Best Capacity Building Grants for Nonprofits in Arizona

The Vernier Science Education Inspiration Grants support innovative K-12 and college educators in the U.S. who creatively use Vernier technology to engage students in hands-on STEM education. Each grant includes $1,000 in Vernier technology, a one-year license for the Vernier Graphical Analysis™ Pro app, and three hours of virtual professional development. This initiative aims to inspire scientific curiosity and enhance STEM literacy among students.

Scholarships

The CBCF scholarship is open each year. Scholarships awarded will be for the following academic year. Scholarships are available only to students who graduated from a high school in one of the counties in the CBCF Service Area: Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio and San Patricio. Thanks to our generous donors, the Coastal Bend Community Foundation (CBCF) offers scholarships to students from over 100 funds.

Cox - Justin Forrest Cox "Beat the Odds" Memorial Scholarship

Purpose

Established in memory of Justin Forrest Cox, who died at age 16. Justin was well-respected and had the ability to become friends with anyone. Destined to become great, he died before his time. Justin greatly admired those who persisted against daunting odds to achieve their goals. This scholarship is meant for those who have "Beaten the Odds."

Scholarships are to be used for books and tuition only and can be carried over to later years.

The Transformational Partnerships Fund offers catalytic grants of up to $100,000 to support partnerships among degree-granting institutions, focusing on student-centered solutions. These grants aim to explore innovative collaborations that enhance stability and success for students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Eligible institutions must demonstrate a commitment to transformational partnerships, with priority given to those serving diverse populations and improving educational outcomes. Alger Regional Community FoundationThe Alger Regional Community Foundation (ARCF) is a locally based 501(C)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Alger County through grants and scholarships.

ARCF is a unique institution. It is a permanent, yet flexible, collection of endowment funds contributed by people from all walks of life who want to make a difference in our community.

Munising Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Unendowed FundGiven to an Alger County graduate who has completed one full year (2 semesters) in the medical field. Students may receive scholarships twice, providing college transcripts.

The Splendido Residents Association Scholarships aim to support students in Southern Arizona by providing financial assistance for educational pursuits. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have worked at least 12 hours weekly for six months. Scholarships range from $2,000 to $13,000 based on school type and enrollment status. Recipients can reapply for up to four years, ensuring ongoing support for their academic journeys.

Armstrong County Community Foundation

The Armstrong County Community Foundation, a public nonprofit corporation,

• Gives grants, scholarships, and organizational support to address the needs of our community.

Irving R. and Carol Rutkin Scholarship Fund

• High school senior attending a public or private High school in the southern part of Palm Beach County (Delray Beach to Boca Raton).
• The student must exhibit integrity and initiative.
• This is a need based scholarship.

The Historic Preservation Demonstration Project Program, funded by the City of Phoenix, aims to rehabilitate significant historic buildings while preserving their architectural integrity. The program provides up to 50% funding for eligible projects, encouraging restoration and reuse of historic properties such as museums and churches. By adhering to the city's General Design Guidelines and the Secretary of the Interior's Standards, the program supports sustainable preservation efforts that enhance community heritage and promote responsible development.

The Historic Preservation Exterior Rehabilitation Assistance Program aims to support the preservation of historic buildings in Phoenix by offering financial assistance to homeowners. Eligible property owners can receive grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 for exterior rehabilitation projects. This program promotes the retention of historic architectural elements while ensuring that homes in designated historic districts or listed on the city's register are maintained and restored appropriately. Applicants must adhere to specific guidelines and deadlines to qualify.

The Phil Gordon Threatened Building Grant Program, funded by the City of Phoenix, aims to preserve and rehabilitate historic downtown warehouses and buildings at risk of demolition. The program provides up to 100% funding for eligible projects, contingent upon owners investing an equal amount in rehabilitation. With a focus on exterior preservation and compliance with historic standards, it ensures that significant properties are maintained for future use, contributing to the city's cultural heritage and urban landscape.

Each year, Innovia awards over $400,000 in scholarships to deserving students like you who are college-bound or pursuing vocational or technical training. Single scholarship awards range between $500 and $4,000.

Idaho Panhandle Dental Society Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be accepted or enrolled full-time at a post-high school program in the field of dentistry or dental hygiene as a dental hygienist, dental assistant, dental business assistant or dentist. Financial need, academic achievement, and community service are factors for selection.

Previous recipients of this award are eligible to reapply.

The Minnie Hopkins Scholarship Fund was established to assist applicants who have graduated from Canton City School District. 

This scholarship is renewable.

The Undergraduate and Graduate Student Training Fellowship, offered by the Torrey Botanical Society, provides $1,000 annually to support students in plant science. This award is intended for society members to help cover course costs at biological field stations. Founded in the 1860s, the society promotes interest in plant life among botanists and nature enthusiasts alike, making it one of the oldest botanical societies in America.

Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge

The Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge is a charitable organization that has served the independent cities of Staunton and Waynesboro, and the counties of Augusta, Highland and Nelson since 1992. 

The Ganelle Hargrove Cook Scholarship

The Ganelle Hargrove Cook Scholarship was established in 1999 to provide annual scholarships to deserving individuals residing in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County who are pursuing a two- or four-year degree. Preference will be given to applicants of Hispanic/Latino heritage. Scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply annually for up to four years as long as the recipient continues to meet scholarship criteria and funds are available. The intent of the scholarship sponsor is to provide scholarships for Hispanic/Latino individuals.

The Massillon Fraternal Order of Eagles Jimmy Kiefer Scholarship Fund

The Massillon Fraternal Order of Eagles Jimmy Kiefer Scholarship Fund is awarded to Stark County high school graduating seniors who will be attending an accredited two-or four-year college or university full-time and have a relative who is a member of FOE Eagles #190 in good standing.

This scholarship is not renewable.

The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants support innovative projects aimed at enhancing the lifesaving efforts for cats and dogs in U.S. shelters. Eligible organizations, including public and private shelters and rescue groups, can apply for up to $50,000 to fund initiatives like intake prevention services, medical care for at-risk pets, and shelter enrichment programs. All projects must align with the mission of increasing adoption rates and improving animal welfare within the Best Friends Network.

Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge

The Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge is a charitable organization that has served the independent cities of Staunton and Waynesboro, and the counties of Augusta, Highland and Nelson since 1992.

Daniel Kummer Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for a graduating high school senior, homeschooled, or current college student in their sophomore or junior year in the Marshfield Foundation service area studying videography or broadcasting. Students must be attending an accredited school full-time, pursuing an undergraduate degree. Students should show academic merit, character, and motivation.

Dan Helwig Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in architecture, drafting, or construction. Preference to students from Marshfield, Columbus, or Neillsville High School who will be attending school full-time attending a 4-year school. Financial need is considered as a tiebreaker.

The NIOSH National Center of Excellence for the Prevention of Childhood Agricultural Injury (U54) aims to enhance the safety and well-being of youth in the agriculture sector. This initiative will conduct vital research, improve data collection, and implement effective interventions to mitigate risks faced by young workers. By collaborating with various stakeholders, the center seeks to translate scientific findings into practical solutions that promote healthier working environments for children in agriculture, forestry, and fishing industries.

The NIOSH Centers for Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing Safety and Health provide critical support to enhance worker safety and health in the vital AgFF sector. With a focus on high-quality interdisciplinary research, these centers aim to translate scientific findings into practical solutions, improve health outcomes, and engage with partners to promote best practices. By addressing health hazards and improving data coordination, these centers strive for a meaningful impact on the well-being of AgFF workers across the nation.

The Moe Family Fund for Statewide and Local Partners Grant Program, administered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, offers grants of up to $10,000 to dues-paying members of the National Preservation Partners Network. This program focuses on strengthening preservation organizations and addressing key issues, including advocacy, capacity building, and climate change initiatives. Eligible projects should demonstrate innovation, potential impact, and a clear budget, while adhering to preservation standards and timelines.

The Council of Independent Colleges

Founded in 1956, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is an association of nonprofit independent colleges and universities, state-based councils, and higher education affiliates that works to support college and university leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance public understanding of independent higher education’s contributions to society.

CIC is the major national organization that focuses on providing services to leaders of independent colleges and universities and state-based councils. CIC offers conferences, seminars, publications, and other programs and services that help institutions improve educational quality, administrative and financial performance, student outcomes, and institutional visibility.

NetVUE Grant Programs

NetVUE offers a variety of grants to member institutions, supporting programming for students and professional development for faculty members and staff. Grants support projects ranging from one to four years in length. Grant programs are tailored to differing circumstances among member institutions, including their particular areas of interest, their bandwidth and capacity for administering projects, and the depth of their previous engagement with vocational exploration and discernment. NetVUE grants are administered by the Council of Independent Colleges, with generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc.

NetVUE Grants for Reframing the Institutional Saga

Many NetVUE member colleges and universities have strong historical ties to a specific religious tradition, a particular educational philosophy, or a pioneering educator. These elements of an institution’s heritage are important, but their significance may not always be clear in the midst of changes in the institution’s demographic profile, surrounding community, and founding organizations. These changes can influence student recruitment and retention, curriculum design, and the composition of faculty. The purpose of this grant program is to enable institutions to produce an updated account of their history and mission in light of their current context.

The BRAID Fellowship, initiated by Interfaith America, addresses rising prejudice in higher education by fostering a national network of undergraduate student leaders. This program empowers students to promote respect and cooperation across diverse backgrounds. Each fellow receives a $1,000 project award and a $2,000 stipend, along with opportunities for specialized training and community engagement. Through this initiative, Interfaith America commits to cultivating a diverse cohort that represents a wide range of religious and ideological perspectives.

The Garden Club of America Fellowship in Tropical Botany aims to enhance the preservation of tropical forests by increasing the number of botanists with practical field experience. Established in 1983, the fellowship provides two grants of $5,500 annually for doctoral candidates pursuing research in tropical plant systematics and forest ecology. Eligible applicants include U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in U.S. institutions, who are expected to complete their Ph.D. in Botany within two years.
