Tri-Alliance Grant Honoring ASHT Founders
Purpose
To fund impactful research in all levels of experimental quantitative research, including systematic reviews, as well as qualitative research. The AHTF has the responsibility of verifying the appropriateness of the proposed research.
Types of Studies
Grant proposals are accepted for research within any domain of hand therapy. Randomized or experimental study designs, including quantitative, mixed methods, or qualitative designs that aim to advance the clinical practice of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Ideally, applications should target categories of research identified as part of the current AHTF research priorities.

Burkhalter New Investigator Grant for Clinical Research in Hand & Upper Limb Rehabilitation
Purpose
In 1993, the AHTF established a grant in honor of Dr. William Burkhalter (1928-1992), a long-time advocate and promoter of hand therapy. The purpose of the award is to support scientific clinical research in the field of hand and upper limb rehabilitation.
Types of Studies
Experimental, non-experimental, pilot studies, quasi-experimental, measurement, or qualitative studies designed to advance the clinical practice of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation in categories identified by the AHTF research priorities will be considered.

Judy Bell-Krotoski "Grab the Evidence" Grant
Purpose
In 2003, AHTF awarded the first “Grab the Future” Grant. This name was changed in 2005, in response to the growing need to fund basic research science and evidence-based studies in hand and upper limb rehabilitation.
The purpose of the award as designed is to serve as a catalyst for a skilled researcher and/or research team to develop their role as principal investigators and to provide seed money for procurement of larger external funding.
Types of Studies
Experimental studies, pilot studies, or systematic reviews/meta-analyses which support the evidence of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation in the diagnostic categories identified by the AHTF research priorities or by the specific donor’s research priorities will be considered.

Lockheed Martin supports PLTW programs in school districts across the nation and has contributed to the development of PLTW's middle school and high school courses focused on aerospace engineering and flight. Since the first school district partnership in 2014, over 855 PLTW programs have been implemented and more than 145,328 students have gained access to PLTW.Program Requirements:Grantee must use their grant funds to expand their existing PLTW Engineering program. Example expansion activities include but are not limited to adding an additional PLTW Engineering course not previously offered, and/or adding additional class periods of an existing PLTW Engineering courses previously offered, and/or training additional teachers in PLTW Engineering courses for the 2027-2028 academic year. The mission of Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) is to preserve and restore vision by supporting research to develop treatments, preventives and cures for all conditions that damage and destroy sight. As a result, RPB has been identified with nearly every major breakthrough in vision research in that time.
The Glaucoma Foundation (TGF) and Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) partner annually to provide a grant aimed at supporting women and under-represented racial and ethnic minority researchers in the pursuit of glaucoma research.
The TGF (sponsored by Patricia Hill) / RPB Fellowships in Glaucoma provide one-year $10,000 fellowships focused on substantive glaucoma research, including investigation into the etiology, diagnosis and/or treatment of glaucoma, to current ophthalmology fellows with an MD, MD/PhD, PhD or other relevant degree.

Exfoliation Syndrome and Exfoliation Glaucoma, Pressure Independent Mechanisms of Glaucoma, Neuroprotection, and the Genetics of Glaucomas that affect people under the age of 40
The Glaucoma Foundation offers grants to researchers striving to improve the lives of glaucoma patients through novel innovations and scientific advances. The areas of current focus for TGF’s Grant Research program are Exfoliation Syndrome and Exfoliation Glaucoma, Pressure Independent Mechanisms of Glaucoma, Neuroprotection, and Genetics of Glaucomas that affect people under the age of 40 years. Examples of research that may be considered range from basic science to clinical interventions, such as genetics and genomic medicine, disease modeling, assessment of ocular perfusion, artificial intelligence, and clinical research. A priority will be given to novel proposals with a viable study hypothesis leading to impactful results that are fundable at the NIH level. Initial grant funding for one year is for up to $75,000; a grantee is permitted to apply for a grant renewal of up to $75,000. A renewal grant is a one-year grant based on research findings from the initial research.

Tom Cade Conservation Award
The Award:
The Tom Cade Conservation Award is the Raptor Research Foundation’s premiere conservation award. This non-monetary award recognizes an individual who has made significant advances in or exceptional contributions to the conservation of raptors. The award’s scope includes all aspects of conservation science and practice pertaining to raptors, including: implementing population restoration programs; advances in captive propagation and reintroduction techniques; identifying conservation biology problems and solutions; raptor biodiversity studies; and studies of rare, threatened, and endangered species. Nominations will open in the spring. Recipients will be announced at the annual meeting.

Tom Cade was an icon and hero to us all. His passion for falcons knew no bounds. One of the founders of the Raptor Research Foundation, he was the driving force behind the reintroduction of the Peregrine Falcon east of the Mississippi and across much of its North American range. The Peregrine Fund, which he created with the recovery of a single endangered species—the Peregrine Falcon—as its goal, has grown into a conservation organization with a worldwide reach and global impact.

Feral Hog Trapping
Feral swine eradication is a component of an area-wide effort of assessment, control and monitoring to document and reduce resource damage caused by feral swine. Damages include impacts to native wildlife, soil health, destruction of natural areas, water bodies and wetlands, vegetative diversity, and pasture and rangeland.
Landowner payments are capped at $20,000, with a reimbursement rate set at 75% of the actual cost for eligible traps and control systems. Landowners will receive two payments: the first 45%, as demonstrated by actual receipts or paid invoices, and the second payment to cover the additional 30% after the first successfully documented trap event of feral hogs using the AGFC monitoring app on any of the properties included within the application.
Transportation-Related Research & Workforce Development Grant Program (TRWD)
Arkansas Act 705 of 2017 and Act 884 of 2021 authorized the Transportation-Related Research and Workforce Development Grant Program (TRWD). Per legislation, $500,000 is available per year. The purpose of this program is to provide funding for projects that conduct transportation-related research or workforce development. Transportation-related research is defined as the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions to provide resilient and sustainable logistics, processes, materials, and methods to ensure cost-effectiveness and the furtherance of education and economic development concerning all forms of transportation, including without limitation rail, public transportation, aviation, and waterborne transportation. Workforce development is defined as industry training, apprenticeship, and educational programs that foster skills required for transportation-related personnel development. Project sponsors apply for TRWD funds through a competitive process, with the applications being reviewed and scored by the TRWD Committee.

Sally A. Williams Artist Fund
The Sally A. Williams Artist Fund was established in 2010 after the passing of Sally Williams, an artist who served as the artist services manager at the Arkansas Arts Council for more than 25 years.
The Fund supports Arkansas creatives by providing assistant grants for professional development and costs associated with advancing artistic careers. The fund is a reimbursement grant that funds half of costs, up to $500, once per fiscal year. The minimum request is $100 per application.
Acceptable applications include professional development, such as watercolor technique, marketing skills, writer conferences, arts conferences, artist residencies, etc. Costs associated with the professional development opportunities, including gas/car mileage and food, can be included. Funds may be used to cover submission fees, such as for large exhibitions and magazines, or to pay shipping costs for exhibition purposes.
For 15 years, the Sally A. Williams Artist Fund has helped creatives statewide advance their skills and artistic careers. More than 150 artists have received the award and increased their networks, education, careers and travel ability.
