Mission

We help strengthen our local communities by providing grants to organizations that are vital to the well-being, growth and prosperity of the places where we live and work. The Foundation was established to provide grants to eligible 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations in five primary areas:

The Foundation Grants Committee meets once a year to review requests. Awards are made to eligible 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Any organization interested in being considered should review the Foundation Guidelines and Instructions listed on the grant request form.

Nonprofit and community organizations in Danbury, Connecticut working on safety, youth development, social services, or environmental stewardship may be eligible for Enbridge community support. Focused on safe, vibrant, and sustainable communities, Enbridge invites groups near its operations to request US $1,000 - US $10,000 in donations, sponsorships, or in-kind support.

Valley Needs and Opportunities Grants

It has been the policy of the Valley Community Foundation to make grants in a range from $250 to $10,000 to contribute to and support innovative programs and the urgent needs of our local nonprofits serving the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and/or Shelton, Connecticut.

The PLTW Gateway program, in partnership with Burns and McDonnell, aims to enhance STEM education by supporting schools in eligible counties to implement PLTW Gateway units. With a total grant of $20,000, schools are encouraged to offer at least one unit per academic year, fostering real-world skills and engagement in STEM fields. This initiative seeks to increase access and participation in high-quality STEM learning experiences, ultimately preparing students for future careers.

The PLTW Launch program, in collaboration with Burns and McDonnell, aims to enhance STEM education by expanding access to innovative educational modules in eligible schools. This initiative supports public and charter schools in targeted counties, focusing on increasing student engagement in STEM fields.
