Grants of up to $10,000 support school-wide projects, with smaller grants available for other activities. Eligible applicants include educators and community organization leaders focused on autism awareness, particularly in low-income areas. This initiative fosters inclusive relationships and understanding between children and their autistic peers.

The Jean Griswold Foundation (JGF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Caregivers through educational opportunities and scholarships. 

Our Mission

The mission of the Jean Griswold Foundation is to support Caregivers by providing educational scholarships* to enable them to further their training, enhance their careers, and better assist the clients they serve.

By offering educational scholarships*, our Foundation will not only make a positive impact on the Caregivers themselves, but also the clients they assist and the home healthcare agencies where they are employed, as well as help advance the overarching home-care industry.

Scholarships will be paid directly to the federally accredited educational institutions of the winning Scholars’ choosing.

Empowering Caregivers Through Education

The Jean Griswold Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships to deserving Caregivers who wish to further their education in a care-related field. Applicants do not have to be associated with Griswold in any way, and the funds will be paid directly to the institution where the caregiver will be receiving education.

The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.

The Family Fun & Connections Event Grant Program, initiated by the Colburn-Keenan Foundation, aims to support community engagement through events for families affected by bleeding disorders. This program, established after a successful 10th Anniversary Celebration, offers $1,000 grants for various fun activities such as dance parties, BBQs, and outdoor adventures. It emphasizes the foundation's commitment to enhancing the lives of those with chronic illnesses and promoting community strength and advocacy.

The Marcy Shulman Memorial Organization Grant Program, established by the Colburn-Keenan Foundation, supports organizations improving the lives of individuals with chronic illnesses, particularly within the bleeding disorders community. Proposals should enhance health and quality of life, with examples including educational programs and facility upgrades. Only 501(c)3 organizations are eligible, and they may receive one grant per cycle. Applications must be submitted at least two months prior to the project start date.

The William F. Holmes / Frank D’Accone Dissertation Fellowship in Opera Studies, awarded by the American Musicological Society, supports dissertation research in opera studies for graduate students. Offering a stipend of $25,000, this fellowship is based on academic merit and aims to facilitate full-time study. Recipients may opt for a non-stipendiary award to allow more funding for others. Selection occurs in spring, with announcements made in summer.

The Innovations in Alzheimer’s Caregiving Awards, overseen by the Family Caregiver Alliance, recognize organizations that enhance support for family caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. These awards highlight innovative approaches in three categories: Creative Expression, Increasing Access and Reducing Stigma, and Public Policy. Each award is valued at $20,000, and applicants must be non-profit organizations, government agencies, or universities operating within the U.S. that focus on the needs of unpaid caregivers.

The Lung Cancer Discovery Award, offered by the American Lung Association, supports innovative research aimed at improving outcomes for lung cancer patients. With funding of $100,000 per year for up to two years, this award encourages groundbreaking projects that enhance diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, investigate genetic forms of lung cancer, and develop novel screening methods. The initiative is a vital step towards reducing lung cancer morbidity and mortality, ultimately improving patient care and saving lives.

The Hasting Innovation Award for Interstitial Lung Disease, offered by the American Lung Association, provides $75,000 annually for up to two years to support early-career researchers. This award targets investigators with proven excellence and a track record of accomplishment, aiming to advance lung disease science. Successful candidates must have held a K or R type award within the last three to five years, fostering innovation and discovery in lung health.

The Suzanne G. Cusick Professional Development Fund, offered by the American Musicological Society, provides $500 grants to support low-income scholars in music and sound studies. These grants aim to enhance professional development for independent scholars and contingent faculty who lack access to such opportunities. The Alvin H. Johnson AMS 50 Fellowship supports PhD candidates in music scholarship during their final dissertation year. Awarded based on academic merit, it offers a $25,000 stipend for full-time study, with no tuition coverage. Applicants must be registered doctoral students in good standing at North American universities, having completed all requirements except the dissertation. The fellowship emphasizes timely completion, discouraging extensive employment during the term, and is non-renewable.

HCLTech Grant Edition II focuses on impactful climate action by investing $5 million over five years to support NGOs in the Americas. Applications are invited for studies that build on promising pilot work, focusing on scalable delivery models and technology use. Eligible applicants are academic researchers based in the U.S. who can demonstrate rigorous research capabilities. The foundation plans to award up to two grants of $100,000 each year for two years.

The AMS Explore Travel Grant supports current or recent undergraduate students to present 10-minute papers at the 2025 AMS-SMT Joint Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. The American Musicological Society offers Affiliate Grants to support study group activities with up to $500 in funding, covering no more than 50% of total costs. Applications are accepted twice a year, with deadlines on August 1 and January 15. Only elected representatives of AMS study groups can apply, and groups may receive funding only once in a twelve-month period. Funds must be utilized within a year of the award date.

The Manny Heaton Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Manny Heaton, a vibrant individual whose life was tragically cut short in April 2023. Established by his father, Tom Heaton, this annual scholarship supports the children of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) employees. Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.0, planning to attend college or technical school, reflecting Manny's dedication and resilience.

The Peyronie's Disease Fund, managed by the HealthWell Foundation, aims to alleviate financial burdens for underinsured patients suffering from Peyronie's disease. This condition involves the formation of fibrous scar tissue in the penis, leading to painful erections and erectile dysfunction. The fund provides financial assistance for prescription drugs and related healthcare costs, ensuring that patients receive necessary treatment without the stress of high out-of-pocket expenses. The RFA: Biology to Prevention Award (CRUK) aims to foster innovative translational research that enhances understanding of cancer biology, ultimately leading to effective prevention strategies. Joint applications from UK and US research teams are encouraged, with a focus on equal partnerships and complementary expertise. The funding provides up to £600,000 for UK costs and up to $946,000 for US costs, supporting projects of 1 to 5 years duration that address critical research questions in cancer prevention.

The Tommy Wells Foundation Grant supports youth aged 4-18 in music and hockey programs by providing financial assistance. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Foundation raises funds to honor Tommy Wells' legacy. Organizations in the greater Nashville, TN area are preferred for funding. The TWF encourages applicants to request funds for those who will benefit most, ensuring accountability by requiring confirmation of fund usage within a year.

The AGA-Gastric Cancer Foundation Ben Feinstein Memorial Research Scholar Award provides $100,000 annually for three years to early-career faculty dedicated to gastric cancer research. Eligible candidates must have an MD, PhD, or equivalent and a full-time faculty position in North America. The award supports research in various areas related to gastric cancer, ensuring a minimum of 50% time commitment to the project, thus fostering independent careers in digestive diseases.
