Best Environmental Education Grants in Northern Mariana Islands

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving veterans through environmental education and related initiatives in the Northern Mariana Islands can seek funding up to US $100,000. Impact100 Global Veterans supports projects in areas like environmental education, conservation, recreation, and wellness that fully expend funds in the U.S. and territories within two years.

Turlock Irrigation District Energy Scholarship

Open to high school seniors attending a high school within the TID District territory planning to pursue a career in the Energy Utility Sector. (i.e. Engineering, Environmental Science, Electrical, Lineman etc.). Must plan to attend an accredited trade school or college/university and demonstrate financial need. The household must be a TID customer.

Award Amount:

• $2,500

Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors. Applications are accepted from mid-November until mid-March. Scholarship award recipients will be announced at the high school awards ceremony. 

R.E.S.C.U.E. Benjamin B. Stone Memorial Scholarship

Established by the environmental organization “Return Susquehanna County Under Ecology” to recognize Benjamin Stone. Two college scholarships are awarded each year and are available to seniors from all of the high schools in Susquehanna County and from Honesdale, Wallenpaupack Area, and Western Wayne High Schools in Wayne County.   

Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors. Applications are accepted from mid-November until mid-March. Scholarship award recipients will be announced at the high school awards ceremony. 

Van Cott Family Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Kermit Van Cott and his son Forrest to provide tuition assistance to a graduating Senior from one of the High Schools in Susquehanna County, with priority given to Blue Ridge, who will major in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Horticulture, Botany, Forestry, or Agriculture and who will matriculate at college or a post-secondary degree program.

Graduating high school seniors planning environmental science–related degrees can receive scholarship support for higher education. With a mission to strengthen education, Scranton Area Foundation provides students interested in environmental education with funding that may benefit those from or studying in places like the Northern Mariana Islands. Applicants must be residents of Monroe County and pursuing environmental fields.

Students pursuing environmental science or related environmental education degrees who live in Lackawanna or Wayne County can receive scholarship support for post-secondary study. Scranton Area Foundation offers the Lackawanna Audubon Society Scholarship nationally, which may benefit students from the Northern Mariana Islands who relocate and meet the residency and academic field requirements.

Undergraduate students in environmentally oriented majors from the Geneva Lake area can receive up to US $4,000 to support their college studies. Environmental Education Foundation offers these scholarships for sophomores, juniors, and seniors pursuing environmentally focused careers; environmental education students in the Northern Mariana Islands may be eligible if they meet the residency criteria.

Students pursuing environmental education, natural resources, parks and recreation, interpretation, or environmental studies can apply for the Melinda Henning Scholarship to support higher education costs. Offered by the Community Foundation of Mahoning Valley, this opportunity is open to eligible students in the U.S., including those from the Northern Mariana Islands.

High school seniors pursuing environmentally related college studies can receive US $3,000 for tuition and expenses from the Environmental Education Foundation; students must be focused on conservation or environmental protection fields. While this scholarship is limited to the Geneva Lake area, similar environmental education students in Northern Mariana Islands may find it a useful model when seeking comparable support.

Students pursuing environmentally focused college degrees can receive up to US $16,000 for tuition and related educational costs through the Thomas E. Reynolds (TER) Foundation Scholarship. Offered by the Environmental Education Foundation, this support may benefit those interested in environmental education and conservation careers, including students from areas like the Northern Mariana Islands who meet all criteria.

Students pursuing agricultural or environmental studies can receive scholarship support for accredited post-secondary education, including programs related to environmental education. Focused on higher education in these fields, Nebraska Community Foundation invites eligible applicants to seek funding that may benefit those from Northern Mariana Islands enrolled in qualifying programs in the U.S.

Environmental education students from eligible New York counties can access funding through the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region’s Fort Orange Garden Club Centennial Endowed Scholarship. Third- or fourth-year undergraduates and graduate students in plant sciences, conservation, environmental sciences, or landscape architecture who demonstrate financial need may benefit, including those from the Northern Mariana Islands studying at qualifying institutions.

With a mission to strengthen community, Community Foundation of the Lowcountry provides Northern Mariana Islands environmental education students with scholarship support for post-secondary study. High school seniors who are U.S. citizens pursuing 2- or 4-year degrees in environmental sciences or related fields, especially marine sciences, may be eligible if other criteria are met.

High school seniors pursuing environmental sciences, marine biology, STEM, or related fields can receive scholarship support through the Turtle Trackers - Linda Zambelli Family Scholarship Fund, administered by Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. Students interested in environmental education careers may benefit if they meet the academic, residency, and college-acceptance requirements.

Students pursuing natural resources or environmental education fields in the Northeastern part of Illinois can receive scholarship support for full-time study through the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. Focused on higher education in areas like conservation, ecology, forestry, and water quality, this scholarship may benefit future environmental educators and resource professionals.

The Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas (MCFA) supports environmental initiatives across the Americas, focusing on biodiversity conservation, environmental education, justice, and sustainable development. Rob’s Hauling & Vance Family Scholarship

The Rob’s Hauling & Vance Family Scholarship Fund was created in 2019 by James and Lyndsey Vance. The Vance family places a priority on and a commitment to protecting, preserving, conserving, and sustaining the environment. Their scholarship gives special consideration to applicants who are pursuing an education in Ecology, Natural Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Renewable Energy Engineering, Sustainability Management, Urban Planning and Sustainability, Climate Science, Conservation Science, Conservation Biology, or Environmental Health and Economics. Consideration is also given to students studying Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture Production, Animal Science, Food Sciences and Technologies, Horticulture, Plant Science, Soil Science, and related fields.

Recipients may be a graduate or senior from any school located in Marion County who have been a resident of the area for their entire high school career and maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or greater.

Available to graduating seniors from Antrim or Kalkaska Counties who are planning to pursue education in environmental or related studies.

Scholarships for High School Seniors

Mid-Shore Community Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties, who are planning to attend a college, university, or trade school. In general, scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievement, community service, financial need, and other criteria specified by the donor.

Kelley Phillips Cox Legacy Scholarship

Awarded to Mid-Shore students, who are planning to pursue degrees in Environmental Science or Marine Biology

Elizabeth DeVilling Environmental Odyssey Scholarship

This scholarship provides support to graduating seniors or graduates of any Henderson County public, private or parochial high school seeking to further their education beyond high school. Recipients of this scholarship must be accepted to an accredited degree granting college or university and be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in the field of environmental science or a related field. Preference will be given to those who have expressed a desire to pursue work which relates to environmental preservation and/or conservation and have financial need for assistance. Extra-curricular and extra participation in activity relevant to earth sciences/environmental sciences will be given added priority.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations working on environmental education and related youth or community programs in the Northern Mariana Islands can receive up to US $500 annually when an eligible Ecolab employee or retiree serves on their board. Ecolab Foundation’s Board Leadership Volunteer Grant supports conservation learning, sustainability education, and other aligned community initiatives in the U.S., including this territory.

August Corso Scholarship Fund

Scholarships shall be awarded to residents of Erie County, Ohio pursuing a post-secondary education. Preference shall be given to students pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Environmental Science or Agricultural Business. Financial need is a consideration for the scholarship award.

Scholarships are available for students planning to attend an accredited nonprofit college or university, or planning to receive licensure, accreditation, or a certificate from a nonprofit vocational or apprenticeship program in the United States.

The scholarship may be renewed for a second, third, and fourth year.
