HIV Prevention NOVA 2026

Program Description

Gilead Sciences invites research proposals that advance the evidence base for innovative and scalable models of delivery for long-acting (LA) HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in the United States.

This Topic of Interest (TOI) is focused on care delivery models implemented in non-traditional settings, defined as clinical and non-clinical environments where PrEP services are not routinely provided. Emphasis is placed on approaches that reflect real-life practice and address gaps in current PrEP delivery infrastructure.

Persistent inequities in PrEP uptake in the U.S. suggest that expanding availability within traditional clinical settings alone is unlikely to reach all populations with unmet PrEP need.1,2 Rigorous implementation studies in non-traditional settings where PrEP services are not routinely provided are needed to evaluate whether these models can reduce access barriers and improve equitable reach among individuals who may benefit from PrEP.2,3,4

The goal of this TOI is to generate practical, decision-relevant evidence that informs how LA PrEP can be implemented, scaled, and sustained in real-life U.S. settings.

John E. Thomasson Scholarship

The John E. Thomasson Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 to support postsecondary educational opportunities for youth of African American or other minority heritage in the Louisa County (Virginia) Public Schools or Fluvanna County (Virginia) Public Schools. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to students who have been admitted to an accredited two-year technical school, four-year Historically Black College or University or the school of their choice. Preference will be given to applicants planning to attend Virginia State University, Hampton University, Virginia Union University, or Norfolk State University.

The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part C Capacity Development Program aims to enhance the capabilities of community-based organizations, focusing on improving health outcomes and decreasing HIV transmission. This initiative supports individuals who have not yet accessed regular HIV care, emphasizing innovative care solutions and infrastructure development to address these critical needs.

The Agriculture Risk Management Education Partnerships Competitive Grants Program (ARME) aims to educate agricultural producers on various risk management activities, including crop insurance, debt reduction, and market assessment. Emphasizing farm viability, the program seeks to provide technical assistance and outreach to farmers and ranchers to improve their risk management strategies, as outlined in the Agriculture Risk Protection Act of 2000. This initiative is funded by the USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).

The Patrice Faye Cohen Memorial Scholarship Award supports high school women from Southern New Jersey who are pursuing college education with a focus on entrepreneurship. Established in memory of Patrice Faye Cohen, a successful business owner, this scholarship aims to empower women to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. The Celine Wyatt Memorial Scholarship honors a remarkable young athlete who embodied determination and leadership. The Harry Kramer Memorial Fund Grant supports U.S. charitable organizations that assist individuals and institutions in Israel, focusing on welfare, healthcare for the sick and aged, and education in South Florida. Founded by Harry A. Kramer, a successful entrepreneur and veteran, the fund reflects his deep commitment to charitable causes. Organizations must qualify under Section 501(c)(3) and meet specific eligibility criteria to apply for funding, ensuring that aid reaches those in need.
