The Japan Foundation's Institutional Project Support - Small Grant Program provides up to $25,000 for U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations to enhance Japanese Studies infrastructure. This scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from Lackawanna County high schools who plan to continue their education in a college or university program. This $6,000 scholarship, renewable for up to three years (for a total of $24,000), is offered each year for full-time study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university of the student’s choice. 20 students will be selected annually for this award.

The James F. Swift Scholarship Fund has awarded over $5.5 million since 2008, benefitting 360 local students.

Created in 2002 through a gift by Mr. James F. Swift to the Scranton Area Community Foundation, the James F. Swift Scholarship Fund provides support for higher education for students graduating from high schools in Lackawanna County. Following Mr. Swift’s death in 2006, the Scranton Area Community Foundation gratefully received a significant gift from his estate to the scholarship fund, which has allowed a great number of students from Lackawanna County the opportunity to pursue their academic and professional goals through higher education.

The George C. Decas Scholarship, managed by the SouthCoast Community Foundation, offers financial support to graduating high school seniors from Wareham, Massachusetts. Established to assist local students, the scholarship awards recipients over four years contingent upon their academic progress. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities and foster community development, reflecting the Foundation's commitment to philanthropy and regional improvement since 1995.

The George Earl and Katherine Hartley Church Scholarship, managed by the SouthCoast Community Foundation, offers annual scholarships to graduating seniors from Acushnet, Rochester, Marion, and Mattapoisett, MA, as well as students from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. This scholarship is aimed at those pursuing nursing degrees (LPN, RN, or BSN) at accredited two- or four-year colleges. It aims to support local students in achieving their educational goals.

Mason-Oceana-Manistee Board of Realtors Scholarship

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of the Mason-Oceana-Manistee Board of Realtors members, who established the Mason-Oceana-Manistee Board of Realtors Scholarship Fund of the Community Foundation for Mason County.

The Mason-Oceana-Manistee Board of Realtors created this Scholarship Fund to benefit graduating seniors from any Mason, Oceana, or Manistee County High. This fund supports a student from each county every year.

The Georgia and Constantine Decas Family Scholarship, established by the SouthCoast Community Foundation, aims to support graduating high school seniors from Wareham, Massachusetts. This scholarship is awarded annually and provides funding for up to four years of education, contingent on the recipient's academic progress. The Samuel and Solomon Rusitzky Entrepreneurial Education Scholarship Fund, established by the SouthCoast Community Foundation, offers annual college scholarships to adult workers in the New Bedford area. These scholarships aim to assist individuals seeking to enhance their professional qualifications through higher education at accredited institutions. Since its inception, the Foundation has mobilized significant philanthropic resources to support community needs and improve the quality of life in the region.

The John R. Kiley Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Quad Cities Community Foundation, provides need-based financial assistance of up to $1,500 for students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.25 and be enrolled or planning to enroll in college. Iowa residents can attend any institution, while Illinois residents may attend colleges in Iowa only. This scholarship emphasizes financial need, leadership, and academic merit.

This scholarship is to provide financial assistance for students who have demonstrated a passionate desire for advanced education in art or writing. Applicant must be a graduate of a Henderson County high school with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

This is a renewable scholarship.

Sam A. Mills Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of a Henderson County public high school who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in an accredited school on a full-time basis. The applicant must demonstrate financial need and show scholastic achievement and good citizenship.

• 4-year award of $5,000 per year. Students may be eligible to renew their scholarship for up to three additional years, provided they continue in the same degree program. 

The AK Chen Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, provides financial assistance to students pursuing higher education in Hawaii. Eligible applicants must be residents of Hawaii, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Preference is given to students from specific high schools and those majoring in STEM or education fields.
