Maureen Curry Inspiration Scholarship

Artist as Entrepreneur Program

An intensive professional development program for artists of all disciplines, ranging from 1 to 3.5 days.

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist as Entrepreneur Program is an intensive professional development opportunity that serves artists and creatives of all disciplines (including visual, literary, and performing arts, among others). This 3.5 day program delves into the fundamental principles of sustainability in the arts, empowering artists with the tools to imagine and pursue success as they define it.

Whether you’re looking for a shift in thinking, strategies for your arts/creative business, or peer networks, this program provides dynamic planning tools for building a blueprint for your creative practice or arts project.

This program is made possible through New York State Council on the Arts, State & Local Partnerships with the support of the Governor’s Office and the New York State Legislature.

NYSCA/NYFA Artist as Entrepreneur Program, Presented by Saratoga Arts

Artists of all disciplines based in Saratoga, Fulton, and Montgomery Counties in New York State are encouraged to apply to participate in this FREE entrepreneurial program to be presented in Saratoga Springs, NY by Saratoga Arts from October 22-25, 2026.

The OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program aims to enhance the prosecutorial capacity of state, local, Tribal, and territorial agencies by assigning qualified prosecutors as Special Attorneys. These prosecutors will investigate and prosecute fraud and other crimes committed by aliens in the U.S., as well as drug and human trafficking cases. This initiative, coordinated with federal authorities, seeks to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and ensure effective enforcement of criminal laws.

The McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience offers Scholar Awards to early-career neuroscientists focusing on learning and memory disorders. The awards provide up to $225,000 over three years, emphasizing research that could lead to significant clinical advancements. Eligible candidates must work as independent investigators at U.S. non-profit institutions, hold an Assistant Professor position for less than four years, and demonstrate their research program's potential. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old, live in designated areas, and either direct their film or secure fiscal sponsorship. The program fosters community storytelling and aims to amplify diverse voices in media.

The Small Instruments and Modern Equipment program invites shared-use biomedical research facilities to apply for funding to purchase small instruments or scientific equipment. These resources, which may include core facilities and biorepositories, aim to enhance operational efficiency and support the use of innovative technologies. Funding is specifically targeted for instruments that produce outputs beyond traditional digital data, excluding highly specialized or building-level infrastructure equipment.

The Truth Initiative Tobacco/Vape-Free College Program offers grants of up to $20,000 to U.S. colleges and universities aiming to implement 100% tobacco/vape-free policies. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is inviting applications for the Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPOREs) in Human Cancers for 2027-2029. This funding opportunity supports innovative translational research aimed at improving prevention, detection, and treatment of organ-specific cancers. Eligible projects may address related cancer types from the same organ system or focus on common biological mechanisms. The program emphasizes research that translates findings into clinical applications, with the goal of achieving a human endpoint during the grant period.

Neuroscience & Society Grants

Applicants may request up to $150,000 in funding for projects over a period of up to 18 months.

Neuroscience and society is the interdisciplinary study of how neuroscience informs and reflects society, and practical work to put these ideas into action. Neuroscience and society includes fields where neuroscience interfaces with the world, such as ethics, law, humanities, medicine, arts, social sciences, policy, education, journalism, and public engagement. This list is meant to be illustrative, not exhaustive. Other disciplines may fall within the purview of neuroscience and society. 

While neuroscience and society is not the same as neuroethics, bioethics, or science and technology studies, there are areas of overlap. 

Another way we think about it: Neuroscience & society is a paradigm for how we can teach neuroscience to people, train people to do societally relevant neuroscience-focused work, and engage diverse communities of people to shepherd the development and application of neuroscience.
