Kansas Federation of Republican Women Scholarship

For any Kansas registered Republican female college student entering at least her junior year, or who is attending graduate school at a Kansas college or university with a declared major of Political Science, History, Public Administration, Healthcare, Law, or Education

Background

The Kansas Federation of Republican Women is the statewide arm of the National Federation of Republican Women and the local clubs in Kansas. Kansas clubs help with registering people to vote, working at polling places, driving citizens to the polls and numerous community service projects, including many literacy projects. In 2005 a Scholarship Fund was established so that the membership could assist a young woman from Kansas to continue her education at a Kansas college or university, per the requirements in the scholarship form.

Larry and Millie Triplett Scholarship Fund

For graduates or students in good standing, qualifying for graduation from a Kansas high school in the following Triplett, Inc., service areas: Dickinson County, Ellis County, McPherson County, Russell County, Saline County, Sherman County, Thomas County, Trego County, and Wabaunsee County.

Renewals

Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply as part of the total applicant pool as long as they maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

• Preference will be given to previous scholarship recipients.
• Recipients may receive this scholarship for a maximum of 8 semesters total.

Elizabeth Miller Watkins Memorial Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the Elizabeth Miller Watkins Scholarship is to assist women students of outstanding scholastic achievement and demonstrated financial need in completing their college education at KU.

Amount: Awards of up to $2,000 per semester will be made to each recipient

Recipients who meet ongoing eligibility requirements may apply for renewal annually.

AABE William Grant Pinkard Scholarship Fund

The American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) is a professional organization of African Americans in the energy industry. Through its Scholarship Program, AABE seeks to help increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans (underrepresented minorities) in energy related fields. By doing so, we help our nation address a critical need and a challenge to our future economic vitality in the world market.

About William Grant Pinkard II

The William Grant Pinkard Scholarship Fund was named after a member of the Kansas-Missouri Chapter of the AABE who best exemplified the organization’s purpose and goals. William Grant Pinkard, II was a dedicated and active member.

Awards

The Kansas-Missouri Chapter of AABE will award one scholarship of $2,000 per semester paid in August and January. Awards of $1,500 per semester will be issued to community college students. The top winner’s application is forwarded to compete for one of six National AABE Regional Awards of $3,000 per year. Additionally, a “Rufus D. Gladney” Premier Award of $5,000 is given annually to the candidate who is judged to demonstrate the most outstanding achievement and promise. National Awards are made to the students upon presentation of proof of enrollment at an accredited college or university. Distribution of local chapter awards are made at the discretion of the local chapter upon proof of enrollment at an accredited college or university. A William Grant Pinkard Scholar may renew the scholarship for a second year provided documentation that all scholarship guidelines and criteria have been sustained.

Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship

The Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship was established to provide assistance to students who have completed two years at a Kansas community college and are furthering their education at a four-year secondary institution in Kansas.

Applicants must submit an essay outlining what they want to accomplish with their education and how they hope to make Kansas a better place through their accomplishments.

• Scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply as part of the total applicant pool, provided they have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.

Genevieve Edmee Lenz Guldner Kansas University Fine Arts Scholarship

The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships to students attending the Kansas University Fine Arts School.

Renewable for 4 years if all requirements are met.

The Water & Waste Disposal Loan & Grant Program in Kansas offers essential funding to enhance drinking water systems, sewage disposal, solid waste management, and stormwater drainage in rural communities. This program is designed for entities unable to procure commercial credit, including state and local governments, private nonprofits, and federally recognized tribes. Eligible areas are primarily rural with populations under 10,000, ensuring that vital infrastructure improvements support public health and environmental sustainability.

ACCEL-KS SBIR/STTR Matching Program

This program provides early-stage funding and technical support to help Kansas-based businesses, innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers compete for and leverage federal SBIR/STTR awards.

Funding is available through two tracks: Phase 0 and Phase I

The goal is to increase the number, quality and success rate of SBIR/STTR proposals from Kansas, accelerate the commercialization of innovative technologies, and strengthen the state’s position in the national innovation economy.

Phase 0 - Proposal Development Assistance for Phase I SBIR/STTR Submissions

Funding is used for professional services related to preparing a Phase 1 SBIR/STTR proposal.

Match Requirement: 50%

Kansas organizations running agricultural education, leadership, or career training programs for high school students through young professionals can apply for the Ag Leadership Grant, which supports ag leadership and cooperative education projects. Focused on youth development, CHS Foundation prioritizes regional or national programs that impact multiple eligible states, including Kansas.

Nonprofits and education programs promoting agricultural cooperatives in Kansas and other CHS trade area states can seek support for cooperative education, professional development, and hands-on learning. With a mission to strengthen agricultural education, CHS Foundation provides funding for program-related costs, especially initiatives reaching middle school through college students and young producers with innovative, measurable outcomes.

ACCEL-KS Proof of Concept

ACCEL-KS is a statewide initiative aimed at supporting and accelerating the commercialization of groundbreaking ideas and products, transforming them into market-ready solutions. By prioritizing Proof-of-Concept (PoC) and Research & Development (R&D) efforts, ACCEL-KS activates Kansas’ innovation ecosystem to deliver critical financial and wrap-around support systems to fast-track high-potential projects toward commercial success.

Funding is used for equipment and facility use, grant funding distribution, professional services, travel, marketing, communications and training.

What Support is Available?

Selected partners offer:

ACCEL-KS places special emphasis on supporting rural innovators. At least 30% of supported projects must originate in rural Kansas.

Broadband Acceleration Grant

Purpose and Goals

The Broadband Acceleration Grant Program is a critical program in Kansas’ plan to address broadband gaps. The Program is designed to offset capital expenses in the deployment of broadband to unserved areas in three distinct funding categories: 1) Last Mile, 2) Line Extension and 3) Middle Mile. The goal of this program is to facilitate broadband access to all Kansans while promoting practices that increase deployment and encourage adoption.

Goals

• Target economically distressed areas unlikely to receive broadband service without state or federal funding
• Focus on enabling last mile and line extension locations, and middle mile segments.
• Deploy reliable broadband solutions with speeds at or greater than 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps (100/20 Mbps) upload.
• Deploy middle mile segments supporting speeds at or greater than symmetrical 10 Gbps

Funding Priorities

The following items are BAG 6.0 funding priorities:

• Critical broadband needs within a community or rural area
• Lack of access to an affordable, reliable high-speed broadband connection
• Geographic Distribution of Grant Funds: The State of Kansas may geographically distribute awards to ensure that all Kansas regions can participate in connecting Kansans
• Serve Economically Distressed Counties that are unserved

Go-Long Scholarship Fund

The Go-Long mantra is to give of oneself, live life fully and to never give up. The Go-Long team was formed in 2002 when a group of football-loving friends decided to give back. Go-Long decided they would seek to enrich the lives of young people who aspired to attend college. They did this by creating a yard work and neighborhood beautification business, in which 100% of all earnings would go to the Go-Long Scholarship Fund. In addition, the Go-Long volunteer team provides scholarship recipients with neighborhood beautification service projects, which raise funds to fuel the next class of Go-Long scholars.

The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to students in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

Students receiving the scholarship will be expected to complete at least 8 hours of community service when they receive the award.

Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in equal payments in August and January. Scholarship amounts may vary and are non-renewable.

Jack's Community Grants, managed by the Jack in the Box Foundation, seeks to empower youth in local communities by providing funding to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. These organizations must focus on feeding, educating, and empowering youth and operate within 50 miles of a Jack in the Box restaurant. The Foundation promotes originality and opportunity while ensuring that applicants adhere to a nondiscrimination policy. Special consideration is given to applications with support from franchisees or employees.

The WaterSMART Applied Science Grants aim to enhance water management and supply reliability through innovative research and data utilization. By inviting qualified entities to apply for funding, the program focuses on improving hydrologic data access, forecasting capabilities, and modeling tools. This initiative aligns with federal priorities to optimize resources, ensuring water managers can effectively address future demands and adapt to climate challenges, thus fostering resilience in water operations across the nation.

The Blueprint to Build Grant Program aims to facilitate the establishment of community centers in Kansas by offering three pre-designed blueprints. With a funding pool of $14 million for 2025, eligible communities can receive up to $2.5 million to construct a center tailored to their needs. This initiative is designed to simplify and reduce costs for smaller communities, promoting vibrant spaces for low- to moderate-income residents while ensuring efficient construction processes.

Kris Paper Legacy Scholarship for Women in Technology Fund

The Kris Paper Legacy Scholarship for Women in Technology Fund provides an annual scholarship to a graduating female high school senior or returning female college student who intends to further their education at a two-year or four-year college or university or at a vocational or technical school who share Kris Paper’s love of technology and will be seeking a degree in a technology related field.

Mary J. Weber Memorial Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the Mary J. Weber Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships to high school graduates who intend to further their education at a two-year or four-year college or university or trade/technical school. Preference will be given to graduates of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, and Andale High School in Andale, Kansas. The Fund is established in memory of Mary J. Weber, a 1960 graduate of Andale High School.

Scholarships are not automatically renewable, however scholarship recipients may re-apply in years after their initial receipt of the scholarship.

Graduating seniors from Chillicothe High School in Missouri or Gardner Edgerton High School in Kansas who played on their school golf team and are pursuing post-secondary education can receive $1,000 scholarships for tuition and related costs. Grants from Greater Kansas City Community Foundation support students entering two- or four-year colleges, universities, or technical schools, which may benefit those preparing for health-related fields.

The Royalty Fields Grant Program, presented by the Kansas City Royals Foundation, supports the enhancement of youth baseball and softball facilities across the Midwest. This initiative offers matching grants for major renovations, including essential upgrades such as new sod, infields, fencing, and dugouts. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations or local government entities that can demonstrate secured funding. Grants aim to foster safe and improved playing conditions for youth athletes.

The Community Facilities: Large Grants Program offers cities and counties the opportunity to propose diverse CDBG-eligible facility projects, such as libraries and parks, aimed at enhancing community services. With a funding allocation of $10.7 million for 2025, the program supports projects that promote community engagement, health, and safety. Eligible applicants must ensure that at least 51% of beneficiaries are low- to moderate-income individuals, ensuring impactful improvements for communities in need.

The Finnup Foundation Grant supports 501(c)(3) organizations that benefit southwest Kansas. With a legacy of over 45 years, the foundation prioritizes funding for causes in Finney County and surrounding areas. This grant aims to foster community growth and enhance the quality of life in the region, continuing the Finnup family's commitment to generosity and support for local initiatives.

reJOYCE KC Foundation Scholarship Fund

The purpose of this fund is to honor all those in the profession of nursing. In addition, recognizing the legacy of Joyce Ann Maurer whose dedication and passion for her patients, family, and advancement in nursing education paved a trailblazing path for others to follow. This fund will assist students pursuing higher education to become an RN, BSN, or NP.

The Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Projects, funded by the US Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation, invites proposals for innovative water reuse solutions. This program enhances water supply reliability and supports sustainable practices for urban and agricultural communities. By leveraging Federal and non-Federal resources, the initiative aims to address water scarcity and improve hydropower reliability, aligning with national priorities for energy and resource management.
