One award of $6,000; divided into equal annual installments paid over four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Current research focuses on minimum wage impacts, offshoring effects, and job search behaviors influencing employment outcomes, particularly for women and minorities in the post-recession labor market. This grant aims to enhance understanding of these critical issues affecting low-education workers.

The Cindy Wright Memorial Scholarship, established in 2022, honors the memory of Cindy Wright, a beloved community member and family figure. This scholarship supports graduating seniors from the Miami Valley with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who are accepted into higher education institutions. Applicants must demonstrate community service, with financial need considered if qualifications are equal. The scholarship reflects Cindy's legacy of love and commitment to family and community.

We are an independent foundation which has been serving Seventh-day Adventist ministries and a select few other humanitarian efforts with financial grants since 1990. We are a self-funded lay organization, and our board is comprised of both lay Adventists and present and former Adventist church employees, all committed to furthering the Kingdom of God and to restoring the “image of God” in those in need.

Journalism for Adventist Solutions (JAS) 

Journalism for Adventist Solutions (JAS) grants aim to promote ethical reporting and diverse storytelling by encouraging integrity, creativity, and journalistic excellence in Adventist communication through targeted grant funding. 

The JAS grant application is open year-round, with funds awarded annually each March and September.

Project Priorities

• Systemic issues in Adventism that demand investigation and fresh thinking
• Journalists and media organizations producing major stories on vital issues related to Adventism
• New ways to communicate the diverse Adventist-related stories of what God is doing
• Awards and recognition to celebrate journalistic achievements and foster a culture of excellence in ethical storytelling
• Evaluation methods to maintain accountability and ethics in Adventist communication
• Courses, workshops, and mentorship programs to enhance journalist skills, ethics, and innovative practices in Adventist communication
• Travel, technology, stipends and honoraria as relevant to the project request
• Other projects similar to the above

Applicants must agree to provide a post-grant report, including a full financial accounting of how JAS monies were used and agree to be audited if requested.

The Charles and Jayne Black Scholarship, funded by The Dayton Foundation, supports high school seniors and current college students from the Miami Valley region who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship aids individuals in pursuing higher education at accredited institutions, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their academic aspirations. With a focus on local students, it fosters educational growth and community development.

The Corky Kress Golf Scholarship, administered by the Quad Cities Community Foundation, supports graduating seniors from specific high schools in Iowa who are members of their golf teams. This scholarship, which is need-based and offers up to $2,500, aims to assist students in covering college costs for two-year or four-year programs. Financial need is a primary criterion for selection, emphasizing the importance of academic performance and commitment to the sport.

The Justin McCurdy Memorial Scholarship, established by The Dayton Foundation, honors the legacy of Justin McCurdy, an aerospace engineer passionate about learning and sports. This scholarship supports graduating seniors from Springboro, Centerville, or Clearcreek Township with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who demonstrate a strong work ethic and financial need. The Julie Clare Bergman Scholarship, established in 1995 by family and friends, honors Julie's legacy by supporting students in graphic arts. It is aimed at high school seniors and current college students from Montgomery County, Ohio, who pursue a degree in graphic arts at accredited institutions. This scholarship prioritizes talent over academic performance and is geared towards those demonstrating financial need, reflecting the Foundation's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in the community.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) seeks to advance its mission by continuing support for a Clinical Research Network on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). AMR is a major health challenge that limits treatment options and allows resistant infections to persist. Individuals with chronic conditions like diabetes and cancer are particularly vulnerable, resulting in increased illness and death as well as higher healthcare costs in the United States. The program aims to design, implement, and manage clinical research addressing key clinical questions in AMR. Research will focus on bacterial and fungal infections associated with AMR. Areas of emphasis include clinical testing of new antibiotics and other treatments such as bacteriophage therapy, methods optimizing the use of existing antibiotics, evaluating novel diagnostic tests including using diagnostics to refine treatment strategies, and mentoring the next generation of AMR clinical researchers. Grant authorities that allow NIAID to forecast this opportunity are as follows: Sections 301 and 405 of the Public Health Service Act as amended (42 USC 241 and 284) and under Federal Regulations 42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200.

The Jonathan Dewberry Porter Memorial Scholarship, established by the family of Jonathan Porter, a dedicated veteran and Central State University Upward Bound graduate, supports graduating seniors from the program. The John and Charlotte Michael Family Memorial Scholarship, established in 1995 by The Dayton Foundation, honors the legacy of the Michael family by providing scholarships to students from Germantown, Farmersville, and Jefferson Township. This initiative reflects the Foundation's commitment to philanthropy, community development, and educational support, ensuring that deserving students have access to opportunities that foster their academic and personal growth.

The Miller Family Scholarship offers financial assistance to graduating seniors from the North East, PA school district or residents of North East. This renewable scholarship is aimed at students pursuing college, university, or vocational education, requiring a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. It supports local talent and encourages higher education in the community.

The OTA Young Investigator Research Grant aims to support early-career orthopedic trauma surgeons within five years of fellowship completion by providing $35,000 over two years. This funding promotes mentored research and development in orthopaedic trauma, encouraging innovative projects that demonstrate clinical relevance. Collaborating with AO Trauma North America and COIRI, the OTA facilitates access to resources like mentoring programs and grant libraries, fostering leadership and excellence in research and education.

The Freda B.
