Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded college scholarships to area students totaling more than $13.7 million, thanks to our generous donors. Each year, over 500 college-bound or career and technical education students benefit from our scholarship awards.

Nexteer Scholarship

The Nexteer Scholarship Fund mission is to help high school graduates in financial need through a scholarship program for residents of Saginaw, Midland and Bay Counties who are pursuing a career in engineering or general business. The goal is to help deserving individuals within our community achieve their career goals – an objective which has the added benefit of improving the community-at-large. 

Nexteer draws upon a 100 year heritage of vehicle integration expertise and product workmanship. The company has a strong foundation and a reputation for providing dependable steering solutions and enduring customer relationships.

The HHIBAC Scholarship Program, established by the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, awards scholarships to graduating high school female seniors of African American descent from Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, May River, or Hardeeville schools. Eligible applicants must pursue a degree at a four-year accredited institution, maintaining a 2.75 GPA, and submit a transcript, letters of recommendation, and a typed essay to qualify for this opportunity.

The Schlumberger Foundation's Faculty for the Future Grant Program aims to empower women from developing countries to pursue advanced STEM research abroad. By providing fellowships of up to $50,000 for PhD candidates and $40,000 for postdoctoral researchers, the program supports women's education and encourages their return to home countries to advance local STEM fields. Since 2004, it has awarded 863 fellowships, fostering gender equality in STEM and enhancing community development through increased female participation in scientific careers.

The Combined Pilot Research Grants by the AAPPS and PSF aim to promote innovative research in pediatric plastic surgery and hand surgery. With funding up to $15,000 for one-year pilot projects, these grants support the development of surgeon scientists and encourage applications that will enhance the scientific understanding and improve care for children with deformities requiring reconstructive surgery. The Dr. John P. Sheehan Scholarship, awarded by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, provides financial support to graduates from Utica's public and parochial schools for pursuing higher education or vocational training. This initiative aims to empower local students by facilitating access to educational opportunities, thereby enhancing their lives and contributing to community growth. Eligible candidates must be attending a college in the U.S. and be students from specific schools in Utica.

The Margaret Mary Curtin Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, provides $500 to support female students from Southeastern CT pursuing degrees in government or politics. Since 1983, the Foundation has awarded over $11.9 million in scholarships to help students achieve their educational and career goals. Awards are paid directly to colleges by August 1, ensuring timely funding for recipients.

The St. Andrew's Society Scholarship is designed for graduating seniors from Oregon or Clark County, WA, who plan to pursue higher education in the United States. Eligible applicants must be born in Scotland, have a parent or grandparent who was born in Scotland, or demonstrate a commitment to Scottish cultural activities such as dancing or music. This scholarship supports students in their academic journey while celebrating their Scottish heritage.

The Bonham, Vivian M. Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior girl from Beatrice High School pursuing a business career. Established to support students in need, the scholarship is awarded based on interest in business, financial need, and a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipients must submit a faculty recommendation from a business teacher and a Student Aid Report from FAFSA. This scholarship aims to empower future female leaders in business.

The Don Linn Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides $700 to a graduating senior from Beatrice High School. Candidates are selected based on academic merit and financial need, with preference given to those who may struggle to pursue higher education. Applicants must submit their FAFSA Student Aid Report to qualify.

The Dean Madison Basketball Scholarship, established by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, awards a $500 scholarship to a senior basketball player from Beatrice High School who plans to pursue higher education. Grattan and Stephen T. Gray Scholarship

Awarded to Monroe County high school graduates entering the field of journalism.

The Martin, Lucas Scholarship, provided by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, offers a $1,000 award to a graduating senior male from Beatrice High School. Eligible students must have participated in soccer during their junior and senior years and demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork. One reference letter must come from the head boys soccer coach, and financial need will be considered. The Foundation aims to support students seeking higher education.

The Masonic Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides a $500 award to graduating seniors of Beatrice High School. This scholarship recognizes good citizenship and moral character without requiring academic standing or financial need. It can be used at any accredited institution of higher learning, with a preference given to children of Masons or members of Jobs Daughters and Demoley. This initiative supports students aiming to further their education.

The Mcnenny, George W. Scholarship offers a $500 award to graduating seniors from Beatrice High School pursuing careers in art or architecture.
