Efficient Affordable Resilient Neighborhoods (EARN) Initiative

DOEE seeks eligible entities to develop a deployment plan for neighborhood-scale electrification and clean energy implementation that improves energy efficiency, affordability and resilience outcomes in one or two District neighborhoods. This is a planning grant. It does not fund implementation.

The Training for Emerging Cyber Heroes (TECH) Force Grant, provided by the District of Columbia Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice, aims to support innovative cyber safety initiatives. This grant encourages the development of programs that empower youth with cybersecurity skills, promoting public safety and digital resilience. Organizations focused on cybersecurity education and youth engagement are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is June 29, 2026.

Community Based Grant Programs 

Domestic Workers Employment Rights

OAG will make up to $260,000 in grant funding for Fiscal Year 2026 to be awarded through the Domestic Workers Employment Rights grant program.

Funding is allocated annually, and subject to appropriation and funds’ availability. Grant award amounts vary as determined by the scope of the projects. Selected grantees will work to provide outreach and education, capacity building, stakeholder engagement as related to employment laws protecting domestic workers.

Workplace Rights 

OAG will make up to $750,000 available in grant funding for Fiscal Year 2026 to be awarded through the Workplace Rights grant program. OAG will award funds to at least two qualified community-based organizations. Each award shall be $100,000 or more per year, per grant, subject to the requirements of the grant agreement and subject to the availability of appropriations.

Funding is allocated annually, and subject to appropriation and funds’ availability. Grant award amounts vary as determined by the scope of the projects. Selected grantees will work to educate and support employees as they navigate their rights and responsibilities granted by various employment laws and programs.

About Northeast SARE

The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program offers grants and education to farmers, educators, service providers, researchers and others to address key issues affecting the sustainability of agriculture throughout our region.

The program serves Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The program is administered by Northeast SARE's host institution, the University of Vermont.

Farming Community Grant Program

The Northeast SARE Farming Community Grant applies social science research and education projects that strengthen farming and food systems at the community level.

These projects explore innovative approaches to improving the health and sustainability of agricultural communities in the Northeast. This program supports projects that are grounded in community partnerships and informed by the lived experiences of farmers. It encourages collaboration among farmers, service providers, researchers, and nonprofit organizations to co-create solutions that are responsive to local needs and scalable across the region.

This program encourages innovative solutions to challenges in farming and food systems in the Northeast USA, including but not limited to the areas of: Marketing and business; Crop production; Raising livestock; Aquaculture; Economic and social sustainability; Ecological knowledge; Projects related to climate and/or bioenergy work that provide direct or indirect benefits to farmers,ranchers, and private foresters; and more.

Technical Assistance Program

Applicants and grantees of the Farming Community Grant Program are eligible for Technical Assistance (TA) provided by Northeast SARE’s Technical Assistance Providers.

Funding: This grant is reimbursement based; you must spend money to receive the grant funds.

Consolidated RFP for Affordable Housing Financing

The Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for affordable housing finance resources is focused on real estate development projects that produce or preserve affordable housing in the District of Columbia that require gap financing. This RFP is accepting applications for a range of Federal affordable housing finance resources including, 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), District of Columbia LIHTCs (DC LIHTCs), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program, the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF), the Recovery Housing Program (RHP), and the Local Rent Supplement Program (LRSP). Also, the DHCD Property Acquisition and Disposition Division (PADD) will have solicitations for offers for vacant sites in the District of Columbia available for acquisition.

The Catholic School Leadership Development Grant Program aims to cultivate and retain promising leaders within the Catholic school system. In partnership with Loyola Marymount University, this initiative offers a graduate-level online Certificate in Catholic School Administration, covering 80% of tuition costs and providing funding for essential travel. The one-year program focuses on mission effectiveness, operational management, and instructional leadership, requiring participants to serve two years in their diocese post-completion, thereby enhancing local educational leadership.

The Albert G. and Olive H. Schlink Foundation, established in 1966, has significantly impacted Ohio's nonprofit sector by increasing its annual grant distribution from an initial $500 to over $1.4 million in 2023. NCRC Field Empowerment Fund (FEF) - Housing Counseling Services

The Field Empowerment Fund (FEF) empowers NCRC network members to level up established service lines.

The Housing Counseling Services series within FEF supports HUD-approved housing counseling agencies in driving homeownership, such as through pre-purchase counseling. In addition, the program builds agency knowledge on heirs’ property challenges to better equip first-time and low-income homebuying households with the know-how to retain intergenerational wealth.

In doing so, FEF-HCS aims to help underserved families begin their homeownership journey, with an additional goal of ensuring foresight into the long-term future of their home purchase.

The FEF-HCS series is funded in partnership with Key Bank and HSBC, and targets communities within the Key Bank and HSBC branch footprints.

Through these partnerships, $2.5 million in Key Bank geographies and $1.5 million in HSBC geographies has been allocated for the subgrants for direct-to-client housing counseling services that will be awarded in three rounds in the FEF-HCS track.

The Strategic Alliance Matching Grant by the NCAA Division III aims to bolster ethnic minority and gender representation in senior athletics administration roles. The Strategic Alliance Matching Grant - Division II offers financial support to enhance ethnic minority and gender representation in mid- to senior-level athletics administration roles across NCAA Division II institutions. With an annual budget of $860,000, the grant aims to fund up to 20 schools and conferences each year. Eligible applicants must be active Division II members and are encouraged to collaborate with their human resources departments during the proposal process, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

The Asian Cultural Council's Individual Fellowship provides artists, scholars, and arts professionals from Asia and the United States with opportunities for self-directed cultural exchange and research in unfamiliar regions. Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Access Model Care Coordination and Support Grant Program

CGT Care Coordination and Support Grant Program: DHCF will competitively award two (2) grants of up to $300,000 each to non-profit organizations to help eligible DC Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries with sickle cell disease overcome barriers to accessing and receiving gene therapy. One grant will focus primarily on youth and the other on adults. Grantees will provide direct services not covered by Medicaid or other funding sources when necessary to help beneficiaries initiate and complete treatment—such as transportation, lodging, childcare, nutrition assistance, and behavioral health care. They will also deliver or coordinate wraparound supports, such as case management, care coordination, patient navigation, and community health worker services. No grant funds may be used to provide services or supports already funded through any other source, including but not limited to Medicaid and CHIP.

The Scheidel Foundation College Success Grant aims to empower students to achieve post-secondary credentials through targeted support initiatives.
