DHHL is seeking grant proposals statewide for improvements to facilities located in existing homesteads on Hawaiian Home Lands. The facility must serve existing homestead communities and benefit DHHL homestead lessees. Proposed projects may include but are not limited to any project listed in any HHC-approved DHHL Regional Plan, including those listed as "Potential" or "Priority" Projects. Projects may include but are not limited to all project phases: planning, due diligence, design, construction for infrastructure, and community facilities in existing homesteads. Projects must benefit DHHL homestead lessees in implementing their homestead visions as described in DHHL Regional Plans. Partnerships and teams of DHHL beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries, including individuals and organizations, are encouraged to apply. Projects must be beneficiary-driven, demonstrate beneficiary leadership and assistance, and benefit existing DHHL homestead lessees.

The Community Grants Program: East Hawaii Fund supports nonprofit organizations working to enhance the well-being of East Hawai‘i communities. It prioritizes projects that address educational opportunities, strengthen intergenerational relationships, promote economic sufficiency, and improve social conditions. Grants typically last one year, up to $10,000, and encourage collaborative efforts among various community sectors. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, community groups, and school projects that align with the fund's priorities.

Mobile Beacon's Connect for Success program addresses the digital divide by providing schools with essential technology resources. HLP Hamakua Community Foundation Grants

The Foundation will provide special community service grants to support research or community-based projects, programs, or other activities ("the activity") which result in the improvement of the economic, cultural, and social welfare of the communities in the Hamakua District. These grants will be made from time to time, and not necessarily on an annual basis, although the Foundation intends to make such grants available annually.

The following are possible examples of the kinds of projects that the Selection Committee would be willing to consider in accordance with the foregoing criteria: economic development and business formation projects, cultural and education projects aimed at increasing public awareness and knowledge of the Hamakua District's historical and cultural heritage, projects to support the formation or strengthening of community youth organizations (e.g., Girls and Boys Scouts), projects to support job fairs and other employment opportunities, etc.
