A. M. and May Abel Memorial Scholarship
Anthony M. Abel, brother of W. H. Abel of Montesano, was born in Sussex, England and raised in Salina, Kansas.
He earned his law degree from the University of Kansas, and established a successful law practice in 1903. There he married May Rosmond. Abel went on to become one of western Washington’s most highly regarded lawyers.
The A. M. and May Abel Memorial Scholarship is open to all applicants who satisfy the general eligibility requirements of the Scholarship Program.
Accreditation Sustainability Learning Community RFA

Lane-Ware Graduate Nursing Scholarship
Mrs. Irma Brinkley Lane and Dr. Sarah Mazique Ware are retired nurses with greater than 35 years’ experience each. They met in the undergraduate nursing program at Alcorn State University and have worked together and kept in touch over the years. Lane and Ware value community service. They have been, and continue to be, involved in the health promotion and maintenance within their local and regional communities.
In light of the contemporary health care milieu, Lane and Ware also value the mental health of individuals, families, and communities. They recognize the increasing need for clinicians and scholars to embrace the psycho-social needs of others. The mental health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the growing attention to death and dying are challenges that need the attention of advance practice nurses.
Lane and Ware believe that much is to be known and done about the mental health care climate in our country. Advance practice nurses are in a pivotal position to study and influence the mental health outcomes of those persons impacted by contemporary health crises. Many will be affected for years to come. Lane and Ware created this scholarship to recognize and support advance practice nurses who advocate for the mental well-being of individuals, groups, and families in Mississippi communities.
Bridging the Gap Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Trey Powell and Bridget Horn, who were both Veterans that lost their battle with PTSD to suicide. The Stronger Together Foundation strives to bring awareness to the large number of Veterans who face crises and ultimately commit suicide, as well as provide support to the families left behind.

The Bedford Community Health Foundation offers a variety of scholarships for individuals pursuing certification, degrees, and advanced degrees in health-related fields. Students can be full-time nursing students, employed nurses seeking additional education, full-time allied health students, employed health providers wanting to specialize and high school students enrolled in the Governor’s Health Academy at Susie G. Gibson Science & Technology Center.

Allied Health/Graduate Scholarship is designed to assist those who seek to enter into or advance in a health-related field. This scholarship is for full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree and for those pursuing a graduate degree in a health-related field. AMS Organology Study Group Travel Grants
The AMS Organology Study Group Travel Grants program provides travel grants to support AMS Annual Meeting attendance for students and recent graduates with research interests in organology and/or other intersections of music and material culture studies. In addition to supporting attendance at the annual meeting, this program also introduces recipients to a network of scholars working in the field of organology. In 2026, selected recipients will not receive travel grants because the 2026 AMS Annual Meeting is being held online, but will instead receive complimentary registration for the conference. The 2026 AMS Annual Meeting will be held 14–15 November and 19–20 November 2026.
The purpose of the program is to defray costs associated with attending the AMS Annual Meeting and participating in Organology Study Group (OSG) activities. Recipients will be required to attend the Organology Study Group's paper session at the 2026 AMS Annual Meeting.
The Organology Study Group Travel Grants program was established in 2024 with the generous support of the American Musical Instrument Society (AMIS). In addition to complimentary registration for the 2026 AMS Annual Meeting, recipients will receive one year of complimentary membership in the AMIS.

Dwight Nicholson Medal for Outreach
This award recognizes the humanitarian aspect of physics and physicists created through public lectures and public media, teaching, research, or science related activities. Recognition consists of a stipend of $3,000, Nicholson medal, and a certificate which includes the citation for which the recipient has been recognized. Up to $1,500 will be available for the recipient's travel expenses to the meeting at which the Medal is presented. It will be presented annually.

Alex Shives Scholarship Application Guidelines
The purpose of the Fund is to distribute scholarships to assist qualified recipients in their pursuit of higher education who have graduated or will be a graduating senior from either Papillion LaVista or Papillion LaVista South High School and who have participated on the boys or girls golf team at either high school.

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of John F. Burt of Neshoba County. Mr. Burt was raised during the depression and as a result he was resilient, a hard worker and resourceful. He learned the importance of sharing with those in need. He served in the US Navy during WWII where he strengthened his beliefs about patriotism, commitment and service. After the war, he and his wife opened a grocery store where he continued to be in service of others. God, family, and fellowship were priorities of Mr. Burt’s; he was always willing to be of service to anyone he considered family and at times to complete strangers. Obviously, Mr. Burt’s experiences shaped his moral code and guided the compass of his life. Scholarship funds to be used towards fees for tuition and/or books only.
Sterling High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund in Memory of Dwight David Huggins
Dwight David Huggins (Class of 1962) contributed to this scholarship with a gift from his estate in 2024. His intent was to assist deserving African American/Black students residing in Greenville County, in need of financial assistance to be able to attend institutions of higher learning while seeking to become lifelong learners and productive, self-sufficient members of our society. The preference for descendants of Sterling High School Alumni and Israel Metropolitan AME church is in recognition of him being a former member of both organizations.
The John Wesley Johnson Legacy Fund is dedicated to supporting and empowering students from East Mississippi attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). By investing in the education of these scholars, the Legacy Fund seeks to promote equity, enhance career opportunities, and cultivate future leaders who will contribute positively to their communities and beyond. Two Scholarships will be awarded for $1,500 each.
John I. Smith Charities Scholarship
Established in 1989 by John I. Smith Charities to provide educational incentives and financial assistance to individuals residing in government-subsidized housing with the goal of helping students achieve self-sufficiency and become contributing citizens of the community through educational attainment.
