The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Some of the funds help students from a particular school or area; others provide financial assistance to those pursuing a specific field of study; still others assist students that are most in need. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds.
Mary Volanakis Memorial Scholarship Fund
To support students of the Greek Orthodox faith, preference for members of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield.
David M. Cordani Courage in Service Grant Program
The Cigna Group Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Cigna Group (NYSE: CI), today announced the launch of the David M. Cordani Courage in Service Grant, a new $1.5 million, 10-year commitment to support the health and well-being of military and veteran communities by prioritizing social connection.
Each year, $150,000 will be awarded to one nonprofit serving military and veteran communities to support programs that strengthen connections, improve well-being, and increase stability for individuals and families navigating key life transitions.

Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover Scholarship Fund
To support graduating seniors from Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire Counties in western Massachusetts. The fund was set up in memory of Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover and recognizes the importance of combatting bullying in schools and our community.
Crown Castle Scholarship
Benefiting Crown Castle interns OR dependents of Crown Castle employees.

What can this scholarship be used for?
The Community Foundation’s scholarships are for Arkansas students pursuing education at two- or four-year colleges or universities, vocational schools or technical training programs. Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria. Some scholarships are designated for graduates of a particular high school or those who plan to attend a particular college. Others are based on extracurricular activities or intended college majors.
The Foundation has a scholarship portal with a quiz to help applicants determine scholarship eligibility.
“Since 1976, the Community Foundation has partnered with individuals and organizations who want to support our state’s students in their pursuit of higher education,” said Heather Larkin, Community Foundation president and CEO. “These generous people provide the funding and determine the size and eligibility criteria of each scholarship, while we oversee the application and awarding process on their behalf.”
Lillian McGillicuddy Republican Party of Arkansas Scholarship
For students involved in the Young Republicans organization.
The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds.
Scholarships are provided for one academic year and are not automatically renewed each year. You can reapply to our program every year you are going to attend college, and the application you submit that year will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.
Markus J. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund
Graduates of Springfield public high schools. Markus Johnson was the first Springfield resident to die while serving in Iraq.

To support graduating high school seniors who reside in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire Counties.
