Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations improving health access and outcomes in Georgia and select states can apply for Qlarant Foundation grants of up to US $50,000 for 12-month projects. Grants from Qlarant Foundation help health and wellness programs expand care for uninsured and underserved communities, advance community health education, and address health disparities and social determinants of health.

Nonprofit or partner organizations supporting veterans and first responders with wellness, rehabilitation, and recovery programs in Georgia can apply for the Gridiron Veterans Scholarship, which funds mental health, physical therapy, and holistic wellness services. The Bob Woodruff Foundation backs evidence-based programs that improve resilience, strength, and overall quality of life for the military and first responder community.

Georgia school districts (eligible LEAs) seeking to strengthen school-based mental health and wellness systems can access funding through the Georgia Department of Education’s Project AWARE Grant. Georgia LEAs may request up to US $1,250,000 over five years to improve student mental health, behavioral wellbeing, and overall wellness, with priority for rural, underserved areas.

Created by the Georgia General Assembly in 1981 as an executive branch agency, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is a statewide body established to build consensus and unity among the State's diverse and interdependent criminal justice system components. CJCC is legislatively charged with twelve areas of criminal justice coordination. Among those responsibilities is to serve as the statewide clearinghouse for criminal justice information and research, develop criminal justice legislative and executive policy proposals, and serve in an advisory capacity to the governor on issues impacting the criminal justice system.

FY27 State Crisis Intervention Program – Behavioral Health

The Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP), authorized by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022, provides formula funds to support gun violence reduction programs and initiatives. Grant funding will focus on behavioral health deflection, which refers to strategies and programs within the criminal justice system designed to redirect individuals with behavioral health needs away from traditional punitive measures (such as incarceration) and towards rehabilitative and supportive services. These strategies aim to address the underlying issues of behavioral health and reduce potential violence by providing alternatives to prosecution and promoting interventions that support recovery and reintegration into society.

The CDC's initiative, 'Holistic and Evidence-Informed Wellness for STI Prevention', addresses the significant public health burden of STIs in the U.S. by promoting a comprehensive approach that emphasizes healthy choices and relationships. By supporting a coalition of sexual health experts, the program aims to enhance STI prevention through strategic resource allocation and the dissemination of high-quality, evidence-based materials, targeting priority groups most affected by STIs. This holistic strategy seeks to reduce STI morbidity and improve overall sexual health.

The Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship is awarded annually by SHAPE America to honor outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in health and physical education. Established in 1995, this scholarship supports three undergraduate and two graduate recipients. Candidates must be SHAPE America members, majoring in relevant fields, and demonstrate academic excellence and leadership. In addition to financial support, recipients receive a three-year membership to SHAPE America, fostering a commitment to health education and physical activity.

The What’s Your Gap Grant, provided by BreatheStrong CF in partnership with the Closing the Gap Foundation, supports teens and adults living with cystic fibrosis. This grant alleviates financial barriers, allowing recipients to pursue health and wellness opportunities tailored to their individual goals. It aims to empower applicants who envision a healthier lifestyle but face challenges in achieving it, serving as a catalyst for positive change in their lives.

The Indigenous Tomorrows Fund (ITF) is a youth-led initiative by Native Americans in Philanthropy aimed at supporting Indigenous youth leadership and community-driven solutions. In its 2025 pilot year, ITF will award up to 24 grants of $30,000 each to projects that enhance cultural continuity and sustainable futures. Priorities include promoting food justice, advancing community health, and strengthening cultural connections, particularly those addressing inequity and fostering long-term healing.

Georgia health and wellness nonprofits can access funding through the Alfred H Lander And Janet L Lander Family Foundation to run programs that promote physical and mental health, education, and basic needs. Qualified charitable organizations may request one-time, single-year support for specific projects, including fitness, health access, and related educational or workforce initiatives that uplift individuals and families.

Nonprofit organizations in Georgia that are 501(c)(3)s or Canadian-registered charities supporting teen and young adult mental health can apply for AE Foundation Community Grants of up to US $10,000. Grants from AE Foundation help health and wellness programs in Georgia and across the U.S. and Canada strengthen young people’s well-being within 12 months of funding.

31Heroes

On August 6, 2011, a tragedy shook the military community and Americans everywhere. In a single instance, America lost 30 military service members, many of whom were members of the Navy SEAL community—and one military K9– when a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, call sign Extortion 17, was downed in Afghanistan.

Established to honor the 31 Americans killed in action on August 6, 2011, 31Heroes serves to impact the lives of our nation’s heroes and their families, while remembering the fallen, through athletic endeavors and competitive fundraising events.

Our Mission: The mission of 31Heroes is to raise money and awareness through social and athletic events to support the families of Extortion 17 and honor their legacy by funding treatment for Veterans suffering from mental health issues.

Our Focus

Our goal is to create opportunities for the families of Extortion 17 to create healthier lifestyles and to provide financial relief in times of need. We consider it our responsibility to make a positive impact in the lives of each family. Whether through grants we provide, or through partnering with other non-profit organizations that offer programs or services that we do not, we are devoted to the families and creating a legacy the men of Extortion 17 would be proud of.

Guidelines

• Individual limits will not exceed $3750 annually
• Family Grants range from $750 to the maximum range of $1500
• Family members must submit an online application for consideration
• Applications may be submitted at any time during this funding cycle
• Priority and funding will be based on the Primary Next of Kin list

Lifestyle Grants

Lifestyle Grants are aimed at improving health and lifestyle via physical fitness, nutrition, holistic treatment, etc. Limit for this grant is $1500

The Native Hawaiian Health Care Improvement Act Program provides funding to enhance the health status of Native Hawaiians through comprehensive health care services. This initiative supports one administrative award to Papa Ola Lokahi and five awards to certified Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems. The program aims to ensure tailored health promotion and disease prevention services within island communities, addressing specific regional health needs from fiscal years 2027 to 2031.

Georgia health and wellness nonprofits focused on STEM education, workforce readiness, human services, or mental health can access funding through World Wide Technology Foundation’s WWT Foundation Grant. U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations may apply year-round for programs advancing career readiness, social justice, basic needs, and physical or mental health initiatives.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations working on health, wellness, education, human services, or environmental sustainability in communities where Athene employees live and work, including Georgia, may be eligible for funding to support their programs. With a mission to create positive social impact, Athene Charitable Foundation provides philanthropic support, community outreach, and volunteer engagement for aligned, inclusive initiatives.

Nonprofit organizations using physical activity to support mental health can apply for the Anxiety & Depression Initiative’s Get Out and Get Active Grant, offering up to US $10,000. Georgia health and wellness nonprofits may be eligible if their programs intentionally combine exercise with mental health support, education, visibility, or community engagement.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in the Atlanta region seeking transformational health and wellness, family, education, arts, or environmental projects can apply for more than US $100,000 in funding. With a mission to improve community well-being, Impact100 Atlanta provides Georgia nonprofits with support for capital projects, new or expanded programs, or collaborative initiatives.

U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving veterans with health, wellness, education, or related programs can seek up to US $100,000 for new or expanding projects. With a mission to empower women’s collective giving, Impact100 Global Veterans provides large project grants; Georgia organizations focused on wellness and healthy living for veterans may be strong candidates.

U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofits running neuroscience-related health and wellness programs, including those serving Georgia, can apply for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine’s Therapeutic Giving support to improve patient access, equity, and frontline care. Funding may benefit initiatives in Alzheimer’s, depression, schizophrenia, crisis intervention, stigma reduction, or criminal justice–related mental health programs with measurable outcomes.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations running neuroscience and mental health programs in Georgia can seek support to improve access to care, advance health equity, and strengthen frontline health workforces. Grants from Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine back initiatives in Alzheimer’s, depression, schizophrenia, crisis intervention, stigma reduction, and related wellness and recovery-focused services with measurable health outcomes.

The College Well-Being Funding Opportunity aims to enhance the health of college students through innovative programs and research. Offered by the American College Health Foundation, it provides up to two awards of $3,500 to eligible institutions for improving campus infrastructure that promotes student well-being. This initiative encourages creativity and collaboration among campus health professionals to develop effective, measurable outcomes in student wellness. Vanguard Resident FellowshipThe American Psychiatric Association has participated in the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) since 1973. The program goals are to advance the quality of mental and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services and improve mental health care outcomes for all. The program seeks to increase the number and quality of psychiatrists who teach, administer services, conduct research, and provide direct mental and/or substance use disorder services to our Nation’s communities, and to treat and serve populations with higher prevalence of behavioral health challenges and conditions more effectively.Program Benefits:
