This grant will fund organizations that meet SJF’s community organizing framework and prioritize communities underrepresented in traditional grantmaking.

Tenant and Housing Justice community organizing work can include, but is not limited to:

  • Collective power building among tenants to dismantle and push against the current oppressive housing systems and structures 
    • Examples: rental and utilities assistance, tenants’ rights training, eviction prevention and intervention, etc.
  • Local and statewide tenant and housing systems/policy change 
  • Tenant leadership development
  • Creating collective, cooperative housing structures
  • Re-entry organizing by and for folks who were recently incarcerated to provide housing and resources, influence and set policy, etc.
  • Disability justice organizing focused on affordable, accessible, and supportive housing for disabled folks and elders

Introduction

The mission of the Wyoming Energy Authority (WEA) is to advance Wyoming’s energy and natural resources. The WEA is issuing a request for qualifications (RFQ) from service providers, consultants, qualified individuals, and other interested entities to perform investment-grade energy audits for local governments, K-12 school districts, and churches located in the State of Wyoming.

The current energy efficiency programs administered by the Wyoming State Energy Program (SEP) are focused on reducing energy costs for entities located in Wyoming. This program is intended to continue the ongoing energy efficiency initiatives of the SEP. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) funding will be used for these efforts.

Wyoming State Energy Program (SEP) 

The purpose of this solicitation is to secure services from qualified organizations or individuals to perform investment-grade energy audits for local governments, K-12 school districts, and churches located in the State of Wyoming that are interested in reducing energy cost.

Scope of work

  • Undertake at least 5 and up to 30 energy audits for energy efficiency savings. Specifically:
    • Conduct on-site investment-grade audits and provide technical assistance to the audit recipients.
    • Review investment-grade audits and project proposals to ensure the proposed work is technically and financially appropriate, including, but not limited to:
      • Reviewing proposed energy efficiency measures, baseline methodology, and measurement and verification strategies.
      • Reviewing energy and cost calculations for reasonableness; reviewing proposed equipment for appropriateness.
      • Reviewing financial analyses and reviewing audits, proposals, etc., to ensure compliance with the technical requirements of the program.
    • Complete ASHRAE Level II energy audits or equivalent investment-grade audits.
    • Prepare and deliver an energy audit and project assessment summary to the Wyoming Energy Authority. This summary will include prioritizations of identified energy efficiency recommendations.

Pre-Hire Economic Development Grant

Develop an industry-specific workforce for a business, businesses, or industry when there is a shortage of skilled workers in that field.

Pre-Hire Economic Development Grants are available to Wyoming Training Providers to establish an industry-specific workforce that addresses identified shortages of skilled workers for Wyoming businesses.

  • Application Process: Applications are completed through a partnering of the training provider, business(es) with a need for trained ready to hire individuals, local or regional economic development entities, and the local workforce center.
  • Reimbursement: Eligible expenses include tuition/registration, class fees and materials, HR related expenses (background checks, fingerprinting, etc.), and licence and certification exam fees.

Internship Grants

Offer structured learning experiences to individuals to gain experience and knowledge in a new industry or occupation.

  • Internship Duration: An internship may be up to 960 hours. A full-time internship (40 hours/week) can run for about 6 months. The internship period may not exceed six months in length. The Start Date on the application must begin at least 15 days from the date of submission.
  • Wage Reimbursement: Businesses can receive up to $18/hour for intern wages, with proper documentation. Intern wages should reflect the learning nature of the role, typically at the lower end of the wage scale.
  • Internship Limits: Businesses can sponsor up to 6 internships per fiscal year. Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP) may sponsor up to 10 internships. If awarded internship grants across fiscal years, the business can have only 6 active internships at one time.
  • Hiring Timeline: Interns must be hired no earlier than 30 days before submitting the application and no later than 60 days after the Internship Start Date.
  • Mentor Assignment: Each intern must have a mentor with relevant experience and education in the field. Mentors can oversee no more than two interns simultaneously.

Apprenticeship Training Grants

Develop an industry-specific, Wyoming workforce for business, businesses, or industries. These grants assist Wyoming Registered Apprenticeship Programs or eligible training providers with the costs and expenses of the Related Technical Instruction portion of apprenticeships.

Reimbursement: Reimburses expenses associated with the formal related technical instruction portion of an apprenticeship program. These expenses include, registration and tuition, class fees and materials, wages and fringe benefits for instructors, and licensing and certification fees. Who we are

As a division of the Wyoming Department of Administration & Information, the mission of the Wyoming State Library is to promote statewide library development, foster library cooperation, and provide reliable information to our customers.

McMurry Library Endowment Grant

The Carol McMurry Library Endowment was established in 2000 within the Wyoming Community Foundation to provide support to Wyoming library staff and volunteers and to publicly accessible Wyoming libraries in three areas:

  • Education & Training (Library & Individual)
  • Library Resources
  • Library Foundation Development

Types of Library Grants Projects

  • Education & Training: These can be used for in-service workshops or multi-library continuing education events. The application can include financial support to pay for substitute staff to keep a library open while staff attends the event or training.
  • Resource: Resource grants can be used to purchase library books, audio-visual materials, informational software and hardware, and databases. Applications can be submitted for children, youth or adult resources, both physical and electronic. The library is expected to provide a collection analysis to support its justification for a grant and information on the population to be served by the project.
  • Foundation: Foundation grants can be used to retain outside technical assistance for foundation boards and library staff in their planning of an endowment or for a publication about the endowment. Grants for consulting in the area of bylaws, foundation roles and responsibilities, relationship to the library board can be made. Grants for fundraising support and for the local library endowment itself will not be awarded. Capital construction, furnishings, carpeting, and building repairs have a very low consideration due to the amount of funds available in the Endowment for library grants.
