Eligible applicants include municipalities, non-profits, and educational institutions, while projects focusing on litter enforcement and recycling are prioritized. Impact Grant Program

Impact grants are intended to help non-profit partners expand their impact to further improve the health and wellbeing of Louisianians or to address the immediate community needs after a disaster or crisis. The Foundation also makes proactive impact grant awards from this fund at discretion (invite only). 

The Coaching Enhancement Grant by the NCAA Division III aims to increase diversity in assistant coaching roles by providing financial support to member institutions. Over two years, selected schools receive $15,000 to cover salaries, requiring a matching contribution. This initiative encourages ethnic minority and gender representation, allowing up to 11 institutions to benefit annually, thus enhancing inclusivity in collegiate sports.

The Carolyn L. Kuckein Student Research Fellowship, awarded by Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, supports first and second-year medical students conducting research over 2 to 12 months. With a total funding of $7,000, students can receive reimbursement for travel expenses up to $1,000 for presenting their findings at national conferences. Eligibility requires enrollment in schools with active AΩA chapters, while those taking a year off for research or holding a PhD are ineligible.

The Community Partnership Grants by the Jazz & Heritage Foundation aim to support music and art education programs, cultural events, and artistic projects that reflect Louisiana's rich culture. With grants up to $5,000, the foundation prioritizes Louisiana-based applicants, fostering community engagement and cultural preservation. Since 1979, over $13.5 million has been awarded, helping schools and nonprofits thrive. This initiative encourages both documentation and creation of artworks that celebrate the unique heritage of Louisiana.

The Health Equity Innovation Fund, managed by the Humana Foundation, provides seed funding to organizations aimed at reducing health disparities. By focusing on innovative solutions, the Fund supports interventions that improve emotional health and nutrition for underserved populations. Launched in October 2022, it prioritizes high-risk, high-reward projects that can lead to sustainable improvements in health equity across diverse communities.

The Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center State Competition aims to support small and mid-sized manufacturers in the U.S. by facilitating the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies. This initiative, funded by the NIST, encourages innovation in manufacturing through the integration of robotics, AI, and other technologies. Eligible applicants can establish MEP Centers in various states, helping manufacturers improve competitiveness and economic outcomes. This program is vital for enhancing productivity and fostering growth in the manufacturing sector.

The NRCS' Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program for FY 2026 aims to combat the environmental and agricultural threats posed by invasive feral swine. With over $3.4 billion in annual damage attributed to these species, the program seeks to mitigate their impact on ecosystems and human health. Funded by the USDA, this initiative targets states with high feral swine populations, emphasizing collaborative efforts with State Technical Committees to implement effective control measures.

The Exhibit Award from the National Library of Medicine supports outreach and professional capacity building through conferences and institutional exhibits. Its mission is to enhance access to biomedical information, particularly for underrepresented populations. Eligible applicants include members of network institutions and organizations serving specific states. Projects may focus on health literacy, equity, and diversity initiatives, aiming to improve health outcomes and awareness of health resources.

The Professional Development Award aims to enhance the capabilities of individuals affiliated with Region 3 Network Member institutions. This funding supports attendance at seminars and workshops focused on data science and health information access, promoting improved health literacy and equity. The NNLM encourages projects that empower underrepresented communities and healthcare professionals. Applications are open until funds are exhausted or April 1, 2024, with a singular award per annual performance cycle.

The Virtual Professional Development Award aims to enhance professional knowledge and experience for individuals in Region 3 Network Member institutions. By funding attendance at seminars and conferences related to data science and health information access, this award supports the goals of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM). It seeks to improve health information access for healthcare providers and consumers, particularly among underrepresented populations, fostering health equity and literacy.

The National Trust Preservation Funds provide grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 to support local preservation projects and ongoing work. These funds aim to enhance community engagement in preservation, foster technical expertise, and stimulate financial participation from the private sector. Eligible applicants include public agencies and nonprofit organizations focused on planning and education efforts related to preservation. The program is particularly interested in initiatives that reach new audiences and further the preservation movement.

Arbor Rising Grant, established in 2010, is a NYC-based nonprofit providing unrestricted multi-year funding and capacity-building support to nonprofits focused on alleviating poverty. The grant process occurs every three years, with the next round in 2025 being invitation-only. Eligible organizations must demonstrate high potential and effective leadership, typically operating on a modest budget. Arbor Rising prioritizes applicants from the NYC metro area while expanding to cover the lower 48 US states.

Parish America 250 Program Mini Grants

In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the America 250 Louisiana State Commission, the Louisiana Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities will be accepting letters of intent (LOIs) for the Parish America 250 Program Mini Grant. Grants of up to $1,500 will be available to support public humanities programming proposals that engage local audiences with Louisiana’s significant contributions to the founding and development of the United States.

The Louisiana America 250 Commission is dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of our nation and Louisiana’s role in its establishment. The Parish America 250 Mini Grant program supports projects that engage with Louisiana’s significant contributions to the founding and development of the United States. 

Programs should engage local audiences with Louisiana history, foodways, folkways, music, and culture as they relate to the larger themes of the American Revolutionary era. All viable programs are encouraged to include the participation of qualified humanities scholar(s) where applicable. Programs must be free and open to the public.  

 LEH aims to reach all areas of the state and support organizations of all sizes and communities of benefit. 

The Humana Foundation offers research grants by invitation only, focusing on health equity and barriers to healthy living. The foundation aims to support organizations that identify scalable solutions addressing emotional connections, nutrition, and chronic disease. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) charities and accredited educational institutions. The foundation prioritizes solution-driven research that benefits communities in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Texas, while adhering to strict anti-discrimination policies.

The Strategic Alliance Matching Grant by the NCAA Division III aims to bolster ethnic minority and gender representation in senior athletics administration roles. With an annual budget of $1.6 million, it supports up to 46 schools and conferences over five years. Eligible institutions must be active NCAA Division III members and meet various requirements. This grant encourages diversity in leadership, fostering an inclusive environment for student-athletes.

The Louisiana Healthy Forests Reserve Program (HFRP) aims to help landowners restore and protect forestland through voluntary easements and cost-share agreements. It promotes biodiversity, enhances endangered species recovery, and improves carbon sequestration. Benefits include financial assistance for conservation actions, and landowner protections against regulatory restrictions under the Endangered Species Act. This program contributes to environmental quality and economic stability by fostering healthier ecosystems on private lands.

The Boo Grigsby Foundation, established in 2007, supports 501(c)(3) organizations in Baton Rouge and across Louisiana, focusing on education, health services, arts, human services, community initiatives, and conservation. With over $2,500,000 donated, the foundation aims to enhance community welfare through diverse programs and initiatives, ensuring all residents have access to vital resources and opportunities for growth.

Volunteer Louisiana

Volunteer Louisiana is the state service commission for Louisiana, established in 1993 to promote national service and volunteerism throughout the state. The agency and its staff are housed in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser.

Volunteer Louisiana is governed by a Board of volunteer Commissioners from across the state, recommended by the Lt. Governor and appointed by the Governor. These are leaders in their fields, and great advocates for service and volunteerism in their communities.

Volunteer Louisiana FY26 Request for Proposals (RFPs) for AmeriCorps Louisiana Grants

Volunteer Louisiana has published its FY26 Requests For Proposals (RFPs) to support AmeriCorps Louisiana program activities from August 2026 to July 2027. Volunteer Louisiana welcomes applications from governmental agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations interested in recompeting for, continuing, or establishing an AmeriCorps program within their respective entities. Administered by Volunteer Louisiana, these grants are made available through the federal agency, AmeriCorps.

National Competitive RFP Process

This RFP process is open for current AmeriCorps Louisiana programs in year 2 or 3 of a 3-year National Competitive grant cycle and all AmeriCorps Louisiana programs that will complete any 3-year grant cycle in 2026. Volunteer Louisiana shared National Competitive RFP information directly with the Authorized Representatives of qualified programs.

This RFP is for organizations applying for 2025-2026 AmeriCorps grant funds. These grants are awarded to organizations that propose to place AmeriCorps members within the state of Louisiana only. All current National Competitive programs, as well as State Formula programs applying as a recompete, should follow the guidance in this National Competitive RFP.

New applicants, as well as all current AmeriCorps State Formula programs applying as a continuation, should follow the guidance in the State Formula RFP.

The Louisiana Project Grants, managed by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, aim to enhance community engagement through diverse artistic initiatives. The program supports various art forms, including dance, music, and visual arts, focusing on innovation and collaboration. By prioritizing equity and inclusion, the grants foster artistic growth while ensuring access for all residents. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and educational institutions within Louisiana, emphasizing projects that benefit the community and promote cultural diversity.

The Vulcan Materials Company Foundation Grant focuses on enhancing community quality of life through education, environmental stewardship, and employee involvement. Established in 1988, the Foundation supports public charities and government units, prioritizing proposals that improve public education and promote sustainable practices. Special consideration is given to initiatives that engage Vulcan employees and integrate multiple focus areas, ensuring a positive impact in the local communities where Vulcan operates.

The Patterson Foundation offers Oral Health Grants to support programs that enhance access to dental care for underserved communities. Eligible 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations can apply for funding up to $35,000 for capacity expansion, $10,000 for personnel support, or $10,000 for program support. The foundation prioritizes projects led by volunteer dental professionals and requires follow-up reports for continued funding. Applications are accepted year-round through a two-step process.

The Apache Corporation Tree Grant Program is dedicated to large-scale conservation efforts by providing trees to nonprofit organizations and government agencies in the U.S. Since 2005, it has donated over 5 million trees, enhancing public greenspaces and supporting wildlife habitats. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or government entities based in states where Apache operates. This initiative not only beautifies communities but also plays a vital role in environmental stewardship.

The Great Lakes Federal Grant Navigation Program offers free assistance to local governments in accessing critical federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This program aims to simplify the grant application process, especially for smaller municipalities, by providing one-on-one support and facilitating collaboration among cohort members. By participating, cities can maximize the impact of federal dollars and strengthen their communities in the wake of economic challenges.

Louisiana Housing Corporation

The LHC was created in 2011 when the Louisiana Legislature merged the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency with housing programs from other state agencies, including Louisiana’s Office of Community Development. This move centralized Louisiana’s housing programs into one agency to streamline how the state addresses its housing needs, avoids duplication of efforts and improves service to the general public.

The LHC administers federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy efficient and affordable housing for low and moderate income families, drives housing policy for Louisiana and oversees the state’s Disaster Housing Task Force.

Nonprofit Open Cycle Affordable Housing Program (NOAH)

The LHC offers the Nonprofit Open Cycle Affordable Housing Program (NOAH). Under this program, the LHC distributes HOME Investment Partnership Program Funds (HOME Funds) to experienced nonprofit housing development organizations on an open noncompetitive basis.

Under NOAH, the LHC will receive applications for new small affordable housing development projects from experienced non‐profit housing development organizations on an open window basis. The annual amount of funding will be made available through an announcement made each year when the application window in opened. The announcement of the open window will also include the maximum award that will be available to any single project, developer, nonprofit, etc. The NOAH program will be a non‐competitive program. Applications will be processed and awards made until the funds are exhausted. Projects will be considered on a first come first served basis with “first come” being defined as a complete application inclusive of information necessary for LHC staff to accurately underwrite the project. 

Rental Development Funds

Rental development funds may be used to pay eligible costs associated with the development of permanent multifamily housing. The units may be either new construction or involve acquisition with rehabilitation or reconstruction. The project can have up to four units. Units developed with LHC assistance must meet the following affordability requirements:

• Rent for assisted units must not exceed 30% of the adjusted income of a family whose annual income equals or is less than 65% of the area median income as determined by HUD, adjusted by bedroom size. HUD provides annual HOME rent limits that include average occupancy per bedroom and adjusted income assumptions. For purposes of the NOAH Program, HOME rent limits and requirements will be used for all HOME Funds-assisted units.

• Project based vouchers (PBV) may be awarded to projects that have one-bedroom units available to serve households in need of permanent supportive housing (PSH). In addition to the unit size, the project must be close to public transportation and health care. No more than 25% of the units in a project can be set aside for PSH PBVs. Projects that request PBVs will be reviewed by the PSH Executive Management Counsel with the PSH/PBV waiting list to ensure the project is in a location where services are accessible and people in need of PSH want to live.
