Illinois Adult Education and Literacy Professional Development Network

FY27 Illinois Adult Education and Literacy Professional Development Network(Competitive) ICCB will provide $300,000 in grant funding opportunities to be administered to support the Professional Development Network and the Adult Education Hotline.

The grant objectives are as follows:

• Support for Workforce-Aligned English Language Acquisition Instruction, including Evidence-Based Reading Instruction, Assessment, and Instructionally Embedded Technology Integration, delivered through In Person, On Site, and Virtual Support.
• Promote and maintain the Illinois Adult Education Hotline.

The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation offers Civil Legal Aid Grants totaling approximately $4.8 million. These grants aim to support programs that provide essential legal services to low-income individuals, such as access to basic needs, protection for domestic violence victims, and assistance for seniors facing fraud. Eligible organizations must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) and serve Illinois residents, ensuring services are free or on a sliding scale based on income.

IDNR Historic Sites Field Trip Grant

Grants are only available to teachers of grades prekindergarten through 12 in Illinois schools and are awarded for students to study some aspect of Illinois’ history. 

Funds are awarded on a reimbursement basis to the school. Reimbursement will only occur for transportation costs approved by the judging committee. No reimbursement is made to individuals.

Grants are not transferrable. They may not be transferred to another person, school or grade.

The Illinois "Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development" (OSLAD) is offered annually through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The OSLAD program is a grant program that provides up to 50% (90% for distressed communities) funding assistance to eligible, local units of government to acquire and/or develop public outdoor recreation areas.

CSA Midwest Region: Beth Dunlap Award

 The Midwestern Region presents The Beth Dunlap Award at the Regional Symposium. The award will be offered to a person who has made contributions worthy of the highest commendation and the achievements will have continued importance. Beth Dunlap was one of the founding members of the Midwestern Region. A fashion illustrator and artist, she passed away in 2009.

The Blue Impact Grant by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois supports community-based non-profit organizations focused on improving health equity in Illinois. The Adult Protective Services Technology Modernization Grant provides funding to assist Illinois service providers in upgrading their technology to improve efficiency in serving older adults. Eligible applicants include various government and nonprofit organizations that have previously submitted a letter of intent. The grant supports reimbursement for qualifying technology purchases, excluding large items over $5,000, ensuring agencies can enhance their service delivery capabilities effectively.

Eligible candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to continue their studies into the 2026-2027 academic year. This scholarship supports students with various disabilities, ensuring that education is accessible and equitable for all.

The Ralph J. Torraco Scholarship for Therapy Sciences, provided by the UNICO Foundation, awards two scholarships valued at $2,500 each to full-time students pursuing degrees in Therapy Sciences, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiology, and speech-language pathology. Eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and continue their studies in the 2026-2027 academic year. This scholarship promotes educational advancement within the community.

The Taking Back the Trades! Trades School Grant Program, funded by the Illinois Community College Board, aims to enhance career pathways in the trades for underserved youth in Illinois. With $5 million allocated, this initiative addresses high youth unemployment and low graduation rates by providing access to essential vocational training. This program not only strengthens the workforce but also revitalizes the state's trades, ensuring a robust infrastructure for the future.

The Student Scholarship in Cardiovascular Surgery offers $2,000 to students conducting research in cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, or cardiovascular anesthesia. Recipients may also receive a $750 travel grant for attending the AHA's Scientific Sessions in November 2025. This program is designed for medical students and master's program participants in accredited institutions in the U.S. who are AHA members and engaged in cardiovascular research.

The TANF Employment & Training Program - Support Services Program aims to provide essential transportation services for low-income individuals in Illinois, facilitating their access to jobs at large employers. Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation

The Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation (ILCHF) has a single vision that: every child in Illinois grows up healthy. Working with grantee partners across the state, ILCHF focuses its grant making on identifying and funding solutions to address the barriers that prevent children from accessing the ongoing healthcare they need, with a primary focus on children’s oral health and mental health.

ILCHF was created in December 2002 through an action of then-Attorney General Jim Ryan and an Illinois insurance carrier. This action and a settlement of approximately $125 million established Illinois’ only statewide private foundation focused solely on the health needs of children. Since inception, ILCHF has awarded approximately $149 million in nearly 900 grants to more than 300 organizations across the state.

“Bright Minds, Bright Smiles”: Mental and Oral Health Integration Initiative

The Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation (ILCHF) seeks to provide 20 three-year grants of up to $300,000 each (for a total investment of $6,000,000) to eligible children’s safety-net organizations that are sustaining and enhancing the coordination of existing children’s mental health or oral health services for Illinois children from vulnerable communities.

Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to, sustaining direct service provision to children, strengthening care coordination, enhancing referral networks, expanding co-located services in community settings, and building capacity to better serve children enrolled in Medicaid.

ILCHF is proud to support organizations working to strengthen the children’s healthcare safety net across Illinois and ensure that every child in Illinois grows up healthy.

The Harvey and Ethel Daeumer Foundation Grant, established in 2001 in memory of Harvey's late wife Ethel, aims to support local charitable initiatives focused on children's education, health, and welfare. Nonprofit organizations recognized under IRS 501(c)(3) can apply for funding, which must be fully utilized for approved programs. Any unspent funds must be returned or approved for retention by the Foundation. This grant continues the legacy of generosity left by Harvey and Ethel, benefiting the community.

The Ralph J. Torraco Scholarship for Seminarian Studies, funded by UNICO Foundation Inc, offers four scholarships worth $1,000 each to full-time seminarians attending accredited Catholic seminaries in the U.S. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and either reside in specific states or have a UNICO sponsor. This scholarship supports the educational journey of seminarians, reflecting UNICO's commitment to serving the community and promoting Italian American heritage.

The Retirement Research Foundation offers Organizational Capacity Building Grants to Illinois nonprofits focused on enhancing their management and governance systems. These grants support activities such as strategic planning, financial management, program evaluation, and human resources development. Eligible organizations must be tax-exempt, operational for at least three years, and prioritize services for the elderly. This funding aims to strengthen nonprofits' capacity to serve older adults effectively.

The Special Programs for the Aging: Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Services in Illinois aim to enhance preventive health services through collaboration with designated Agencies on Aging. This initiative is designed to support government and nonprofit organizations, focusing on improving health outcomes for older adults in the state. Eligible agencies can apply to strengthen their health promotion systems and better serve the aging population.

The Ralph J. Torraco Scholarship for Computer Science Studies, awarded by the UNICO Foundation, offers four scholarships of $1,000 each to full-time students pursuing a degree in Computer Science at accredited U.S. colleges. Eligible applicants must reside in specific states or have a UNICO sponsor, be U.S. citizens aged 18 or older, and continue their studies in the 2026-2027 academic year. Preference is given to those demonstrating financial need.
