Social Justice Fund Northwest- Sponsorship
At Social Justice Fund Northwest (SJF), we utilize sponsorships as a way of building bridges. Our sponsorships are only available to recent and current SJF grantees (within the past two years) in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and/or Wyoming. We hope that organizations utilize this resource to fund their most ambitious, innovative projects that are often not supported by other funders.
Overview
Grant Awards: One-year sponsorship of $1,000
Focus:
Developmental Disabilities Community Advocacy Coalition
The Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council (DDC) is accepting proposals for the Developmental Disabilities Community Advocacy Coalition (DD-CAC). The budget for this project is $98,000 per year for two years. It will have an opportunity to be extended on a yearly basis through September 2031.
The contractor will provide coordination, facilitation and capacity building support for the DD-CAC so members can work together to develop a community driven policy agenda, strengthen leadership pathways, expand participation and engage in effective advocacy. The contractor will support coalition operations, member engagement, communication tools, leadership development, policy agenda creation and year-round community action activities. This work will emphasize accessibility, equity and meaningful participation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

We invest in Washington’s future and communities, supporting equitable economic growth, innovative solutions, and a skilled workforce. We serve communities, individuals, and our state by ensuring transformative projects and funding reach every Washingtonian; urban, rural, and Tribal, and we are committed to supporting the Commerce team who serve our state with such dedication.
Capital Project Capacity Grants for Non-profit Organizations
The Washington State Department of Commerce’s Community Capacity Initiative is accepting applications for FY2027 Capital Project Capacity-Building Grant Program. These grants will help eligible organizations strengthen their capacity and advance viable capital projects that directly benefit overburdened communities in Washington. Funding may support a critical next step in an early-stage capital project, including targeted technical assistance and predevelopment activities. Priority will be given to projects in overburdened communities that address housing, energy or infrastructure needs and to applicants and communities with limited financial capacity.
