Colleen Bray Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for students seeking certification in dog grooming, vet tech, or any secondary education in animal sciences. 

The Hearst Journalism Awards Program offers significant support for aspiring journalists, providing scholarships and recognition for excellence in various media formats. Established in 1960 by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, the program includes multiple competitions in writing, photojournalism, audio, television, and multimedia. With up to $700,000 in awards, it encourages undergraduate students at accredited institutions to showcase their talents, fostering the next generation of journalistic talent.

The LaRue Ottaway Scholarship, offered by the Union City Community Foundation, provides financial support to 15-20 graduating seniors each year pursuing degrees in the medical field. With an average funding of $20,000 annually, this scholarship emphasizes academic excellence, requiring a minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipients are chosen based on criteria set by the donor, ensuring a fair selection process that highlights deserving candidates from the Union City Area.

The Hearst Journalism Awards Program, established in 1960, supports undergraduate journalism education with up to $700,000 in awards through various competitions. Open to ACEJMC-accredited students, it includes writing, photojournalism, audio, television, and multimedia contests. The Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Awards, established by the National PTA, recognize excellence in diversity, equity, and inclusion among PTAs. The 2024-2025 program includes 14 competitions across various media forms, with awards totaling up to $700,000. Participation is open to undergraduate journalism majors and minors at ACEJMC-accredited institutions. The Gerber Foundation offers grants for pediatric research focusing on environmental hazards that affect infants and young children.
