Best Scouting Organization Grants in Hawaii

Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status in Hawaii can seek funding for youth development, community programs, capital projects, and other charitable activities. Grants from Franz Bakery Foundation help organizations in Franz service areas strengthen families and youth, including scouting groups and similar programs supporting young people’s growth.

High school seniors involved in leadership or athletics who plan to attend a four-year U.S. college outside Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin can receive scholarship support through CommunityGiving’s Ernest Morgan Memorial Scholarship. This $5,000 award may benefit Hawaii-based youth development or scouting organizations helping eligible students apply.

Hawaii youth development and leadership nonprofits hosting fundraising events can access in-kind transportation and sponsorship support through Alaska Airlines Foundation’s corporate giving program. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations working on youth success, career readiness, care and belonging, environmental sustainability, or community resiliency in communities served by Alaska Airlines may benefit; requests are generally one-time and must be submitted six weeks before the event.

Young Health Programme

The Young Health Programme (YHP) is a global disease prevention initiative, aiming to provide education for young people to feel empowered to make informed choices about their health and catalyse a global, youth-led advocacy movement.

The programme operates in over 40 countries and partners with more than 60 non-profit organisations, including UNICEF and Plan International. The YHP combines community programmes, research, advocacy, and the development of young leaders, with a focus on underserved communities.

Since its launch in 2010, the YHP has directly reached over 23 million young people, trained over 1 million, and engaged more than 23,000 AstraZeneca employees, who have volunteered their time with more than 140,000 hours.

The YHP aims to prevent the most common non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer, diabetes, heart disease and respiratory disease, by addressing five main risk factors: tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol, and air pollution. Additionally, the programme tackles climate-health impacts to build healthier communities, recognising, as projected in the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, that children born after 2010 will be the first generation to enter adulthood in a world where the average temperature will reach 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, and are expected to experience a +2°C rise within their lifetime.1

AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship 2026

AstraZeneca is looking for passionate, driven young leaders to join their 2026 Young Health Programme (YHP) Impact Fellowship. The Fellowship supports young advocates to create actionable change to: 

• Advance health equity – with a focus on acting early to prevent non-communicable diseases among young people, or supporting young people living with rare diseases.
• Take action on climate and nature – advocating for the mitigation of the harmful effects of climate change on the health and well-being of young people.
• Build health systems resilience – contributing to stronger health systems that prioritise earlier intervention to meet today’s needs and mitigate tomorrow’s disease burden.

Benefits

The selected Fellows will gain access to networks, funding and development opportunities, enabling them to drive a global health movement led by and for young people:

A fully-funded scholarship to attend the 2026 One Young World Summit in Cape Town, South Africa (3–6 November 2026) as well as access to the One Young World Ambassador Network and the Young Health Programme (YHP) Alumni group of other young changemakers working to improve youth health.

Structured learning and development offerings to enable them to scale their impact, including both self-directed and live learning. This includes access to the One Young World Academy, an award-winning mini-MBA programme, mentorship from AstraZeneca colleagues and professional training.

Each selected Fellow will receive a grant of either USD $10,000 or USD $50,000 (if selected as the Lead2030 winner** for Sustainable Development Goal 3, for which applicants will be automatically considered) from AstraZeneca, through their non-profit organisation. Fellows are expected to use the grant to implement a project focused on either (1) advancing health equity (2) taking action on climate and nature (3) building health systems resilience.

Scott Chadwick Scholarship for Emerging Leaders

This memorial scholarship was established in 2020 by the Marietta Kiwanis Foundation in honor of former Club President and outstanding community servant leader, Scott Chadwick.

Students pursuing higher education or vocational training in Hawaii and beyond can access funding through the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington’s Maury and Betty Hull Endowed Scholarship; awards start at More than US $2,000. Graduates of Quillayute Valley or Cape Flattery school districts showing strong scholarship, character, and leadership may be eligible.

Big Sky high school students in grades 9–11 who show leadership, volunteerism, and a passion for outdoor adventure can receive a summer trip focused on outdoor exploration and service. Hawaii youth development and leadership programs may share this opportunity with eligible students interested in a structured adventure experience.

High school seniors and college or non-traditional students from Benton, Stearns, or Sherburne County in Minnesota pursuing criminal justice or first responder studies can receive $2,000 for two- or four-year U.S. programs. CommunityGiving’s Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship may benefit youth leadership pathways similar to scouting organizations, though it is not limited to Hawaii applicants.

Young people ages 13 to 19 in the Berkshire Taconic region can receive US $200 - US $800 to pursue summer arts enrichment, including apprenticeships, internships, or learning a musical instrument. The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation pays vendors directly for tuition, supplies, or travel, and youth leadership or development programs may be eligible if focused on the arts.

Nonprofit organizations running youth-focused programs and projects, particularly those serving large numbers of young people, may be eligible for support in Whatcom County and beyond. Chuckanut Health Foundation’s Eleanor & Henry Jansen Foundation prioritizes initiatives with strong volunteer involvement and encourages projects leveraging multiple funding sources, including those relevant to scouting and youth leadership development.

Youth-focused organizations and programs in Hawaii that support Native or Indigenous young people may be eligible for youth leadership development support through the Aspen Institute’s Center for Native American Youth Champions for Change program. This national initiative elevates Indigenous youth leaders ages 14–24, including those engaged in scouting-style and community service activities.

Youth-serving organizations and schools in Hawaii supporting youth development and leadership can connect eligible public high school juniors to the Bezos Scholars Program. Bezos Family Foundation supports civic engagement and education by providing leadership training, college advising, an Aspen Ideas Festival experience, and project funding for student-led Community Change Projects in the U.S. and Africa.

Female high school seniors active in Girl Scouts and graduating from a Smith County, Texas public, private, or homeschool program can receive US $1,000 toward any U.S. college. East Texas Communities Foundation supports youth leadership and education; Hawaii-based scouting organizations may note this as a model or for participating alumnae who relocate.

Students involved in youth leadership or community service in Hawaii can apply for Chick-fil-A Community Scholars awards up to US $25,000 to support college, vocational, or graduate education. This scholarship, open to eligible high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, includes a year-long mentoring and leadership development program that may benefit members of scouting organizations.

The Festus & Helen Stacy Foundation provides grants to non-profit organizations worldwide, especially those focusing on evangelism, leadership development, holistic ministries, and media outreach. Established in 1980, the foundation aims to support projects that address the needs of the marginalized and promote generous giving. Grants are typically awarded for specific initiatives in South Florida, nationally, and internationally, particularly in emerging nations. Organizations must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) to be eligible.

The OJJDP FY 2026 Mentoring for Youth Impacted by Opioids and Other Substance Use program aims to provide high-quality mentoring services to youth affected by substance use. This funding opportunity supports various mentoring formats, including one-on-one, group, and peer mentoring, to assist those currently using substances or at risk due to familial influences. The initiative seeks to enhance the well-being of these youth through supportive relationships and guidance.
