Local Agriculture Market Program

The Local Agriculture Market Program (LAMP) supports the development, coordination, and expansion of direct producer-to-consumer marketing; local and regional food markets and enterprises; and value-added agricultural products. The primary goals of LAMP are to:

• Connect and cultivate regional food economies through public-private partnerships.    
• Support the development of business plans, feasibility studies, and strategies for value-added agricultural production and local and regional food system infrastructure.    
• Strengthen capacity and regional food system development through community collaboration and expansion of mid-tier value chains. 
• Improve income and economic opportunities for producers and food businesses through job creation; and   
• Simplify the application processes and the reporting processes for the program.

LAMP is an umbrella program created in the 2018 Farm Bill. LAMP encompasses the Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP), Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP), Regional Food System Partnerships Program (RFSP), and Value-Added Producer Grants Program (VAPG). LAMP funding is divided between these grant programs.

The Community Foundation’s work falls into three major categories: grant-making, donor service, and community convening. Our most visible activities are the grants and scholarships we award each year. Most of these awards come from income earned from permanently endowed funds. Scholarships and other grants come from funds that donors have established for specific purposes.

Rickert-Shierling Educational Scholarship Fund

The Fund was established to provide scholarships to students who meet the following qualifications: A resident of Randolph County, Indiana, any age seeking higher education, post-secondary education, or adult education, in pursuit of a certificate, diploma or academic degree. Preference will be given to a student with a desire to learn more about human sexuality and/or secular humanism. In the event there is an applicant who desires to study another field on a quest to learn, assuming all other qualifications are met, the monies from the fund can be utilized.

The BACKstage Grant Fall 2025, offered by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), provides funding for secondary education theatre teachers to enhance their professional development. The fund held at CFRC was created in 2004 to help further their mission by establishing a scholarship for Randolph County seniors who are committed to environmental conservation and aspire to careers that will contribute to the preservation and restoration of the environment.

The Women's Research Mentorship Grant by the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation supports women in interventional radiology research, enhancing opportunities for medical students and residents. With a funding limit of $25,000, this grant encourages collaborative projects between faculty researchers and trainees, promoting a culture of inclusion. The Pre-Review process is recommended for applicants to receive feedback before final submission. Team One Credit Union established its scholarship program as a way to help make a college education more affordable for its members children. Since its inception in 1978, the program has grown to award 14 $1,000 scholarships.

Team One prides itself as a leader in the credit union industry and feels a strong commitment to helping people grow, both as individuals and as credit union members. In addition to its scholarship program, Team One Credit Union offers student loans and tuition savings programs.

The Victoria E. & Randal D. Miller Scholarship is a need-based scholarship awarded every four years, with the next award scheduled for 2026. It offers up to $1,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years contingent on maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need and preference is given to students affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The Stephanie Gorsh Memorial Scholarship offers up to $800 to students in need, specifically targeting graduates from Scott County, IA. Eligible applicants must enroll in an accredited two- or four-year institution or a trade school, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum GPA of 2.25. Community service is also a key factor in the selection process. This scholarship is not renewable, making it a one-time financial aid opportunity.

To maintain funding, students must uphold a minimum 2.7 GPA and complete 24 credit hours each year. An interview is required for applicants, who must also demonstrate community involvement and a commitment to college preparatory studies.
