As a region within the AO, AO North America's mission is to further the goals of the AO Foundation in North America by promoting excellence in patient care and outcomes in trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.
AO North America's purpose is to be a validated, credible resource for the continuous professional development of surgeons. We achieve this by creating a community that learns from and with each other.
Fellows Research Grant
Funding for worthwhile clinical and translational trauma-oriented research projects to be performed by fellows at AO Trauma NA-sponsored sites.
Funding & deliverables
Maximum funding per award is $10,000.
Periodic reporting is required, including submission of a final manuscript within six months of completion of the project. Proof of publication will consist of a copy of a journal-generated PDF.
The funded project is to be completed by July 31 of the academic funding year, and this funding is non-transferable. If the project is not completed prior to this date, a request for a 6- month, no-cost extension may be submitted to the AO TNARC at least thirty (30) days prior to expiration, stating the reason and requested period of extension. In general, an extension will not be granted without the documentation of substantial extenuating circumstances. Approval of this no-cost extension is at the sole discretion of the AO TNARC.
