Notice of Funding Opportunity: School Psychologist Services Grant

Introduction and Background

The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) is issuing a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) under the School Psychologist Services Grant, funded through Nevada’s federal School-Based Mental Health Services (SBMHS) award. This subaward competition is designed to increase the number of credentialed school psychologists serving students in high-need LEAs through recruitment, retention, and service delivery strategies aligned with early intervention and intensive mental health supports. Eligible applicants must demonstrate need, describe how they meet the high-need LEA criteria, provide current local workforce data, and propose a feasible plan to increase access to school psychology services within the grant period. Nonpoint Source Grant Program

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) 319(h) Nonpoint Source Program (NPS Program) provides grant funding to qualifying counties, conservation districts, higher education institutions, regional agencies, and nonprofit organizations to improve conditions of Nevada’s watersheds and protect against nonpoint source (NPS) water pollution.

NPS water pollution occurs when rain, snowmelt and irrigation water flows over developed or disturbed land, carrying with it contaminants including oil, sediment, pesticides, bacteria and nutrients. This contaminated water makes its way into Nevada’s waterways either directly or through storm drains. Nonpoint source pollution continues to be a significant threat to Nevada’s waterways. Implementing water quality restoration projects and educating our citizens on how they can help will reduce that threat.

The grants support development of watershed-based plans that focus on reductions in nonpoint source pollution. Proposals are reviewed by a Technical Advisory Committee and ranked on project merit.

The FY26 Literacy Interventionists and Tutoring Programs grant aims to enhance literacy proficiency for K-5 students through direct, on-campus interventions and tutoring. Literacy Interventionists and Tutoring Programs Grant

Goals and Priorities

The primary goal of this grant is to increase literacy proficiency through direct, in-person and/or on campus interventions and tutoring for K-5 pupils. Pursuant to SB 460 Sec. 78.4(2), priority in awarding grants will be given to applicants providing access for pupils attending public schools designated as a 1-star school under the Nevada School Performance Framework.

Please note that while SB460 identifies priority for schools designated as “Focus”, “Center Focus”, or “Priority Growth”, no such schools will be eligible for such designation in fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27) and are null for the purposes of this funding opportunity.

Dollar Tree Gift Card Program 2026

Every Kindness is a Gift is a gift card grant program made possible through the generosity of Dollar Tree and managed by the team here at Gift Card Bank. We are a nonprofit organization that specializes in the distribution of gift cards and our mission is to improve well-being and build financial stability by supporting people through their time of need.

Through Every Kindness is a Gift, nonprofit organizations and Title I schools located in the 48 contiguous states may apply to receive a grant of Dollar Tree gift cards.

Gift cards received through these grants are meant to be distributed directly to individuals and families in need. A primary goal of the program is to give gift card recipients the dignity of choice by empowering them to shop for what they need themselves. By putting gift cards directly in the hands of our neighbors in need, we are able to increase access to essentials like food, school supplies, paper products, cleaning products, and hygiene items.

In 2026, there will be two rounds of grant distributions. In each round, we will award a number of grants between $2,500 and $10,000.

Round One is a summer distribution. Gift cards awarded in Round One will arrive in late June, while kids are on break and back-to-school is around the corner. Round Two is a holiday distribution. Gift cards awarded in Round Two will arrive in early November, as the end-of-year holidays approach.

We know that these are times of year when budgets are tight. Through these gift card grants, we hope to connect individuals and families directly to the essential resources they need during difficult months.

The Conservation Education & Outreach Grant by the Nevada Division of Forestry aims to promote understanding and appreciation of natural resources among diverse age groups. Funding up to $10,000 is available for eligible applicants, including state and local agencies, tribes, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. This initiative supports educational programs that encourage responsible resource use and conservation, ensuring sustainable landscapes for future generations of Nevadans.

The Margaret Williams Research Grant, offered by the Nevada Native Plant Society (NNPS), awards up to two grants of $2000 each annually. These grants support basic botanical research focusing on Nevada's native flora, encompassing various disciplines such as conservation, ecology, and ethnobotany. Eligible costs include travel, lodging, and research-related services, while non-eligible costs cover equipment and wages. This initiative aims to enhance the understanding of Nevada's unique ecosystems.

The Del E. Webb Foundation Grant offers financial support ranging from $5,000 to $3,000,000 for nonprofit organizations operating in Arizona, California, or Nevada. The foundation prioritizes projects that enhance self-sufficiency and have long-term benefits, particularly in child and health initiatives. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) public charities and demonstrate a commitment to community service. The application process involves submitting a Letter of Intent, followed by a formal application if invited.

Columbia Basin Trust

The Trust was created in 1995 to support efforts by the people of the Basin to create a legacy of social, economic and environmental well-being in the Canadian portion of the Columbia River Basin—the region most affected by the Columbia River Treaty.

Mission: The Trust supports efforts by the people of the Basin to create a legacy of social, economic and environmental well-being and to achieve greater self-sufficiency for present and future generations.

Non-profit SMART Grants

Non-Profit SMART Grants support Basin non-profits and First Nations to increase their energy efficiency, generate renewable energy, adapt to the impacts of climate change, and/or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

There are two streams for this grant: Stream One – Electric Vehicles and Charging Stations; and Stream Two – Renewable Energy and Improvements to Buildings

Stream One – Electric Vehicles and Charging Stations

This stream supports the purchase of one new electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle for use in Basin communities, and/or up to two charging stations.

Nevada-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public institutions serving cultural communities can apply for Nevada Arts Council’s Folklife Community Grant, with awards up to US $5,000 for folk and traditional arts programs. Funding may benefit Nevada groups whose health, wellness, or community initiatives include festivals, cultural events, concerts, gatherings, conferences, or seminars with folk artists and culture bearers.

Native Seed growing Program (NV)

The State of Nevada, Department of Agriculture is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide native seed growing services as described in the scope of work and attachments. The State intends to award up to six (6) contracts in conjunction with this solicitation, as determined in the best interests of the State. The Department of Agriculture shall administer contract(s) resulting from this solicitation. The resulting contract(s) are expected to be for a contract term of four years, subject to Board of Examiner’s approval.

This project is a subset of a larger, partnership-driven project that aims to target 4 main objectives:

• Native seed collection;
• Native seed cleaning and storage;
• Native seed production; and
• Creation of a native seed equipment network.

This particular project addresses one primary objective: enhancing native seed production in Nevada. We intend to achieve this through both a physical increase in the total supply of a diverse cache of native species and increasing the technical knowledge and experience of growing native species for Nevada-based producers. The achievement of this objective is entirely reliant upon the ability of local landowners and agricultural producers to plant seed stock that will enable restoration practitioners to have access to desirable, locally adapted speciesfor re-seeding projects.

 Project managers will be tasked with the goal of obtaining the appropriate starter seed and providing those species to eligible producers for increase, while simultaneously selecting seed that is genetically appropriate for replanting within the Great Basin region. Eligible producers will be provided with technicalsupport and the best possible plant materials throughout the project period. It is the intent of this project to fund production efforts for increase by way of state contracting and to obtain an increase in materials used for public restoration projects statewide. Seed yields from increase efforts will be re-admitted to the funding agency and ultimately will be re-allocated to federal and state agencies for use on restoration projects throughout the Great Basin. Funding for production will vary based upon species selected and is limited to 3 overarching categories:

• $4,000.00/acre, 
• $5,000.00/acre,
• $6,000.00/acre

The total amount of funding available to support this initiative is $316,445.00. 

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools across the US to implement the PLTW Gateway program for the first time. With total funding of $9,100, the grant covers participation fees and training registration costs. Schools, including public, private, and charter, are encouraged to apply, particularly those serving low-income and minority majority populations. This initiative aims to enhance educational pathways in STEM for diverse student groups.

The Community Facilities Grant Program in Nevada offers funding to develop vital community facilities in rural areas, benefiting towns with populations under 20,000. Eligible projects include healthcare, public safety, education, and essential services. This program prioritizes lower-income communities, providing up to 75% funding for qualifying projects. Applicants can be public bodies, non-profits, or federally recognized tribes. It's a year-round program, ensuring ongoing support to enhance community infrastructure and services.

Undergraduate and graduate students in fields like costume studies, material culture, museum studies, or fashion history in Nevada and other Western Region areas can access internship funding through the Costume Society of America. CSA’s Jack Handford Summer Internship offers approximately US $3,000 for a six-week (120-hour) museum or related placement; student applicants must be CSA Western Region members.
