Both endowed (long-term, invested funds) and non-endowed (short-term, “pass-though”) funds are developed to provide financial support to 501(c)(3) and other qualifying non-profit organizations and for charitable purposes to benefit area residents.

When you partner with the SCCF for your philanthropic endeavors, your fund(s) will be commingled with other funds and managed professionally by the GNWKCF. Your fund assets will grow over time and have a lasting impact for years to come!

Our Available Grant Funds

To support a wide range of community needs, the Sheridan County Community Foundation utilizes multiple funding “buckets,” including unrestricted community funds, designated funds, field-of-interest funds, and other available grantmaking resources. This flexible structure allows us to match projects with the most appropriate sources of support and maximize the overall impact of each grant awarded. In some cases, the Foundation may also recommend additional or complementary funding from individual fund holders — particularly Donor Advised Funds — as we collaborate with donors to develop new funding streams and expand opportunities to meet evolving community priorities.

With a mission to advance economic mobility, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation honors innovative leaders whose work strengthens regional well-being, growth, and empowerment; tech-focused nonprofits may be eligible.

Rural public entities, nonprofits, tribes, cooperatives, and educational institutions in Kansas can seek funding to support small and emerging rural businesses through training, technical assistance, and technology-based economic development projects. USDA Rural Development’s Rural Business Development Grants offer US $10,000 - US $500,000 for activities like business planning, distance learning for job training, and rural business incubators.

Centralized Credentialing Verification Pilot Project Request for Proposals

HEALTHWORKS, KHA Foundation Inc. (Healthworks) an established 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is seeking proposals to develop a statewide Centralized Credentialing Verification Pilot Program (CCV) operating under a hosted model. The CCV will centralize credentialing intake and verification of healthcare providers while preserving payer credentialing authority and hospital privileging decisions. 

The CCV Pilot Project is intended to improve access to care, reduce administrative burden, accelerate provider onboarding, and create a sustainable statewide framework for centralized credentialing and primary source verification services for healthcare practitioners practicing in Kansas.

Objectives:

• Establish the governance, operational framework, and stakeholder engagement necessary to support a statewide centralized credentialing model.
• Conduct a Request for Proposal and identify and procure a Primary Source Verification (PSV) vendor and supporting technology infrastructure.
• Design and implement standardized credentialing workflows and policies.

Eligible nonprofits must operate in Johnson or Wyandotte Counties in Kansas or nearby Missouri counties.
