About the Fund

The Fund for Delaware Collaboration (the “Collaboration Fund”) supports formal sustained collaborations between and among nonprofit organizations in the state of Delaware. These collaborations can range from voluntary back-office consolidations to programmatic joint ventures, to mergers and acquisitions. The Fund seeks to have a catalytic impact on the capacity, effectiveness, and financial health of the Delaware nonprofit sector.

Three Types of Grant Awards

The Collaboration Fund makes grants to nonprofits to identify and engage experienced technical assistance providers who can support the exploration or implementation of a sustained collaboration.

The Fund will support collaboration projects involving nonprofits serving Delaware and Delawareans, regardless of whether they have headquarters in the state.

Heartland Community Foundation: Paul and Terrii Bowman Scholarship

Amount

$1,000 minimum; Multiple scholarships may be awarded.

Geographic Limitations:

High school seniors qualified for graduation from a high school in Rooks County, Kansas.

Renewals

• Recipients are eligible for a one-year automatic renewal by meeting the following criteria:
  • Enrolled in a vocational field at a post-secondary institution.
  • In good academic standing.

Grants of up to $30,000 are available for nonprofits to engage technical assistance providers to explore or implement collaborations. The Collaboration Fund: Implementation Grant supports sustained collaborations among Delaware nonprofits, ranging from back-office consolidations to joint ventures. Grants up to $30,000 cover one-time costs for implementing these collaborations. Eligible applicants include tax-exempt organizations providing services in Delaware, including partnerships with national entities. The CORE Funding: AAO-HNSF/SFA Thomas S. Higgins Unified Airway Research Grant supports research on unified airway conditions using the AAO-HNSF’s Reg-ent clinical data registry. Eligible applicants include otolaryngologists from the U.S. and Canada, including residents and fellows. The grant aims to enhance understanding of inflammatory and allergic diseases affecting both upper and lower airway tracts, promoting evidence-based care and improved patient outcomes.

The Dan Trant Scholarship Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, supports Westfield residents who are student athletes. This fund is part of a broader initiative, offering over 160 scholarships to assist students pursuing diverse fields of study. Eligible applicants include undergraduate and graduate students attending accredited institutions. Awards can reach up to $3,000, with students advised to consult financial aid offices regarding any potential impacts on their aid packages.

The Connie Celeste Sherman Memorial Scholarship Fund, established by family, supports students from Hampden County. • Recipients may receive this scholarship for a total of 4 years.
