Stephen and Karen Kohler Clegg Scholarship Fund

The Stephen & Karen Kohler Clegg Scholarship will support 6 scholarships at MCC’s ATSI. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a student in each of the following areas:

• Welding
• Industrial Technology
• HVAC

Scholarships

We offer hundreds of different scholarships for students in and around Kansas City.

St. Florian Scholarship Fund

The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis. Awards are based on community service, academic achievement, as well as need. Applicants with strong connection to public safety and those living in the KCMO metro preferred.

 Previous scholarship recipients are welcome to re-apply. 

Casey’s Donation Requests support vital community needs in Education, Hunger, and Community Servants. Eligible 501(c)3 organizations within Casey’s communities can apply through the online Donation Request Form. Requests are reviewed continuously, with feedback provided via email within one month. Priority is given to organizations that haven't received donations in the current giving calendar year, which runs from May 1 to April 30.

The Patterson Foundation offers Oral Health Grants to support programs that enhance access to dental care for underserved communities. Eligible 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations can apply for funding up to $35,000 for capacity expansion, $10,000 for personnel support, or $10,000 for program support. The foundation prioritizes projects led by volunteer dental professionals and requires follow-up reports for continued funding. Applications are accepted year-round through a two-step process.

The Community Ties Giving Program by Union Pacific Foundation offers local grants aimed at enhancing community well-being through diverse funding priorities. These include safety initiatives, workforce development, community vitality, and environmental sustainability. The program emphasizes supporting organizations that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming to create impactful projects that resonate with Union Pacific's heritage and mission. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations serving Union Pacific communities and demonstrate a clear need and capacity to deliver effective programming.

The Creative Forces Community Engagement Grant aims to enhance the well-being of military service members, veterans, and their families through non-clinical arts engagement programs. Funded by the Mid-America Arts Alliance, grants of $10,000 to $25,000 support diverse artistic activities in various settings. Projects should foster creative expression, social connectedness, resilience, and independence, ultimately empowering military-connected individuals to thrive through art and community involvement.

Kansas Governor's Grants Program

The Kansas Governor's Grants Program (KGGP) administers state and federal grant programs to units of state and local government, American Indian Tribes, nonprofit, community, and faith-based organizations throughout the state. Grants administrated by the KGGP enhance the criminal justice system, improve public safety, support crime victim services, and support violence prevention programs in Kansas.

State Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Grant Program

Purpose

CASA Programs recruit, train, and support citizen volunteers to advocate in court for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Grant funds are used to train staff and volunteers to help abused and neglected children obtain a permanent and safe placement. The volunteers advocate for the best interest of a child by providing information in court to assist judges with making the most well-informed decision for each child.

Rural Health Transformation Program

The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) serves to improve the health of rural Kansans by expanding primary and secondary prevention programs, securing local access to primary care, building a sustainable rural health workforce, enabling value-base care and harnessing data and technology.

This office works closely with the Kansas Rural Health Innovation Alliance in supporting rural health systems and the communities they serve to improve access and outcomes in health care.

• Improving rural Kansas’ health outcomes and transforming the delivery system by implementing and sustaining initiatives that promote preventative health care and address root causes of diseases,
• Enhancing rural health care providers’ efficiency and sustainability,

Regional Partnership Grant Program 

The $44 million RPGP grant enables eligible providers to participate in collaborative arrangements that promote preventive health care and address the root causes of disease, enhance rural providers’ efficiency and sustainability, attract and retain a high-skilled health care workforce, spark growth of value-based care models, and foster the use of innovative technologies. 

Simmons First Foundation: Environmental Grant

Amount:

• $2,500 up to $25,000

These funds are to be used for conservation and/or environmental purposes. We prefer the projects support the overall theme of youth (K-12) in the fields of education or health care, however, we do have flexibility on projects that will have an indirect impact on youth. Categories for this grant include, but not limited to: water, air, hunting/fishing, forestry, outdoor education, energy, etc.

The NCAA Division II Degree Completion Award provides financial assistance to student-athletes who have exhausted their athletics eligibility, enabling them to complete their first undergraduate degree. Since its inception in 2001, nearly $9 million has supported approximately 1,875 athletes, with a remarkable 90 percent graduation rate among recipients. The award covers tuition costs up to $15,000 for remaining credits and may be used in the summer term or short terms surrounding the final undergraduate year.

The Patterson Family Foundation supports healthcare workforce development in rural communities across Kansas and western Missouri. The foundation encourages programs that enhance education, licensure, and retention of healthcare professionals. Organizations must register for grant consideration, and eligibility includes being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or government entity. The foundation's mission focuses on strategic initiatives to ensure rural communities thrive, emphasizing collaboration and investment in essential services.

The Patterson Family Foundation offers funding for advanced and specialized course access, aiming to enhance educational opportunities for rural students in Kansas and western Missouri. Organizations can apply after registering through the Grants Portal. The foundation focuses on collaborative initiatives that ensure thriving rural communities by providing essential resources like dual-credit and STEM courses. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, school districts, or government entities, while projects outside the foundation's catchment area are ineligible.

The Sprouting School Gardens Grant, provided by the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation, supports school-based gardening and cooking programs to foster healthy eating habits in children. Grants between $5,000 and $10,000 help cover program operations, supplies, and educator stipends. Eligible applicants include schools and 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in areas served by Sprouts Farmers Market, promoting meaningful connections between local teams and school gardening initiatives.

The KC Can Grant supports 501(c)(3) organizations in Kansas City, focusing on projects that address children's basic needs, education, and wellness. Eligible projects should provide long-term benefits, be feasible within a year, and align with the KC CAN! mission. The grant aims to fund initiatives that might otherwise go unsupported and encourages community involvement through professional and volunteer efforts.

William Everett and Mary Ellen Mealman Scholarship

PBI/Gordon Corporation believes a college education is an important investment in the lives of young people. PBI/Gordon Corporation also wishes to honor Everett Mealman for his long-time service to the corporation and Mary Ellen Mealman for her support of Everett in carrying out his duties to the corporation and for her representation of the corporation in various social activities, and it wishes to honor both Everett and Mary Ellen Mealman for their commitment to education, their entrepreneurial spirit, and their steadfast loyalty to the employee-owners of PBI/Gordon Corporation.

The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide scholarships to children or grandchildren of employees of PBI/Gordon who intend to further their education at a two-year or four-year college or university, or a trade or vocational school. Employees are those individuals who are employed full-time at the time of application.

The Rural Business Development Grants in Kansas aim to provide essential technical assistance and training for small rural businesses, defined as those with fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in revenue. These grants support projects that benefit rural areas outside major urban centers, with funding available for a variety of entrepreneurial initiatives. Priority is given to smaller funding requests, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to foster economic growth in local communities.

The Fiscal Year 2026 Cooperating Technical Partners (CTP) Program aims to enhance flood risk awareness and mitigation through the development of flood hazard data and maps. Managed by FEMA, the program supports communities in making informed decisions about flood risk. With a total funding of $41 million across nine regions, CTPs play a crucial role in promoting responsible planning and decision-making within local governments and the private sector.

The KS Agricultural Land Easements program, administered by the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service, protects vital croplands and grasslands by limiting non-agricultural land uses. It supports private and tribal landowners in preserving their agricultural land through conservation easements, ensuring long-term sustainability and enhancing public benefits like wildlife habitat and environmental quality. Eligible participants can receive significant financial assistance to maintain the agricultural use of their land, fostering local partnerships for stewardship.

NCAA Division II member colleges in Kansas seeking to create new assistant coaching positions can apply for this diversity-focused Coaching Enhancement Grant. With a mission to expand ethnic minority and gender representation in athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association provides up to US $48,000 over three years to support salary, wages, and benefits.

Kansas NCAA Division II conferences and institutions seeking to expand ethnic minority and women’s representation in mid- to senior-level athletics administration can access funding through the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Grants support five-year, full-time positions handling strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, compliance, diversity initiatives, and student-athlete welfare within Division II athletic departments.

The PACF Mini Grants program, established by the Parsons Area Community Foundation, provides crucial financial support to non-profit projects within a 25-mile radius of Parsons. With awards typically not exceeding $2,500, the program empowers schools, churches, government entities, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits to implement impactful initiatives. This initiative, funded by the Pete & Mary Hughes Impact Fund, aims to strengthen community ties and enhance the quality of life for local residents, ensuring lasting benefits for future generations.

The Rupert Dunklau Foundation Grant supports organizations with 501(c)(3) status, focusing on Lutheran Higher Education, Health and Human Care, and Faith Strengthening. Since its establishment in 1968, the foundation has aimed to provide financial resources to ministries within the Lutheran tradition, particularly in Nebraska and surrounding states. Eligible projects must align with the foundation's mission to promote the welfare of mankind through educational and health initiatives.

The Health Forward Foundation offers event sponsorships to non-profit organizations that promote health equity and community well-being. Focusing on initiatives that foster racial equity and economic justice, the foundation prioritizes educational events and advocacy efforts within its region. Sponsorships support activities that align with their mission while ensuring that only specific types of fundraisers are considered. This commitment enriches community partnerships and strengthens the impact of local organizations.

The Southern Plains Grassland Grant Program, led by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), aims to conserve and restore vital grasslands in the Southern Great Plains. Collaborating with nonprofit organizations and ranching communities, the program enhances ecosystem health and resilience while providing financial resources. Additionally, it supports carbon storage efforts, benefiting both wildlife and rural economies. Key funding partners include Sysco, Burger King, Cargill, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Kansas Healthy Food Initiative (KHFI) aims to enhance access to affordable, healthy food in Kansas through technical assistance and financing. Projects should focus on serving low-resource and underserved areas and be led by experienced operators. Eligible applicants include food distributors, grocery store developers, and local food producers. KHFI provides funding through a mix of loans and grants, with a typical structure of 15% grant and 85% loan financing to support various community projects.

We are an organization full of dedicated individuals who work every day to improve health in the state of Kansas. We dream big, promote bold visions and truly believe that it’s possible for Kansas to someday lead the nation in health.

But, it’s only possible with a broad network of effective partnerships across the state. We work closely with other health foundations, nonprofit groups, community foundations, state agencies, universities, hospitals, communities and advisory groups to develop programs and initiatives and to find answers to complex health issues.

And we will continue to form and strengthen partnerships with more Kansas organizations and communities.

Kansas Innovation Fund

Are you a visionary, a problem solver, or someone who is passionate about creating positive change in your community? Is your organization open to exploring new strategies and taking bold steps toward innovation? Have you come across ideas or projects from community members, youth or nonprofit staff that you are eager to implement but lack the necessary resources? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we invite you to consider applying for the Kansas Innovation Fund.

KHF will provide up to $5,000 for each approved idea/project. Our goal is to provide a funding opportunity for nonprofits looking to explore new strategies to solve complex issues.

How the Opportunity Works

To enable eligible Kansas nonprofits to test innovative ideas to address health and health equity, KHF is providing mini grants of up to $5,000. The mini grants will support a range of ideas from different sectors that address the underlying factors causing poor health outcomes and health disparities.

Criteria for Grant Selection

Does your funding request:

• Make it possible for more Kansans to have the opportunity to live a healthy life, or improve overall health?
• Propose a new and innovative project for your organization?
• Benefit Kansans or Kansas communities?

The Solid Waste Grants program, administered by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, supports innovative waste reduction, reuse, and recycling projects. Eligible applicants include counties, municipalities, and educational institutions. Projects may include recycling facilities, composting initiatives, and educational outreach programs. A minimum 25% match is required, and funds cannot be used for operational costs or grant application expenses. This initiative promotes sustainable waste management practices across Kansas.
