students with awards ranging from $500 to over $5,000.

The Dr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Sullivan Scholarship, established in 1923 by the Connecticut Community Foundation, supports students entering or currently enrolled in accredited medical schools. As one of the largest scholarship providers in the Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills region, this scholarship is available only in even years (2026, 2028, 2030), helping students achieve their educational aspirations through the generosity of local donors.

The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business Scholarship, offered by the Connecticut Community Foundation, provides a one-time award to first-year or transfer students pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree at Post University in Waterbury, CT. The Flavorful Futures Scholarship, established by Talking Rain Beverage Company, offers a $5,000 award to high school seniors pursuing higher education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a minimum GPA of 2.5, graduating between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026. This scholarship aims to support students who are passionate about contributing to their communities while pursuing vocational or academic programs.

The Stone Owl Scholars Scholarships, offered by the Community Foundation of Abilene, provide a one-time award of $3,000 to 120 high school juniors and seniors who complete a 9-week program.
