The Christina Sue Lilja Resource Grants support agricultural literacy by providing funds for educators to purchase resources from the Ag Foundation store. The AED Grant Program, run by the Hopey’s Heart Foundation, aims to enhance sports safety by providing life-saving AEDs to eligible schools and recreational centers. Although the program is currently closed, it will reopen for applications in April 2026. The Foundation focuses on preventing Sudden Cardiac Arrest among student athletes through education and medical equipment. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) entities and government bodies, ensuring broader access to vital resources for sports safety.

Lewis G. and Margaret R. Curtis Scholarship

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of Lewis and Margaret, who established the Lewis G. and Margaret R. Curtis Scholarship of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. Margaret Curtis wished to establish two scholarships; one for females pursuing careers in nursing or health care careers and the other for a male pursuing a vocational, technical or trade career scholarship. Mrs. Curtis, a nurse in the area, provided for this fund in her will in memory of her husband and herself. She stated that the income be used to award scholarships in two fields, nursing and vocational training.

The Alice M. Ditson Fund supports recording projects that aim to document and promote the music of younger, lesser-known American composers. The fund prioritizes living composers of classical concert music, especially those in the early stages of their careers, while also recognizing established composers who deserve greater visibility. Eligible applicants include organizations with a fiscal sponsor or non-profit status, and projects must involve significant contemporary American music.

The Aim High Grant Program offers one-year grants of $20,000 to support out-of-school time programs for middle school youth. Funded by the New York Life Foundation, this initiative aims to enhance students' transition to high school by providing essential skills and guidance. This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of Stanley Sutherland, Jr., who established the Stanley C. and Maxine G. Sutherland Scholarship of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. Education was important to Maxine Sutherland. She graduated from Muskegon Junior College in 1940, received her nursing degree from the Hackley School of Nursing in 1942, and continued her education over the years until she received a B.S. in Education from Western Michigan University. Nursing was also important to Maxine, and over the years she was employed by Hackley Hospital, Visiting Nurses, and the office of her brother, Dr. Griffith. In her memory, her husband, Stanley Sutherland, Jr., has established the Maxine G. Sutherland Memorial , a donor advised , which will assist Muskegon County residents to pursue careers in nursing and other health related fields as well as support other projects and programs that were equally important to her.

Sherman R. Poppen Scholarship

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of Sherman R. Poppen, who established the Sherman R. Poppen Scholarship of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. Nancy Poppen was an artist who wanted children to explore and develop their talents in the fine arts. Prior to her death, in 1993, she established a fund in her name to provide "individualized arts opportunities" for Muskegon Public Schools students in grades three through 12. Her husband, Sherman Poppen, has watched the talents of over one hundred students develop over these last few years. Feeling the need to continue to support their talents, he established the Sherman R. Poppen Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships for Muskegon High School graduates who have participated in programs funded through the Nancy K. Poppen Fund. Now these students, pursuing arts studies at accredited colleges and universities or under the tutelage of master artists, can be assured of continued support and backing.

The LUNGevity Career Development Award supports emerging research leaders focused on lung cancer. It funds innovative projects aimed at enhancing early detection and personalized treatments, including targeted therapies and immunotherapy. With a maximum award of $300,000 over three years, this opportunity is limited to US applicants. Rocket Scholars Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of the parents and alumni of Reeths Puffer Schools, who established the Rocket Scholars Foundation Scholarship of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. The Rocket Scholars Foundation was created by parents and alumni with two purposes in mind:

• To continue to foster within the school system a culture of rigorous academic achievement for all students and
• To offer those students who have demonstrated high achievement, scholarships to help defray the increasingly expensive tuition costs at colleges, universities and accredited post-secondary vocational and technical schools.

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of Paul M. Kara, who established the Paul and Libby Kara Scholarship of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. The ESA Youth Scholarship Program, by the Electronic Security Association, provides financial support to children of first responders, having awarded over $941,500 to date. Eligible applicants are high school seniors with parents who are full-time active first responders. Each scholarship winner receives $1,000 and a chance to compete for larger awards of $14,000 for first place and $5,000 for second place. Eugene Curfman Foundation Scholarship

The purpose of the Eugene Curfman Foundation Scholarship is to give scholarships to two graduating seniors from either Francis Scott Key High School or a home school program in the Taneytown, Union Bridge, New Windsor areas for college and/or trade school assistance in concentration fields of Accounting; Emergency Service; Cyber Security, and Trades (ie. electrical; plumbing; masonry; HVAC; vehicle mechanics; and building construction). The scholarship will be offered to recipients for additional years based on meeting specified criteria. The scholarship has been established as his way of paying forward his success that was enabled by having received scholarships to attend college.

The money shall be transmitted by the Community Foundation of Carroll County directly to the desired college or university and applied directly to the student's tuition and books. The monies shall not be remitted to the FUND winner.

This scholarship will be offered to recipients on a continuing basis for up to three additional consecutive years (or the completion of the student’s training program, whichever is less) based on maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 and providing an official transcript to the selection committee.

The Delta Scholarship aims to support college-bound minority students in San Diego County who are dedicated to pursuing higher education. Established in memory of Jim Lewis, a passionate community leader, this scholarship offers up to $10,000 per student annually for four years, based on financial need. Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0, planning to attend an accredited college or university.

The NIMH Career Transition Award (K22) supports tenure-track intramural investigators at NIMH in their transition to independent research faculty positions. This program aims to foster innovative research in mental health, encouraging applicants with a strong record of research excellence. The William C. Risser Charitable Trust Grants support mental health research, particularly in Schizophrenia.
