About the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG)
THDA administers the federally funded Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program on behalf of the State of Tennessee to fund the provision of services necessary to help persons who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness to quickly regain stability in permanent housing.

Mental Health Block Grant
The federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has grant funding available for community-based organizations that serve children diagnosed with serious emotional disturbance as well as services for adults living with serious mental illness. The only stipulation on this mental health services block grant funding, is that the programming focus on prevention, recovery, and providing services not covered by third party payment.
The Mental Health Block Grant Annual Report is submitted to SAMHSA annually to provide information on purchases made with block grant dollars.
