The AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation Grant aims to prevent and mitigate adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) to promote healthier outcomes for children. With a focus on empowering families, healing behaviors, and access to healthcare, the foundation supports nonprofit organizations that provide comprehensive care and resources. Grants range from $100,000 to $250,000, totaling up to $1.945 million for project-specific initiatives. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits operating in states where AmeriHealth Caritas Medicaid markets exist.

Stark Community Foundation is one of the area’s major sources of college scholarship support— thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, families and businesses that have created scholarship funds.

The Foundation currently manages more than 100 scholarship funds that support hundreds of deserving students each year from Stark and Carroll counties. In 2025, more than $1,000,000 was awarded to local students to help them achieve their educational dreams.

The Canton Regional Society of Professional Engineers (CRSPE) College Scholarship Fund

The Canton Regional Society of Professional Engineers (CRSPE) College Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial support for students who are residents of Stark, Wayne, Richland, Crawford or Ashland counties, will be juniors or seniors (must have completed four semesters) enrolled in an accredited college of engineering in the state of Ohio and expect to receive their bachelor’s degree in engineering.

WISEWOMAN Solicitation

Number of Grants and Funds Available: One grant to be awarded with federal funds. The award amount will be no more than $92,000.

No grant award will be issued for less than $30,000. The minimum amount is exclusive of any required matching amounts and represents only ODH funds granted. Applications submitted for less than the minimum amount will not be considered for review.

Purpose

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for WOMen Across the Nation (WISEWOMAN) program is at the forefront of the nation’s efforts to improve cardiovascular health for low-income, uninsured, and underinsured participants. Congress authorized the WISEWOMAN program in 1993 to extend the preventive health services offered to participants of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP). The intent is to expand services to NBCCEDP participants aged 35-64 to address cardiovascular health concerns in a population made vulnerable through social determinants of health.

WISEWOMAN Subgrantees do not provide screening and diagnostic services. All screening and diagnostic services are provided by medical professionals under separate contract with the Ohio Department of Health. WISEWOMAN subrecipients are awarded funds for operational and administrative costs. Funds to be used for the reimbursement of screening and diagnostic services are not awarded to WISEWOMAN subgrantees and are managed by a Third-Party Administrator in a separate account.

The Native Voices Endowment Grants, managed by the Endangered Language Fund, support the preservation of endangered languages associated with Native American tribes that interacted with the Lewis and Clark Expedition from 1803-1806. Grants are available for language documentation, revitalization, and educational projects, fostering cultural heritage through various initiatives. Eligible applicants include tribal members and language programs, ensuring the continuation of linguistic traditions and community involvement in revitalizing native languages.

Ohio Arts Council 

The Ohio Arts Council was created in 1965 to foster and encourage the development of the arts and assist the preservation of Ohio's cultural heritage. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations. The Council accomplishes this charge in two primary methods; first, through the various grant funding programs that the Council operates to provide support to artists and to make arts activities available to a broad segment of Ohio's public; and secondly, by providing services that help to enhance the growth of the arts.

ArtsRISE

The Ohio Arts Council strives to support the arts in all communities throughout the state. ArtsRISE is designed to support organizations working to expand access to activities to a broad range of participants, address accessibility and other aspects of welcoming program design, present arts programming of culturally specific or ethnic organizations, and support meaningful engagement with other constituent groups.

Awards may support: 1) organizations whose staff and board represent these specific communities; and/or 2) organizations’ efforts to improve their programs' access.

The National Standard for Arts Information Exchange Project (NISP) defines culturally specific populations as American Indian/ Alaskan Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander; Ohio has traditionally included the addition of Appalachian to this definition. 

The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation Grant, established in 1981, provides financial support to students pursuing higher education in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. With a focus on STEM fields, the Foundation aims to promote academic excellence through direct grants to qualified colleges and universities. Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation

The Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation was established in 1982 as a charitable not for profit corporation which accepts gifts from various sources to help the needs of the Ohio Kiwanis community.

All active, privileged, and senior members of the Ohio District of Kiwanis are automatically voting members of the Foundation which is governed by a Board of Trustees.

Funds earmarked for specific projects will be collected and distributed only to those projects. Funds which are not designated for specific projects are invested and only the proceeds of these investments may be used to help meet our mission. In accordance with IRS statute 501(c)3, donations, gifts, bequests of money or property to the Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation are tax-exempt.

Mini Grant Program

The Ohio District Foundation has a mini grant program available to Kiwanis Clubs. There is a required match for each grant. The mini grants are to be used for new club service projects that focus on the Foundation's areas of focus for Safe and Healthy Kids. These are: Bike Safety, Water Safety, Internet Safety, Fire Safety, Food and Nutrition programs, Mental health, bullying prevention, and drug addiction

The Ohio Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) supports agricultural producers in enhancing their conservation practices while improving their operations. It offers technical and financial assistance tailored to meet specific goals such as improving soil health, water quality, and wildlife habitat. With year-round application acceptance and annual payments for implementing conservation practices, CSP encourages participation through flexible contract options. This program is vital for achieving sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship in Ohio.

MARCS Grant

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal (SFM) is pleased to announce the availability of grant funding in State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2027 for eligible recipients to purchase systems, equipment, and/or services that are a part of, integrated into, or otherwise interoperable with the Multi-Agency Radio Communication System (MARCS) operated by the State of Ohio with respect to providing fire protection services. The State Fire Marshal is accepting online applications only. The MARCS Grant application packet is being provided as a worksheet guidance document. The Darryl R. Smith Medical Technical Scholarship, established by the Parkview Health Foundation, honors Dr. Smith, a former Medical Director. This scholarship offers two $1,000 awards to Parkview Med-Tech students: one for the highest GPA and another for the greatest financial need. This initiative supports students in learning vital medical technician skills, ensuring they contribute effectively to patient diagnoses and treatment plans, ultimately enhancing healthcare in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

The Baltimore Life Community Grants Program, established by the Baltimore Life Foundation, awards grants of up to $500 to nonprofit organizations in various states, including Maryland and Virginia. OFIC launched the OSP application in the 2023-2024 academic year as one way to practice good stewardship of the funds received by our donors to select students who meet complex criteria and to supplement established best practices gained from decades of scholarship experience. We are seeking to do the same for the 2027-2028 academic year to find the best qualified students for the available scholarships we have to offer. 

The Gloor-Hirschy Scholarship, established by the Parkview Health Foundation in 1988, honors Betty Hirschy, a dedicated nurse and Parkview School of Nursing alumna. This scholarship provides a one-time award of $1,500 to two current Parkview Health employees enrolled in accredited nursing programs. Eligible applicants must submit two recommendation letters, including one from a co-worker or leader, demonstrating their commitment to compassionate healthcare.

The Parkview School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, established by alumni of the Parkview School of Nursing, aims to support and encourage nursing students. Funded by the Parkview Health Foundation, which has been instrumental in enhancing healthcare in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio since 1878, this scholarship plays a vital role in fostering the next generation of nursing professionals. Eligible applicants must be current Parkview Health employees enrolled in accredited BSN or MSN programs.

The Sue Johnson Nursing Scholarship, established by Sue Johnson, former Director of Nursing Clinical Excellence & Research at Parkview Health, supports eligible Parkview co-workers pursuing a Bachelor's degree in nursing. The scholarship reflects Parkview Health Foundation's commitment to enhancing healthcare in the region by fostering educational opportunities for its staff. PLTW Engineering - New Program In Partnership With Ardagh Group

Ardagh Group has partnered with PLTW to support education in its local communities where Ardagh employees live and work. This partnership recognizes the critical role education, and access to education, plays in ensuring equal opportunities and in building successful, vibrant communities. It is expected that over the next 10 years, Ardagh sponsored education programs will benefit more than 500,000 PreK-12 students as well as delivering best-in-class teacher training to more than 5,000 teachers across 2,000 schools in Ardagh's U.S. communities.

Program Requirements

The purpose of this grant is to assist the grantee's implementation of the PLTW Engineering program. Grantee must offer the PLTW Engineering program for three academic years. Grantee must offer at least one PLTW Engineering course in the 2027-2028 academic year and must offer one additional course in the 2028-2029 academic year (two different courses in two years). Grantee may implement any PLTW Engineering courses of their choosing. Grantee must complete three years of grant reporting.

Adam Johnston Memorial Scholarship

The Adam Johnston Memorial Scholarship honors the young life of its namesake, son of Tom and Ruth Johnston of Marion. Adam passed away a few weeks prior to his 8th birthday, while a second grader at Ridgedale. He died following a surgical attempt to correct his congenital heart defect.

This scholarship was created in 2000 to preserve the memory of this cheerful, gregarious, and unflappable little boy who made everyone around him smile. It is his parents’ intent that the scholarship will help his former classmates and others remember their son.

Adam’s scholarship makes awards to Ridgedale High School graduating seniors scoring in the upper 50th percentile of the ACT or SAT. Recipients must have, at a minimum, attended Ridgedale their entire senior year.

The RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund, managed by the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services, aims to combat the drug epidemic and mental health crisis in Ohio. This funding supports law enforcement initiatives that emphasize prevention, harm reduction, and treatment for underserved populations. By promoting effective strategies, training, and collaboration, the fund seeks to enhance community responses and improve outcomes for individuals affected by substance use disorders and mental illness.

The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation provides grants to recognize and support outstanding PK-12 teachers in Ohio's public schools. With a maximum grant size of $3,000, the foundation encourages innovative classroom projects that foster deep learning, critical thinking, and creativity. However, proposals from new applicants will not be accepted during the August and October 2025 grant cycles as the foundation prepares for a new strategic vision set to launch in January 2026.

The Cavaliers Community Foundation (CCF) is a charitable organization established in 1993 that supports local non-profits focused on youth development in Northeast Ohio. With over $25 million granted, CCF prioritizes programs that enhance education, health, and wellness for at-risk youth. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) charities with a minimum of three years of operation. Grants typically average $10,000, aiming to foster community impact and support for young people.

The Joyce Foundation's Education & Economic Mobility Grants aim to close income and race disparities in college and career success.
