HOME-American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP)

Congress appropriated $5 billion in American Rescue Plan funds to be administered through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) to address the need for homelessness assistance and supportive services. The State of Nebraska was allocated $14 million for the Balance of State. The HOME-American Rescue Plan or “HOME-ARP” was created to perform four activities that must primarily benefit qualifying populations. The funding is available through September 2030.

The Ken Reed Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides $500 to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend the UN-L College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources or the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis. Eligible Areas

Communities in a county with a population of less than 100,000, as determined by the most recent federal decennial census, are eligible. Presently, this excludes communities in Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy Counties.

The Betterment Grant Funds, managed by the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, support projects that enhance the North Platte region. Eligible nonprofit organizations and public agencies can apply for grants ranging from $500 to $35,000 to fund various initiatives, including facility improvements, community events, and technology upgrades. These grants aim to foster community development and resilience, ensuring lasting benefits for local residents and organizations.

The Enbridge Safe Community First Responder Program is designed to support emergency response organizations across Canada and the U.S. by providing grants for safety equipment, training, and educational programs.
