High Impact Grant

• Grants are available in the following areas: arts and culture, community and economic well-being, environment, health, human services, recreation, and technology.
• Only one high impact grant will be awarded annually to a project with a large positive community impact.
• Grantees have 2 years to complete the project. During this period the grantee is prohibited from applying for additional Community Foundation grant funding.
• Once the project has been completed the organization is eligible for further Community Foundation funding through community grants or high impact grants.
• Applicants are highly encouraged to meet with Osceola County Economic Development Director before applying to ensure applications are filled out correctly.
• The CFOC board looks for projects that address significant community issues; present innovative, creative, and practical proposals which build on community strengths; develop the leadership potential of the community; involve people served in the planning and implementation of the program; provide a plan for sustainability beyond the funding period; capital projects that impact a significant number of Osceola County residents

Robert F. Gagel, M.D. Community Leadership Award

The Robert F. Gagel, M.D. Community Leadership Award recognizes a healthcare professional who has made outstanding contributions to improving osteoporosis care and increasing community awareness about bone health. This award will be presented annually to a healthcare professional residing and working in the United States or its territories.

The Executive Committee of the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation’s (BHOF’s) Board of Trustees will review nominations and select the recipient.

The award winner will be notified and announced in May, in recognition of Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month. The recipient will receive a plaque and a financial award (currently $1,000) to support community service efforts initiatives related to osteoporosis and bone health.

The JoAnne and Jim Haag Scholarship, administered by the Crown Point Community Foundation, supports South Lake County residents pursuing education in Building Trades or Auto/Diesel Mechanics. Open to graduating high school seniors, college students, and adult learners, this scholarship aims to enhance local educational opportunities. The Clarence W. Winter Charitable Trust, established from Mr. Winter's Will, provides annual grants of $3,000 to $5,000 to support tax-exempt organizations focused on charitable, religious, scientific, literary, or educational purposes. The Tribal Institutional Review Board Establishment and Enhancement (TIRBEE) award aims to assist federally recognized AI/AN Tribes, Tribal colleges and universities, and Tribal health organizations in creating or enhancing Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). This initiative is crucial for ensuring ethical research practices within Tribal communities, fostering cultural sensitivity in research, and protecting the rights of AI/AN participants. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization.
