The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, established in 2001 by Mark and Jim Wahlberg, aims to support youth service programs that eliminate barriers to success for inner city youth. The initiative aims to cultivate the next generation of urologic researchers. Importantly, research projects no longer require a full 10-week commitment during summer, providing greater flexibility for participants. Grays Harbor Community Foundation

Established in 1994, Grays Harbor Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is known in our community for giving grants to other nonprofits in Grays Harbor County and for scholarships for Grays Harbor youth, but that is not our business.

Our real business is helping people, families, groups, and businesses be philanthropic or charitable. We provide the administrative and investment management services that make it easy for donors to be involved at whatever level they wish, and to accomplish their charitable goals with their tax deductible donations that improve the quality of life in Grays Harbor.

Scholarships

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation awards scholarships to local students for education after high school. The emphasis is on undergraduate studies at any two or four year college or university and vocational/technical programs leading to a license or certification.

Students submit only one application. When selected, the recipient is matched to the criteria of an individual scholarship by the scholarship review committee.

L. George Pauze Scholarship

The L. George Pauze Scholarship is new to the Community Foundation, but has been in existence since the 1970s. In January of 1970, Pauze announced the L. George Pauze Scholarship for a graduate of Hoquiam High School he had established with the help of his friends and attorneys, Omar Parker and George G. Wandel. Mr. Pauze came from Montreal to Grays Harbor in 1907. After years of hard work and ingenuity, he was able to maneuver himself into the ownership of a thriving lumber mill. George said: “You know, I didn’t have a chance to go to college, and I always missed it…I might have done even better if I’d had the opportunity to go. Actually, education is much more important now than in my day.” The law firm of Parker, Johnson, Parker (now Parker, Winkelman) has administered the Trust established that day, awarding at least one scholarship each year. The Gray Harbor Community Foundation is proud to now administer the scholarship to continue this tradition in perpetuity, and honor this “true gentleman.”

The Drug Delivery Faculty Starter Grant from the PhRMA Foundation supports early-career researchers in drug delivery, providing $100,000 for one year. Eligible applicants include full-time faculty at accredited U.S. universities within their first five years of independent status. The grant emphasizes innovative research that enhances drug transport and dosage forms. Recipients must notify the Foundation of any external funding exceeding $250,000. This initiative aims to foster scientific independence and collaboration in biopharmaceutical innovation.

The Drug Discovery Faculty Starter Grant, offered by the PhRMA Foundation, supports early-career researchers in drug discovery at U.S. universities. With a funding amount of $100,000 for one year, this grant is targeted at faculty members within five years of their independent status. The program aims to foster innovative research that integrates various scientific disciplines, ultimately leading to novel treatments for patients. Eligibility extends to full-time faculty members eligible for promotion.

The William W. and Beverly I. Sutton Scholarship, provided by the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, aims to empower Muskegon County residents to achieve their educational dreams. This scholarship is available to high school seniors, current college students, and adult learners. With over $1 million in scholarships awarded annually, it reflects the Foundation's commitment to fostering educational opportunities and community growth, ensuring that the legacy of Bill and Beverly Sutton continues to inspire future generations.

Community Foundation of East Mississippi

Otis Dreams of Books Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Otis Douglas, who had a lifelong love of reading and learning. Many nights, Otis would fall asleep reading his daughter’s schoolbooks. He was unable to finish his own high school education, and this gave him the deepest appreciation for learning. Our hope for this scholarship is to honor his legacy by fostering a love of learning and reading in students pursuing their college education. 

The Drug Discovery Postdoctoral Fellowship by the PhRMA Foundation supports researchers in a multidisciplinary training program at accredited U.S. universities. Aimed at enhancing credentials in drug discovery, it funds innovative research with potential human applications. Proposals should focus on biological validation of drug targets across various scientific disciplines. The fellowship provides $60,000 in annual stipend support for up to 24 months, contingent on the awardee's continued employment at the university.

Good Sports is a national non-profit organization dedicated to donating new sports equipment, footwear, and apparel to schools and youth organizations across the U.S. This program allows approved organizations to receive up to eight donations over two years. Eligibility includes serving youth aged 3-18 in high poverty areas and ensuring access to physical activity. Organizations must also adhere to specific requirements, including shipping fees and evaluations after each donation.

The PhRMA Foundation offers a Drug Delivery Postdoctoral Fellowship aimed at fostering biopharmaceutical innovation and enhancing research capabilities in drug delivery. This fellowship supports both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens who are involved in collaborative research training at accredited U.S. universities. Awardees receive a stipend of $60,000 per year for 12 to 24 months, with funding contingent on ongoing employment in the postdoctoral program. The Drug Discovery Predoctoral Fellowship by the PhRMA Foundation supports PhD candidates engaged in thesis research in drug discovery. This fellowship offers $30,000 annually for 12 to 24 months, encouraging innovative research that integrates multiple scientific disciplines. Applicants must be full-time, in-residence students at accredited U.S. universities and have completed significant coursework. The funding is conditional upon continued enrollment and is intended for stipend support, with some funds allowable for research-related incidentals.

The FY 2025 EDA Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs aim to enhance economic growth and resilience in distressed communities. EDA invites ongoing applications for funding, focusing on innovative approaches that leverage regional strengths. The updated NOFO emphasizes timely reviews and outlines submission procedures for core programs under the Public Works and Economic Development Act. Grantees are encouraged to develop unique initiatives that foster lasting economic prosperity.

The Security and Preparedness (SAP) Program, supported by the National Science Foundation, promotes fundamental research addressing global and national security issues. It emphasizes intellectual merit and broader impacts, encouraging projects that are methodologically sound and empirically driven. Research areas include international relations, political violence, and peace science, among others. The program also fosters undergraduate research experiences and methodological innovations, while strictly avoiding applied research.

The Historically Black Colleges and Universities - Undergraduate Program (HBCU-UP) aims to enhance STEM undergraduate education and research at HBCUs. It offers various funding opportunities, including Research Initiation Awards, Targeted Infusion Projects, Implementation Projects, and Broadening Participation Research Centers, to support innovative educational goals and broaden participation in STEM fields. Proposals are due on various dates, ensuring multiple opportunities for institutions to engage with this vital funding.

The Abbey Mural Prize, established in 1932, supports the creation and restoration of public murals across the United States. This prestigious award, administered by the National Academy of Design since 1940, emphasizes projects that enhance community engagement and social activism through art. Grants typically range from $10,000 to $40,000, with a total annual funding cap of $125,000. Eligible applicants include artists, architects, and nonprofit organizations committed to impactful mural projects.

The Kids Run the Nation Grant Fund, managed by the RRCA, offers financial support to running clubs, schools, and nonprofits that promote inclusive youth running programs. Since 2007, the fund has awarded over $385,000 to 495+ programs, helping more than 198,500 children embrace running. Grants between $500 and $1,000 are available for structured, gender-inclusive programs that meet specific criteria, encouraging healthy lifestyles and regular participation in running activities.

The Martha Boschen Porter Fund Grant supports emerging and transitioning artists in the Berkshire Taconic region, providing them with resources for professional development and the creation of new work. The fund invites applications from individual artists and organizations that foster innovative collaborations. Eligibility includes a two-year residency in the region and a strong connection to the area. The grant aims to enhance the artistic community and offer opportunities for artists to thrive.

Charles Black Construction Company, Inc. Scholarship

The Charles Black Scholarship Fund award identifies and recognizes high school seniors at various high schools in northeast Georgia who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The scholarship fund was created by the Charles Black Construction Company in 2002 as a way to show appreciation for past business relationships by giving back to the community. The scholarship was formally known as the Northeast Georgia School Superintendent’s Scholarship. The resulting scholarships recognize today’s graduating seniors, inspire undergraduate students, and will impact the quality of life in our communities for generations to come.

This scholarship is a one-time award, and recipient school systems and award amounts are determined each year by the Charles Black Construction Company. In 2026, scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.

The 2026 scholarships will be 41, $1,000 awards available to graduating seniors at: Apalachee High School, Banks County High School, Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, Commerce City, Elbert County High School, Franklin County High School, Gilmer County High School, Hart County High School, Lanier Christian Academy, Lumpkin County High School, Madison County High School, Newton County High Schools (Alcovy, Eastside and Newton), Rabun County High School, Towns County High School, Union County High School, White County High School, and Winder-Barrow High School.

Helping to educate the next generation

The Renton Regional Community Foundation manages a number of scholarship funds and strongly supports your dream to pursue a post-secondary education. In 2025 we awarded $117,950 to 27 students. 

In 2026, 22 scholarships are provided due to the generosity of Renton Regional Community Foundation fund holders.

This scholarship was established in 2018 for the purpose of furthering the education and overall development of a student who has lost a parent prior to graduating high school.

The Feasibility Clinical Trials of Mind and Body Interventions (R34) program seeks to support trials focused on complementary health approaches for conditions identified as high-priority by NCCIH. This funding opportunity aims to gather essential data necessary for planning future clinical efficacy studies. Applicants must demonstrate the feasibility of interventions and their potential impact on public health. Contacting NCCIH scientific contacts before submission is encouraged, and a Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives is required.

Eastern Colorado Scholarship

The Eastern Colorado Scholarship is designed to support post-secondary pursuits of students throughout the region and is funded through contributions from many community members and legacy gifts. 

The Eastern Colorado Scholarship is available to students attending school in Eastern Colorado (Logan County, Morgan County, Phillips County, Washington County, Sedgwick County, and Yuma County). The scholarship is open to students pursuing any kind of secondary education including four-year degrees, two-year degrees, trade schools, etc.

All scholarships will be paid directly to the recipient’s school and must be used for the upcoming academic year. Roy and Linda Funk Scholarship

The Roy and Linda Funk Scholarship Fund was established to assist students in pursuing additional schooling. This scholarship is available to students from the I-70 corridor on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Students may only receive this award once; past recipients may not reapply.

The National Center for Construction Safety and Health Research and Translation (U54) aims to enhance worker safety in the construction industry through innovative research and intervention strategies. By fostering partnerships and focusing on evidence-based solutions, the Center will address critical safety and health challenges faced by construction workers. The initiative aligns with NIOSH's strategic objectives, promoting collaboration among academic institutions and organizations to improve health outcomes and reduce the occupational health burden in this vital sector.

Susan McGraw Habitat for Humanity Scholarship

The Susan McGraw Scholarship is need-based and is available only to individuals or family members living within a Habitat community in Berthoud, Fort Collins, or Loveland and who seek to further their education to enhance their employment prospects. The scholarship is open to students pursuing any kind of secondary education including four-year degrees, two-year degrees, trade schools, single classes, etc. Eligible applicants may receive scholarships for educational, training, or certification programs at accredited institutions, furthering Susan McGraw’s legacy of fostering education and opportunity within the community.

The NATA Masters Student Grant Program, facilitated by the NATA Foundation, supports innovative research projects by master's students in athletic training. With a funding limit of $1,000 for one year, this program emphasizes ethical research practices and collaboration with faculty mentors. Eligible applicants must be current master's students and members of NATA. The foundation aims to enhance the athletic training profession through research and education, fostering growth and development in healthcare.
