The MASOT Conney W. Berger Jr. Memorial Graduate Student Award, established in honor of a dedicated toxicologist, supports doctoral students in toxicology/pharmacology. Eligible candidates must present at the MASOT meeting and meet specific criteria, including GPA requirements and MASOT membership. This award, valued at $500, encourages academic excellence and is made possible through the generous support of SafeBridge Consultants, Inc.

The Cultural Capital Fellowship offers $10,000 grants to Native artists and culture bearers dedicated to community outreach and cultural preservation. This fellowship strengthens the Collective Spirit of First Peoples artists, emphasizing the importance of passing on ancestral knowledge and maintaining cultural sharing. Eligible applicants must have strong ties to their Native community and be committed to sustaining cultural practices. The AED Grant Program, run by the Hopey’s Heart Foundation, aims to enhance sports safety by providing life-saving AEDs to eligible schools and recreational centers. The Foundation focuses on preventing Sudden Cardiac Arrest among student athletes through education and medical equipment. The Fine Arts Future Development Scholarship supports two different areas of study:

Fine Arts Future Development Higher Education Scholarship

Graduation high school seniors in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud, and Jewell Counties, that are pursuing a major in Instrumental Music or Art.

Each year, AFS presents awards to its members and partners for unique contributions that directly or indirectly impact fisheries science. Each year there is a call for award nominations recognizing professional excellence and/or outstanding contributions to conservation, education, and service.

Distinguished Service Award

Recognizes outstanding contributions of time and energy for special projects or activities by AFS members. The number of recipients may vary. A single member, a group of members, and AFS staff are eligible candidates. Nominations should include description of the outstanding contributions by the candidate(s).

• MyPath- Goldberg Scholarship Fund for MVCAP
  • Awarded to Trumbull County or Mahoning County students participating in MyPath programming or advising, with priority given to students who are or have been in foster care. 

The High-End Instrumentation (HEI) Grant Program, offered by the NIH, invites applications for purchasing or upgrading high-end, specialized instruments, with a minimum award of $750,001 and a maximum of $2,000,000. This program supports NIH investigators aiming to enhance their research capabilities through advanced technologies such as mass spectrometers and electron microscopes. Brothers Helping Brothers is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential tools and equipment to small and rural fire departments. The Patricia Goodman Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Central Kentucky Community Foundation, supports graduating high school seniors in the CKCF service area, prioritizing Hardin County residents. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 and intend to pursue a career in nursing or a related medical field. This scholarship aims to empower future healthcare professionals while enriching community life through educational opportunities.

The Nugent McGrew Scholarship, provided by the Central Kentucky Community Foundation, aims to support graduating seniors from Grayson or Hardin County who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to their education. The Jennifer Easton Community Spirit Award honors Native artists who have dedicated their lives to sharing cultural knowledge and ancestral gifts. With a grant of $50,000, this award supports artists deeply rooted in their communities, fostering healing and resilience. Nominations are open for practicing artists across various mediums, including music, dance, and storytelling, ensuring the continuation of Indigenous traditions and the enrichment of Native culture.

The CFF/NIH R01-Unfunded Award, offered by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, supports exceptional CF-related research projects that have been submitted to NIH but lack funding. This program aims to bridge the gap for meritorious projects, providing up to $125,000 per year for two years. By facilitating research in cystic fibrosis, the foundation helps ensure that innovative ideas can continue to progress toward improving care and outcomes for individuals affected by this disease.
