Mission Statement

The Bates Philanthropic Initiative (BPI) is committed to making a positive impact on our community by ensuring that high school students in Colorado experiencing financial hardship have access to quality post-secondary education and career opportunities with a particular focus on career and technical education (CTE).

We provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors with a financial need who are pursuing post-secondary certifications, associate degrees, and apprenticeships in skills-based fields.

In addition to scholarships, BPI provides grants to nonprofit partners that deliver critical wrap-around services like transportation, childcare, language support, and mentoring to these financially disadvantaged young adults.

Kansas Association of Independent Crop Consultants Scholarship Fund

The Kansas Association of Independent Crop Consultants created this scholarship fund to award to a qualified individual majoring in an agricultural field.

The Eulipions Fund Grant, offered by The Denver Foundation, invites 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Colorado to apply for funding between $4,000 and $10,000. This grant supports initiatives that promote and preserve Colorado's African-American artistic expression and performing arts. AΩA Stories Award

The AΩA Stories Award celebrates the important role narratives play in medical education. It is open to medical students enrolled at institutions with an active AΩA chapter who have completed at least three months of clinical clerkship experience by the submission deadline (typically M3/M4 at time of submission). 

Medical students may reflect on experiences that have shaped their understanding of service, compassion, professionalism, and the human dimensions of medicine. Through narrative writing, participants explore what it means to embody AΩA’s motto: “Be worthy to serve the suffering.”

The Film Festival Support and Promotion Grant, provided by the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade, offers financial assistance to over 40 film festivals annually in Colorado. This grant particularly supports emerging festivals in rural areas, aiming to enhance local economies by attracting visitors. Applicants must ensure their festivals are located in Colorado and submit the necessary interest form three months prior to the event. This initiative fosters community engagement and promotes the film industry.
