Adam Liepinis Memorial Scholarship

Established by the family of the late Adam Liepinis to provide tuition assistance to a graduating senior from Susquehanna or Wyoming counties, who will attend a post-secondary degree program with priority given to a student majoring in welding or automotive technology.

Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors. Applications are accepted from mid-November until mid-March. Scholarship award recipients will be announced at the high school awards ceremony. 

Matthew VanFleet Memorial Automotive Scholarship

Established by Matthew’s parents and his sister in memory of Matt who passed away in an automobile accident. The scholarship provides assistance to a student who will study automotive technology. The scholarship is available to students from all the school districts in Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties.

Julia A. Frystak Memorial Scholarship

In memory of Julia Frystak, a Montrose student who passed away due to injuries sustained in an accident. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who excels in academics and participates in athletics.

Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors. Applications are accepted from mid-November until mid-March. Scholarship award recipients will be announced at the high school awards ceremony. 

Mariano and Maria Lampazzi Fiaschi Memorial Scholarship

Established by Colonel Peter Fiaschi in memory of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to a graduating student from Susquehanna Community School District who intends to pursue a major in healthcare. The scholarship provides financial support for up to four years of college, contingent upon the recipient maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 and remaining in good standing within an accredited healthcare program.

The Skip Thavenet Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, honors Louis "Skip" Thavenet and supports students from 42 towns in Connecticut and Rhode Island. This scholarship, which awards approximately $500, aims to assist those pursuing education in technical fields, particularly in welding, manufacturing, and construction management. Since 1983, the foundation has awarded over $11.9 million, demonstrating its commitment to fostering local talent and providing educational opportunities.

Scholarships

We are honored to be the stewards of over 90 scholarship funds established by philanthropically-minded individuals in our community. Generous donors entrust us to connect them to dynamic students to provide financial resources for their education through scholarships. Our donors establish scholarship funds with criteria they wish to be met by applicants. Our scholarship committee considers the criteria, evaluates the submitted applications, and chooses the best candidates for each scholarship.

The Paramo Foundation Scholarship Award

The Paramo Foundation Scholarship Award is awarded annually to low income students attending a college or university focused on the trades, including but not limited to, cosmetology programs. The scholarship will provide a full scholarship for one year at a trades school.

The Kathy, Russ and Jim Keller Scholarship, administered by the Crown Point Community Foundation, offers financial support to graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in Special Education. This scholarship aims to enrich the quality of life in South Lake County by providing necessary funding for educational endeavors. Eligible applicants must reside within the CPCF service area. This non-renewable scholarship encourages local youth to advance their education and contribute positively to their community.

Earl Haas Scholarship

The Earl Haas Scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Earl Haas. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance for Kalamazoo County residents or persons who have graduated from a school within Kalamazoo County.

KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution. 

This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

The LPGA Foundation

The LPGA Foundation supports women and young people through programs and initiatives aimed at empowering them through the game of golf. Since its founding, The LPGA Foundation has touched more than 500,000 lives through various scholarship and financial assistance programs, along with its flagship junior golf program, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf. The LPGA Foundation was established in 1991 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which supports junior golf programs, scholarships, and financial assistance programs for women and young ladies.

Dolores Hope Financial Assistance Initiative

The LPGA Foundation has a tradition of taking care of its members and others in the golf industry. The Financial Assistance Fund was renamed the Dolores Hope LPGA Financial Assistance Initiative in 2007 to acknowledge Hope’s generous support of the fund and her long-time friendship with the LPGA.

The scholarships we award vary each year based on the unique criteria of each scholarship. In 2025, we awarded over $3 million in scholarships to over 500 students, including $1.3 million to 110 students in western NC through our Disaster Relief and Resilience Scholarship.

Depending on the scholarship, it may pay for tuition, room and board, books, fees and/or other related educational expenses. 

Fred M. Parrish, Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund

Graduating high school seniors from public high schools in Johnston County who are continuing their studies at an accredited college, university, community college or technical school. The Scholarship committee shall have the power to make recommendations to the Foundation as to deserving individual recipients and appropriate scholarship amounts, based on academic performance and on financial need.

This will be outlined in your award notification. The minimum scholarship award amount is $1,000.

NCCF scholarship awards are only issued to not-for-profit institutions and government entities such as public colleges or universities.

The Daily Bread Grants, offered by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, aim to support congregations with feeding ministries. Starting from November 1st, organizations can apply for $500 grants to help alleviate hunger in their communities. Priority is given to rural ministries, and applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted or until November 15th. This initiative not only provides immediate assistance but also encourages further financial support for food-based services.

Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine (B.O.S.S.) Scholarship

Introduction

Black women navigate systemic barriers in education and the workplace every day. EverGreen Dreams exists to change that narrative. As an organization founded by a Black woman and championed by advocates deeply rooted in our communities, we're committed to creating pathways to success for the next generation of Black female scholars. Through the Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine (B.O.S.S.) Scholarship, we provide financial support to two graduating high school seniors, awarding each at least $1,000 to help them pursue their educational dreams with one less obstacle in their way.

Description

The Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine Scholarship (B.O.S.S.) aims to make racial equality a reality by helping outstanding Black cis or transgendered women high school students achieve their dreams to continue their education. 

The Chevron Changing the Face of Golf Scholarship, awarded by the LPGA Foundation, aims to empower female high school seniors from minority backgrounds pursuing STEM studies. Established in 2022, this scholarship promotes diversity in golf and education, honoring Dinah Shore's legacy. By supporting young women, the LPGA Foundation continues its mission to change the face of golf and provide educational opportunities, enhancing representation in both golf and STEM fields.

Established by the family of Mr. Dumitrov to provide tuition assistance for a graduating senior from any of the High Schools in Susquehanna County who will matriculate at a trade school or post-secondary degree program.

Thomas Conaty Memorial Scholarship

Established by the family of Mr. Conaty to provide a college or post-secondary degree program scholarship to a student from Blue Ridge, Elk Lake or Montrose Area School Districts, including home schooled students from those districts. Preference will be given to a student who will pursue a degree in business or a related field.

The Scholarships for Careers Endowment, established by a local family in connection with the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, aims to support graduates of Elk Lake School District and the Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center. This scholarship prioritizes students with financial need and promise for future success, assisting them in pursuing vocational, technical, academic, or other post-secondary programs. Additionally, it contributes to special projects within the school district and community.

The Women's Fund Grant, established in 2006 by the Women for Women giving circle, aims to provide essential financial support to organizations addressing the needs of women and their families in Sangamon County and surrounding areas. This private fund, managed by the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln, prioritizes collaborative programs aligned with recommendations from the Sangamon Success report, ensuring impactful contributions to women and children's programs.

The Alexandra Armstrong Innovation Grant, offered by the Foundation for Financial Planning, recognizes nonprofits that demonstrate exceptional creativity and impact in pro bono financial planning services. Established in honor of Alexandra Armstrong, a dedicated advocate for community service and financial planning, this grant aims to expand access to vital financial advice for underserved populations. Eligible organizations can apply annually to receive funding that supports innovative programs designed to enhance financial well-being.

The Scheidel Foundation offers Integrative Cancer Care Grants aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with cancer. This initiative supports organizations that promote awareness and adoption of integrative practices, targeting both the medical community and patients. The Foundation seeks proposals that foster long-term solutions and innovative programs, focusing on evidence-based information and practices. Grants are available through a selective process, emphasizing transformative impacts in the field.

The Community Foundation of Abilene, established in 1985, aims to enhance community philanthropy by empowering donors and providing scholarships. The 'Another Step Forward' scholarship assists single parents, like Kaye, who have faced challenges in pursuing education. This initiative supports individuals returning to school, ensuring they receive financial help to achieve their academic goals. By offering these opportunities, the Foundation fosters resilience and growth within the Abilene community.

The Ignite Fund offers ten $6,000 grants for innovative visual arts projects by Chicago-area artists or collectives. It seeks community-focused, collaborative work that prioritizes accessibility and public engagement. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong artistic vision, effective collaboration, and a clear understanding of their target audience. Projects should be completed within a year and must engage local communities. This initiative is designed to enhance the cultural landscape by supporting experimental and unconventional artistic practices.

The Tri Kappa Scholarship - Sue Crisman Memorial Scholarship, established by the Crown Point Community Foundation, supports women over 21 who are returning to education after a significant gap and are involved in community service. This non-renewable scholarship aims to enhance the quality of life in South Lake County by providing financial assistance to deserving candidates. Award recipients are invited to a special Scholarship Awards Night, fostering community engagement and recognition.

The Big Country County Medical Society Alliance Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Abilene, supports students from Taylor, Jones, Haskell, or Callahan County pursuing medical degrees. This scholarship encourages local students to enter the medical profession, ensuring a future of healthcare providers rooted in the community. Eligible candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, must be enrolled or accepted into medical school, and must be residents of the specified counties for at least one year.

The Dr. Brady Cox Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Abilene, honors the legacy of Dr. E. Brady Cox, a dedicated dentist and community member. This scholarship supports incoming college students pursuing education, medical, or agricultural degrees at accredited institutions. With over 150 scholarship funds, the Foundation empowers local students to achieve their academic aspirations and make a lasting impact in their fields, fostering a culture of philanthropy in Abilene.

The Brooks and Joan Fortune Family Foundation Grant supports educational, artistic, and outreach initiatives. Applications are accepted year-round, with a focus on projects that yield specific outcomes rather than general operating expenses. While historically centered in Indiana and Florida, the foundation welcomes proposals from across the country. Eligible organizations must hold a 501(c)(3) designation. This grant is an excellent opportunity for nonprofits aiming to make a tangible impact in their communities.

The Indian Land Tenure Foundation (ILTF) offers a Cultural Awareness Grant aimed at revitalizing the cultural and spiritual values related to Indian land. This initiative supports American Indian nations in enhancing their ties to the land, which is vital for traditional practices and beliefs. Eligible entities include tribal governments and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Ineligible activities encompass advocacy efforts, land purchases, and direct funding to individuals, ensuring resources focus on community-centered cultural preservation.

The Pittsburgh Foundation provides scholarship opportunities for students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students who are attending community colleges, four–year universities, graduate schools, and career/technical schools.

Sandra L. Neiderhiser/Ligonier Valley BPW Scholarship Fund

The Sandra Neiderhiser/Ligonier Valley BPW Scholarship Fund was established at The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County to provide scholarships to high school seniors who have faced social, economic, or educational barriers due to systemic gender inequity, and who reside in the Ligonier area of Pennsylvania who plan to go on to higher education in the form of college or vocational/technical school.
