Max Delbrück Prize in Biological Physics
To recognize and encourage outstanding achievement in biological physics research. The prize consists of $10,000, an allowance for travel to attend the meeting at which the prize is awarded, and a certificate citing the contributions made by the recipient or recipients. It is presented annually.
Prior to 2008, this prize was awarded as the Biological Physics Prize.
Nominations will be considered for three review cycles provided the nominator re-certifies the nomination before the next deadline.

Norman F. Ramsey Prize in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, and in Precision Tests of Fundamental Laws and Symmetries
The Norman F. Ramsey Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, and in Precision Tests of Fundamental Laws and Symmetries recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the two fields of Norman Ramsey: atomic, molecular, and optical physics; and precision tests of fundamental laws and symmetries. The Prize consists of a $10,000 check, a certificate citing accomplishments, and travel support for the recipient to attend the DAMOP annual meeting at which the prize is presented.
Nominations will be considered for three review cycles provided the nominator re-certifies the nomination before the next deadline.

Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Physics Prize
The Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Physics Prize recognizes and encourages outstanding theoretical or experimental contributions to condensed matter physics. The prize consists of $20,000 and a certificate citing the contributions made by the recipient or recipients. It will be awarded annually.
Nominations will be considered for three review cycles provided the nominator re-certifies the nomination before the next deadline.
An award from the George and Viola Hoffman Fund may be made annually for student research toward a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation on a geographical subject in Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe includes the countries of East Central and Southeast Europe from Poland south to Romania, Bulgaria, and the successor states of the former Yugoslavia. Topics may be historical or contemporary, systematic or regional, limited to a small area or comparative.

To recognize outstanding accomplishment and excellence of contributions in polymer physics research. The prize consists of $10,000, up to $1,500 in travel reimbursement, and a certificate citing the contributions made by the recipient. It is presented annually.

The Landfall Foundation was established to support non-profit organizations and schools in the greater Wilmington area by providing individuals and businesses a meaningful way to support those in need. Our grants fund projects and programs in the areas of the arts, education, and health and welfare. All grant dollars remain local, benefitting the residents of New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties.
Our Mission
The mission of The Landfall Foundation is to provide support to non-profit organizations and schools serving Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender Counties. Grants are awarded for well defined projects and programs in the areas of arts, education, and health and welfare, through a comprehensive vetting process.
Landfall Foundation: Macro Grants
Macro Grants Applications are only available to Organizations that were selected during the LOI process. $10,001 to $50,000. Approximately 3-5 will be awarded annually. These grants are designed for high-impact initiatives. These selective grants will focus on projects or programs that can bring about transformative change in the community. These may include capital projects designed to improve, expand or repair existing facilities or the purchase of major equipment that supports the organization’s mission.
