Through the use of evidence-based decision-making, ICJI works to improve the efficiency of the criminal justice system, from calls for service through post-conviction. The agency evaluates policies, programs, and legislation designed to address these issues. ICJI is designated as the State Administering Agency for distribution of federal funds, and as the State Statistical Analysis Center for research.

Sexual Assault Victim Assistance Fund Grant

Funded by the Indiana General Assembly, the Sexual Assault Victim Assistance Fund (SAVAF) program aims to provide a comprehensive statewide response for victims of sexual assault.

The Sexual Assault Victim Assistance Fund (SAVAF) was created to:

• Establish and maintain Rape Crisis Centers (RCC);
• Enhance services provided by existing Rape Crisis Centers; and
• Develop, implement, and expand trauma-informed sexual assault services.

SAVAF is a reimbursement-based grant.

In 2025, the Community Foundation of Madison & Jefferson County awarded over $233,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors of the county’s public and private high schools. Nearly 50 different students earned money toward their college costs. Scholarships are available for a variety of applicants. Some are specific to schools, majors, need, or interests.

CFMJC scholarships may be used for tuition and related expenses like fees and required equipment at accredited colleges and universities. Room and board are not covered.

The California Casualty Music & Arts Grant supports K-12 public schools facing budget cuts that threaten their music and arts programs. Eligible applicants, who must be active employees of public K-12 schools and members of specified educator associations, can request grants of $250 for music or arts needs. This initiative aims to enhance creative education across the states, excluding AK, HI, MA, MI, NY, and WI. Applications received by July 15 will be notified by November 30.

Marshall County Community Foundation: Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

This program is designed to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana, increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities and encourage efforts of Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with state leaders to improve quality of life in Indiana. 

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is administered by the Independent Colleges of Indiana and includes significant participation by the community foundations serving each of Indiana’s 92 counties.

Key Elements of the Program:

• Full-tuition, required fees and book stipend for four years. (Does not pay room, board or travel expenses.)
• Recipients may attend any public or private, Indiana four-year college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
• Applicants must have a high school diploma from an Indiana high school accredited by the State Board of Education or by a national or regional accreditation agency that is recognized by the State Board of Education.
• Applicants must be residents of the state of Indiana.
• Recipients must pursue undergraduate study in a baccalaureate program on a full-time basis.

Community Foundation Serving Howard, Carroll & Clinton Counties: Lilly Endowment Scholarship

The primary purposes of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program are

• to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana; 
• to increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities; and 
• to encourage and support the efforts of current and past Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with Indiana business, governmental, educational, nonprofit and civic leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana generally and in local communities throughout the state.

The program will provide scholarships for otherwise unreimbursed full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

To pursue four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at an Indiana college. Keep the Community Foundation apprised of their academic status during college and post-graduation status (education and/or employment) for at least 10 years after graduation.

The CHS Foundation's Cooperative Education Grant aims to support educational projects that enhance understanding of the agricultural cooperative business model. About Us

Indiana State Parks traces its history back to 1916. How much grant funding is available to applicants?

• The Indiana Trails Program will provide a maximum of 80% reimbursement for eligible projects, up to the maximum grant award amount. The applicant must have at least 20% of the total project cost available at the point of application.

Franco Family Institute for Liberal Arts and the Public Good

To accomplish this goal, the institute provides faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students in the College with three main types of support.

Research Innovation Collaboratives

Purpose

The Franco Institute invites proposals for Research Innovation Collaboratives to begin work during the 2026-2027 academic year.

These collaboratives encourage research and creative practice outside of departmental and institutional confines so that participants can radically reimagine the way their work can inform, influence, and inspire innovative scholarship. Each collaborative will consist of a group of scholars pursuing a core question (or small set of closely related questions). Collaboratives will foster research, art, teaching, and outreach, deepening connections across disciplines, and bringing the insights of the liberal arts to public life.

Research Innovation Collaboratives will take four forms:

• Humanities Collaboratives, devoted to “big questions” in the humanities approached from transdisciplinary perspectives
• Arts Collaboratives, co-sponsored by the ND Arts Initiative and devoted to collaborative research and creative practice in the arts
• Global Catholic Research Collaboratives, co-sponsored by the ND Global Catholic Research Initiative and devoted to interdisciplinary, collaborative research on global Catholicism
• Sustainability Collaboratives, co-sponsored by the ND Just Transformations to Sustainability Initiative and devoted to interdisciplinary, collaborative research at the nexus of sustainability and the humanities.

Grants are available to organizations throughout the United States, with a specific emphasis on programs based in Oregon. Interested parties must first submit a Letter of Inquiry to be considered for funding. This initiative aims to improve the quality of life for underserved communities through cultural and educational enrichment.

The Team Indiana Grant Program supports tourism and sports-related organizations hosting events in Indiana. Grants of up to $20,000 are available to assist communities in attracting high-quality sports events, aiming to boost local economies through participant spending. Applications are accepted year-round, but must be submitted at least two months before the event. The program is funded by the Indiana Destination Development Corporation and administered by Indiana Sports Corp, with awards determined by a statewide committee.

The E.B. Henderson Award, presented by SHAPE America, honors minority members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to scholarship, mentorship, and advocacy for ethnic minorities within health and physical education. Established in 1885, SHAPE America serves over 200,000 professionals, promoting high-quality education standards. This initiative supports students from families without a four-year college background.

The Guy David Gundlach Memorial Scholarship offers a $20,000 tuition award over four years for Elkhart County residents graduating from local accredited high schools. This scholarship supports students planning to enroll in four-year degree programs at Indiana colleges or universities, particularly those from households where parents haven't completed a four-year degree. It honors David Gundlach's commitment to education as a path to a meaningful life.

The Gloor-Hirschy Scholarship, established by the Parkview Health Foundation in 1988, honors Betty Hirschy, a dedicated nurse and Parkview School of Nursing alumna. This scholarship provides a one-time award of $1,500 to two current Parkview Health employees enrolled in accredited nursing programs. The Parkview School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, established by alumni of the Parkview School of Nursing, aims to support and encourage nursing students. Funded by the Parkview Health Foundation, which has been instrumental in enhancing healthcare in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio since 1878, this scholarship plays a vital role in fostering the next generation of nursing professionals. Eligible applicants must be current Parkview Health employees enrolled in accredited BSN or MSN programs.
