Walter A. Glaub/Marshall County Industrial Association Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a graduating Marshall County high school senior(s) living in Marshall County, Indiana. 

These scholarships will be applied toward expenses at any accredited college, university, trade, or technical school during the coming year.

Tony Ross Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are residents or are attending schools in either Marshall County, Indiana or Starke County, Indiana who are pursuing a career in broadcasting.

This scholarship may be renewable to previous recipients.

Marohn Family Fund

The purpose of the fund is to provide annual scholarships to students from schools (Plymouth High School, Triton High School, Culver High School, Bremen High School and Argos High School) within Marshall County Indiana.  

The scholarships will be used to help fulfill educational needs in the vocational trade, and technical career areas.

John Ruff Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to students (children or grandchildren) whose families are currently policyholders with the Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. of St. Joseph and Marshall Counties. 

The scholarships will be used to fulfill educational needs to post secondary education to include four year institutions, two year institutions, and vocational trade and technical career areas.

The John Ruff Scholarship Fund is not renewable annually to previous recipients.

Ounce of Prevention Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of an accredited high school located in Marshall County, Indiana.  

Recipients must be a survivor of cancer, have an immediate family member or friend who experienced cancer, or have demonstrated active participation in community service related to the prevention or cure of cancer.

Marshall County Farm Bureau Agriculture Scholarship

The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to any graduating senior or any non-high school senior residing in Marshall County, Indiana entering at least a full-time freshman year of undergraduate studies in an agricultural program or in agricultural classes.

The scholarship recipient must submit proof to the Community Foundation of successful completion of the first semester/trimester in order to receive the scholarship.

This scholarship may be renewable to previous recipients.

Mark McNett Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship is a tribute to longtime JWCC Admission Director Mark McNett. For 22 years, Mark was dedicated to helping area students reach their education goals. When he died unexpectedly in 2007, Mark's children along with JWCC faculty, staff and students, and his many friends, initiated this award. 

Amount: $500

The Allison E. Bennett Memorial Scholarship, established by the Bennett family and the JWCC community, honors a vibrant student who tragically passed away before completing her degree. This scholarship supports deserving sophomore senators in the Student Government Association, political science majors, and those involved in women's sports, ensuring that Allison's legacy continues to inspire future leaders at John Wood Community College.

The JWCC Foundation offers the American Association of University Women Scholarship aimed at supporting women pursuing a bachelor's degree. One scholarship is designated for a returning woman, while another is for those aiming to further their education. The amount varies based on funding. Priority is given to women interested in nontraditional fields of study, encouraging diverse educational pursuits and empowerment for future leaders.

The Daniel E. Fischer Memorial Scholarship, established by the family and friends of Dan Fischer, aims to support students at JWCC who demonstrate hard work and motivation, regardless of their academic performance. With a grant amount of $500, this scholarship honors Dan's legacy as an 18-year employee of the college. The JWCC Foundation, created in 1984, provides vital support to students, enabling them to pursue their educational goals and become future leaders.

The Cowman Family International Scholarship, offered by the John Wood Community College Foundation, supports international male and female soccer players entering their second year. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. This scholarship aims to empower students to succeed academically while participating in athletics, fostering leadership and personal development. The scholarship amount varies, making it accessible for deserving candidates seeking to further their education and sports careers.

The Grace Brorstrom Oakley Scholarship, established by Dr. Burks Oakley II in honor of his mother, supports single mothers pursuing a degree at John Wood Community College (JWCC). With a value of $1,000, this scholarship reflects the commitment of the JWCC Foundation to empower women and children in need, continuing their mission since 1984 to enhance educational opportunities and foster future leaders.

The JWCC Foundation Achievement Scholarship supports students enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of 100-level courses and requires a minimum GPA of 2.75. Established in 1984, the JWCC Foundation aims to enhance the College’s mission by providing investment opportunities for alumni and friends, helping students become future leaders. The scholarship amount varies, offering essential financial support to eligible students pursuing their educational goals.

The JWCC/Frederick Ball Scholarship offers $500 to a graduating minority high school senior demonstrating academic excellence, leadership skills, and financial need. Established by the JWCC Foundation in 1984, this scholarship supports the College's mission to foster future leaders. The Foundation encourages contributions from alumni and friends to invest in students' educational journeys, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed in their academic pursuits.

The Mark Lloyd Goehl Memorial Scholarship, established by friends and family in 2010, honors Mark Goehl, who tragically passed away at 17. This scholarship supports students with average academic abilities who demonstrate a strong work ethic, motivation to succeed, and financial need. Administered by the JWCC Foundation, it promotes educational opportunities and helps shape the leaders of tomorrow.

The Leffman Healthcare Scholarship, established in 2004 by Dr. Peter and Mrs. Mary Leffman, is designed to support students in financial need pursuing degrees in healthcare. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. This scholarship is administered by the JWCC Foundation, which has been advancing educational opportunities since 1984, enabling students to prepare for future leadership roles in their fields.

The Brorstrom Scholarship for Nursing, offered by the JWCC Foundation, supports two female students in the LPN Program. Selection criteria include a narrative statement detailing personal and professional nursing goals, financial need based on income and aid, and academic performance. The Eldon D. Anna Belle Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be an undergraduate, graduate student or community member currently pursuing pottery. Three pictures of artwork must be included with application for consideration. This is a one-year scholarship reserved for Cherokee Nation citizens.

Bill Rabbit Legacy Art Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited, four-year, higher education institution pursuing a degree in fine arts or art education with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Accepted focuses include drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, traditional beadwork and textiles. Three pictures of artwork must be included with application for consideration. This is a one-year scholarship reserved for Cherokee Nation and United Keetoowah Band citizens residing within the Cherokee Nation jurisdictional area.

MATRA Scholarship

Awards:

One time award of $7,500. Students may reapply for this scholarship for continued support based on their GPA for up to three years.

The Champion At Large Scholarship, offered by the Cherokee Nation Foundation, supports Cherokee Nation citizens who are full-time students or graduating high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. This one-year scholarship is specifically for those residing outside the Cherokee Nation jurisdiction and accepted into a two-year or four-year higher education institution. It aims to alleviate student debt and enhance educational opportunities for Cherokee students.

Margaret A. Stafford Nursing Scholarship

Award:

• One time award of $2,000. 

Ken Cicerale Memorial Music Scholarship

Award:

• One time award of $1,000. 

Keisha M. Michael Memorial Scholarship

Essay: Topic:

• “How a college education will help me make an impact on the community and affect my life.”

Award:

• One time award of $1,500. Awardees can re-apply.
