Focused on economic and community development, New York State Homes and Community Renewal invites New York local governments to support microenterprise assistance programs that create or retain jobs for low- and moderate-income residents. Eligible cities, towns, villages, and counties can fund entrepreneurial training and financial assistance for very small for-profit businesses with five or fewer employees.

New York organizations planning capital projects that create or retain jobs, boost economic activity, or enhance tourism destinations can access funding through Empire State Development’s Regional Council Capital Fund Program. This statewide program offers US $100,000 - US $60,000,000 for capital-based economic development initiatives aligned with Regional Council strategies and New York’s job creation priorities.

New York State Career Readiness Entertainment Workforce (CREW) Diversity Grant Program

Objective

The New York State Career Readiness Entertainment Workforce (CREW) Diversity Grant Program (formerly known as the New York Entertainment Workforce Diversity Grant Program) provides financial assistance in the form of grants for job creation and training programs that support efforts to recruit, hire, promote, retain, develop and train a diverse and inclusive workforce for the motion picture and television production and post-production industries in New York State.

Eligible programs include training in film and television editing and development. Proposed programs must address the Grant Program’s goals of providing opportunities for diverse workers and/or those located in economically distressed areas of New York State.
