This initiative aims to empower women through skills training, small business development, and leadership programs, ultimately fostering their participation in economic growth. Eligible organizations must directly serve women and girls in specified locations, demonstrating measurable impacts and sustainability beyond funding.

Action Plan to End Veteran Homelessness

The Arizona Department of Veterans' Services (ADVS) provides critical, statewide coordination and technical assistance to services and organizations serving Veterans. This includes activities such as the Arizona Veteran StandDown Alliance, and outreach events that support homeless and at-risk military Veterans in Cochise, Coconino, Gila, Graham/Greenlee, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pima, Pinal, Yavapai, and Yuma Counties.

The Mini-Grants for Education program, funded by the Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation, aims to support K-12 educators in eligible communities. Grants ranging from $100 to $500 are available for diverse projects, including environmental initiatives and STEM education. Since its inception in 2006, the program has allocated over $700,000 to enhance classroom experiences. Teachers and school staff in specified areas can apply, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed.

The Sparklight/Cable One Charitable Giving Fund supports local nonprofits and organizations focused on education, food insecurity, and community development. They prioritize impactful partnerships that strengthen communities. The fund welcomes various funding requests, including special projects and capital campaigns, while adhering to specific eligibility requirements such as tax-exempt status. Community Investment Fund

Community Investment Funds (CIFs) have been established in communities near our operations in Colorado, New Mexico and southeastern Arizona. The CIFs engage community leaders in cultivating and assessing community projects that address identified community priorities (developed at Community Partnership Panels), and allow them to allocate Freeport-McMoRan Foundation funds to programs and projects that encourage a strong focus on local capacity-building, community development and sustainability.

By fostering partnerships with various organizations, it addresses the need for trained ministers and supports various funding areas, including seminarian sponsorship and diaconate formation, ensuring a robust future for church leadership.

The PNC Foundation aims to enhance the lives of individuals in local communities through partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Their focus includes promoting educational opportunities, particularly for early childhood education, and supporting economic development initiatives. Grants are available for organizations that benefit low- to moderate-income families and enhance community growth. The foundation prioritizes programs that foster sustainability and diversity, ensuring a lasting impact on the communities they serve.

The David J. Morafka Memorial Research Award, established by the Desert Tortoise Council, offers $2,500 to support research on gopher tortoise species in the southwestern U.S. and Mexico. This award honors Dr. David J. Morafka's contributions to herpetology. Applicants must be affiliated with recognized institutions and present their findings at a Desert Tortoise Council symposium. Evaluation criteria include research significance, originality, and feasibility, ensuring impactful conservation efforts.

The Building Foundation Grants by Catholic Extension aim to support essential pastoral and administrative functions in under-resourced communities. These grants provide salary subsidies and operational funding to ordained, religious, and lay ministers, ensuring access to Catholic services. Prioritizing areas with significant financial need, this initiative seeks to sustain the church's presence where it is most critical, enabling continued ministry and outreach for those who may otherwise be underserved.

Catholic Extension provides essential funding to support the construction, expansion, or renovation of churches and community facilities. This initiative aims to meet the facility needs of under-resourced Catholic dioceses across the U.S. By focusing on active projects, Catholic Extension ensures that communities can enhance their worship spaces and support local ministries, ultimately fostering a stronger church community. Funding is available for both minor and major requests, with an emphasis on urgent needs and robust funding strategies.

The Ray Davies Community Services Scholarship, established by the Tucson Mayor and Council, aims to support students from Southern Arizona in their educational pursuits. With a focus on community service and academic potential, this scholarship is available for high school graduates demonstrating financial need. It reflects the commitment of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona to nurture future leaders through educational assistance, fostering a skilled workforce and vibrant communities.

The PNC Foundation's Grow Up Great Grant is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for children from birth to age 5. With a commitment of $500 million, this program focuses on improving school readiness through support in vocabulary development, social-emotional learning, and the arts. By partnering with community-based nonprofits, PNC aims to foster stronger, smarter, and healthier communities, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.

AZ Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

Rural communities in Arizona are faced with the increasing challenge of balancing future growth while keeping existing housing stock, infrastructure and community facilities from declining. The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) is dedicated to helping rural communities face these challenges through its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funding.

The CDBG program is a federally funded program through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and authorized by Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. CDBG provides grant opportunities for community revitalization to ensure decent housing, a suitable living environment, and economic opportunity for rural Arizona.

ADOH Community Development and Revitalization (CD&R) division provides CDBG (State and Small Cities Program) funded grants to rural incorporated cities, towns and counties (excluding the counties of Maricopa and Pima and the cities and towns therein, unincorporated Pinal County, Tribal Reservation Land and the cities of Casa Grande, Douglas, Flagstaff, Prescott, Sierra Vista, and Yuma) who do not receive CDBG funds directly from HUD. Credit Union West supports local communities through its sponsorship and support program. The CU West CARES Charitable Foundation provides grants, contributions, and volunteers to enhance the quality of life for individuals in Arizona. They focus on four key areas: community heroes, education for all ages, human health and wellness, and assistance for distressed and underserved communities. Organizations operating within specific Arizona counties are eligible for funding, while personal events and political initiatives are not.

The Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix offers the Small Grants Program to support initiatives that strengthen the local Jewish community. With funding up to $3,000, eligible organizations can apply for projects that address urgent needs or leverage matching grants. Since 2017, this streamlined process prioritizes projects that directly impact the Greater Phoenix Jewish community, reinforcing CJP's commitment to innovation, emergency response, and sustainable local Jewish life.

The APS Community Impact Grants aim to address diverse community needs across Arizona through support for education, small business, arts, human services, environment, and community development. By focusing on under-resourced populations, these grants foster inclusivity and resilience. Nonprofits can apply annually for funding, with additional consideration for projects that enhance community engagement and quality of life. This initiative highlights APS's commitment to empowering local organizations to create a positive impact in their communities.

The APS/Phoenix Suns STEM Teacher Grants support K-12 teachers in Arizona by funding innovative, hands-on STEM projects in classrooms. With awards of up to $2,500, these grants aim to inspire students' love for science, technology, engineering, and math. Each year, a total of $50,000 is available for projects that promote creative learning experiences, from robotic programming to aquaponic farming. Grants are available for classroom projects occurring between January and May.

The Boilard-Harkin Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, supports students pursuing post-secondary education at community colleges. With annual awards of up to $1,250, this scholarship aims to alleviate financial barriers for high school graduates from Southern Arizona. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate a commitment to their educational goals. This initiative reflects the foundation's dedication to fostering future leaders and investing in the local community.

David W. Moore Memorial Scholarship

Open to graduating seniors from Atwater, Golden Valley and Oakdale pursuing a degree in agriculture, ag-related fields, animal science or teaching or primary healthcare. Students must demonstrate financial need, community involvement and have a 2.5+ GPA.
